The Village Girl And the Fox Prince

The Village Girl And the Fox Prince
Chapter 63 - Didn't live up to Expectations.

Lynx tried to sit up, holding Jack's body still leaning against his chest. His gaze focused forward, looking at the burst of flames coming out from the small objects thrown by the battle tanks there.

The sound was pounding, very deafening. So great was the fire in the middle of the battle, all reflected in the Lynx netra. The screams and moans of those trapped in the blaze sounded heartbreaking, leaving Lynx goosebumps.

“Why is it like this? Why am I just watching without being able to do anything?” murmuring Lynx regretfully, his gaze started to blankly make a flat expression.

Angry, disappointed, desperate. All those feelings are mixed up in Lynx. The plan that has been prepared does not go according to your wishes, everything turns into chaos. On the first day of the war alone the army had been greatly reduced, is it possible that Lynx was able to keep his promise?

“Pa-prince, ugh..” This whimpering voice made Lynx focus distracted, his head turned to the source of the voice to see who was calling out to him.

It turned out to be Jexie, a dark horse with severe injuries from losing one of its wings was moaning helplessly over the bushes. His huge body sprawled, letting blood flow everywhere.

“Jexie?” Lynx wanted to get to him. The unconscious Jack, he bopong with both hands.

“I'm fine, Prince.” Jexie forced herself to get up, bend her legs and sit facing Lynx. “The most important thing is that we have to go to the tent where the medical team is. Mr. Jack should be immediately given help.”

Lynx smiled miserably, her hands outstretched forward to wipe the face of Jexie who was also injured from being bitten by the previous wolf. “Not only he needs help. But you too. What about your legs? Can you walk there?”

Jexie nodded. “I can't fly, but I can still walk.” His body was already standing with both feet trembling. “Just put Mr. Jack's body on my back.”

Lynx's head shook. “No need. I am strong to carry it. Just think about your condition. You did your best, Jexie. You don't have to try to do anything for now.”

They also walked in tandem. Every path they walked, blood fell and made a trail as a path. Along the way, Lynx paid no heed to the pain that plagued her body.

No matter at this moment there were sword blades stuck into his hands, and also disregarding his body was already flooded with fresh blood that smelled fishy. More than that, Lynx thought about what he should do later.

Because of this, of course, the next war will be postponed until tomorrow. It was almost dark too. The troops would definitely transform into foxes, and that would make it difficult for them to fight later.

After arriving at the tent where the medical team was located, several snake demons came over. Princess Ren, who had been busy for several hours because he had to take care of many wounded troops, suddenly came to Lynx when he saw Jack in the man's arms.

“Prince Lynx! Jeez!” His running steps were so scattered, his body overtaking nimbly among the bodies of other demons that were passing by.

“What happened to Jack? Is he seriously injured?” Princess Ren asked impatiently, her eyes not even a little he diverted from Jack who was closed unconscious.

“Eum.” Lynx nodded. “Please, yes. He needs immediate help. And also help Jexie. He's the worst one here. He lost his wing. It may take some time until she is completely healed.”

“Good, I understand.” Princess Ren coded her team to carry the stretcher. They put Jack's body on the stretcher carefully, while Jexie was immediately led to a different place.

“How about you, Prince?” Netra Princess Ren shined next to Lynx's badly injured arm. “The swords there must be removed, then the wound must be treated immediately.”

“Urus is just another. I can take care of myself. We lack a team, right? Make sure they are fully healed. Give them food. I—”

“Do not talk like that.” Princess Ren immediately pulled Lynx's arm, inviting her into one of the tents. “We do not distinguish all patients. Anyone who is injured must be treated. You're the core of an army that can lift a victory, so you can't just be ignored.”

Ren's daughter handed Lynx to another medical team for intensive care. “Please treat Prince Lynx with the most effective medicines. All the potions I put behind, if less you can ask the snakes that are in the cage to let out their venom. I'll concoct it soon.”

After saying this and making sure that Lynx gets treatment, Princess Ren immediately resigned to control other patients. Although actually he intends to take care of Jack who is currently injured quite badly.

“My feeling was suddenly bad,” whispered Princess Ren while speeding up the pace.

Intercepting him not to go first, the bird let out a loud noise so noisy. Fly around San's body restlessly. It was as if he was delivering bad news.

San left the bird in the palm of his hand, then his two eyes emitted a light that displayed the chain of events. Observing closely what was happening, San was made stunned without being able to blink.

“Very severe.” He murmured, feeling the emptiness within him that suddenly his hair was goosebumps.

“... Even a demon as strong as Lynx, who had defeated me that night, could not make things turn around. Everything is in hiding places to treat,” he added.

King Arandelle, who happened to pass by not far from him, heard this. Out of curiosity he approached. See for yourself how things happen at the war site.

“If you come there too, you only act as dust in the war. With your weak abilities, you will be easily made to die. Just accept the fate, we will all lose and die horribly,” chirped King Arandelle, want to make the spirit of San destroyed.

But it turns out that San instead reviewed a dismissive smile, “Being dust in the war is better, than you who do not play any role at all. Not even the smell of the blood of war. So, the weak word you're talking about should be addressed to whom?”

“I who left and willing to sacrifice my life, can not be compared to you who are just busy criticizing without being able to show your duty as King. Your crown is just a display. Of the King who has ever been in this country, you are the worst!” added San while raising the tone of speech.

THE PLAQUE!

“Basic don't know thank you! If I am the worst King, you are the worst son to me!” king Arandelle shouted after landing a slap on his son's cheek.

San banged his shoulders, still expressing calmly. “After being slapped with reality, you slapped me in real.” His body turned back. “Enjoy your old days before your position was forcibly overthrown by the inhabitants.”

“Gosh! His body was very hot,” screams Princess Ren after touching Jack's forehead, the man was closed but occasionally raved unclear.

“The clothes are full of blood. I'd better replace it with a new one. I won't do anything, I just want to replace,” said Princess Ren half-nervous, hoping that what she is doing at this time is not misunderstood.

When she undressed the top, Princess Ren was immediately startled with burns that turned out to be everywhere. Jack's bandaged left arm had been opened, and it turned out that his skin was blackened like a burn. The wound reaches half the chest.

“You should feel hot,” murmured full of worry. He began compressing the burn with a wet cloth.

“But where did he get this burn?” His forehead folded, feeling confused.

When viewed from the outside, Jack's condition is not too severe. But after looking at his inner body, those hidden wounds were clearly visible. Princess Ren knew this was a serious condition, able to sense that something was blocking the man's blood flow.

“Eung..” Jack groaned, his two eyelids slowly opening. Directly exchanged glances with Princess Ren who was sitting at the side.

“A-I'm treating you. Holdit. And sorry if it makes you uncomfortable,” explained Princess Ren while putting on a clumsy smile.

“Lynx ... Please call, Lynx,” the door in a loud voice.

“Lynx? But she's being—”

“I'm here, what's up?” Suddenly the figure of Lynx came unnoticed, the possibility that he had been waiting outside the tent since earlier.

Jack turned his gaze briefly towards Princess Ren, “Can you leave us here for a moment? There are a few things I want to tell her.”
