The Village Girl And the Fox Prince

The Village Girl And the Fox Prince
Chapter 59 - The Mystery Scrap.

A few hours ago...

When the showdown between Lynx and San was dissolved, Jack had also finished his business with Queen Mother Emely to help San who was in pain, whether there was anything that King Arandelle approached Jack.

At that time Jack was alone, isolated himself from everything. Sitting under a tree, pensively holding his arm which suddenly reacted to something. The creeping pain made Jack feel numb.

“You know that's a risk you have to take to realize all this?” chirps King Arandelle, his figure drove towards Jack.

They looked up, Jack immediately hid his left arm that still felt throbbing. Without showing a surprised reaction, Jack remained calm while widening his smile.

“Sure, Your Majesty. I know very well about what kind of risks I have to bear,” Jack replied politely, slightly bowing my head to pay respect.

“You did the ritual without my knowledge. Dividing your magic power on the sword that Lynx uses, automatically your ability will be reduced by half. Plus, lately you've been using unmitigated magic a lot.”.

Jack threw a sideways glance, cutting off eye contact with his interlocutor. Still don't know where King Arandelle's talking is going.

“And view now. Your left hand is blackened. The reaction from the magic that has become part of you is gone, you cast too much magic. The pain you feel now, won't it make it difficult for you?”

Thas right. What he said about Jack's blackened left arm did happen. Jack knew this would happen. But he did not have to think twice about making that decision, and even at this moment he did not regret what he had done.

Jack looked back at King Arandelle. “Then what's the problem? I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I don't feel like what you're saying, Your Majesty.”

King Arandelle grinned. “Don't be naive, Jack. Don't pretend you don't know. You know what reason I still allow you to be in the palace and give you the Royal facilities?”

“I know.” Jack did not react, because everything that King Arandelle said had been thought of. “But I don't regret it. Because right from the start, if it wasn't for Lynx, I couldn't have lived in a place ruled by petty and greedy demons.”

“What do you mean?” cynical King Arandelle, offended.

Looking straight ahead, full of determination without fear. Jack replied, “Sorry, but I'm tired of having to pretend to respect a King like you. Which even I don't think a creature like you deserves to be called King.”

Hearing the statement, King Arandelle began to ride the apoplexy. Both hands clenched, his jaws clenched with eyes that blocked as he stared at Jack's figure.

“Kau—”

“Enough. I still have business to do.” Jack stood a little troubled from his sitting position, holding his left arm which began to feel heavy.

“If you say that I am no longer useful and do not deserve to stay here anymore because it is not as great as before with abilities that exceed other fox demons, you do not have to bother to expel me, Your Majesty. I'll lift my leg without you asking.”

Jack stepped forward, about to pass through the body of King Arandelle who looked stiffened with a glaring gaze without blinking.

As their bodies stood in line, Jack paused for a moment to whisper, “From the moment you gave my brother the death sentence, which is your own wife, to be honest since then I held a grudge against you.”

King Arandelle was made to heat up on the spot, his mouth was open to reply, but Jack always grabbed him as if he did not allow himself to speak even once to refute.

“You actually know, don't you? The fact that my sister is innocent, you did that just to cover up your affair with Queen Emely!”

THE PLAQUE!

A slap landed perfectly on Jack's cheek, King Arandelle did it out of reflex. Intuition in him is disturbed, feeling threatened only by the words thrown by Jack.

“Stop talking nonsense! Who do you think you are? Don't be sooo! You—”

“HAHAHA!” Jack laughed wryly while holding his sore cheek. “You want to say that I don't know anything? I've been holding everything for quite a while. Don't think I'm stupid!”

THE PLAQUE!

Again, Jack was given a second slap. His head lowered, his lips pierced cynically, “Remember, if it wasn't for the bloodline, you couldn't possibly be King!”

“Ya, that's right.” King Arandelle laughed. “But still, the ravings you put out cannot change the fact that I am now the King of this land. All submit to me, they can't listen to the trash from your mouth!”

“I have always believed that the truth cannot be forever buried. Your lies will soon be removed. Your son whom you have never seen will be a boomerang to you! Sooner or later, there will be a reply,” Jack said earnestly.

King Arandelle smiled wryly, not taking her seriously or even feeling afraid of the threat given by Jack, “Wow, you are very confident.”

Flashback.

Before he gets to where Jack is assigned, he passes through a hideout for the medical team first. Stop by for a moment to give them all a brief instruction.

The tent posts for the medical team were scattered at some point of the venue, but what Jack came to was now the centerpiece. Where the whole food is so complete, and also of course here the members who served more.

Walking around in a frown, Jack inspected each tent. Until one day he caught a figure who was not foreign to him, feeling familiar with the stature of someone who was behind him in front there.

He was wearing a green robe, chatting with the other demons who were busy to and fro to prepare for the needs in the tent. Out of curiosity, Jack intends to approach her.

Touching the shoulder of the woman in front of him, he soon turned his head. One word that describes Jack's feelings after a confrontation with someone; nervous. Apparently his guess was not wrong.

“Princess Ren? You're here?”

Is correct. Weird right? He who said he no longer wanted to appear in front of Jack, why now participate in the war? Princess Ren plunged directly, even though it was only limited to the medical team.

Just as nervous, Princess Ren scratched the stem of her nose by scrolling an uncomfortable look. “Y-yes. I'm right here. Like what I said the other day, I want to help you guys.”

“... And, yes ... Sorry for that time. I suddenly left without saying goodbye to you or anyone else. I have a little—”

“It's okay,” cut Jack, can't bear to see Princess Ren who seems to have trouble stringing words. “I know you're gone for sure because there's business. But to be here, isn't this not safe for you?”

Princess Ren shook her head. “I'm fine. I was already convinced when I made this decision.” Lowering his gaze back, his eyes were fixed on Jack's bandaged arm. “Eh, what's with your hand? Did something happen to you?”

“Oh, this—” Has not had time to finish his speech, Jack was forced to stop talking because suddenly there was a group of people who ran to him.

“Master, Jack!”

“The enemy is already visible in the northern region. Forces with Prince Lynx are thought to have gone down to fight. We must hurry to get ready!”

Jack understood. “Good, each one back up to the vehicle (Roc)! We will return to continue the journey.”

Before stepping away, Jack rubbed briefly on Princess Ren's shoulder. “Come together fight. Me and the team will do their best.”

In just a split second, he had already gone running in haste. Leaving Princess Ren who was pecking with heated cheeks. Jack did nothing special, but managed to make his heart pound.

Princess Ren grumbled in her murmur, “Ah, damn it. It's hard to forget this feeling. My defense just crumbled when given such a look by him, huft!”
