For most of the day, Lynx was still busy looking at the ability of a pendant made by Jack. For a sword that had been cast in magic, Lynx began to skillfully use it.
Through the sword with the purple gem, Lynx can do extraordinary things. According to Jexie, the sword could fend off some magic power. And that's the truth. He also proved it.
“Day will be over, but I haven't changed the locket yet. I'm still confused, should I replace it now?” Lynx coolly muttered, in the palm of his hand was currently his new pendant.
After making a decision, Lynx finally took off the pendant that had been with her since she was born. Replace it with a new pendant, hoping that its power will increase.
Chilly. His neck felt cold when it came into contact with the iron from the pendant. It was like there was energy moving to tie his neck. The next few seconds, Lynx's entire body felt filled with something.
It was hard to describe, but from the tip of the hair to the tip of the man's head seemed to glow. So bright. Jexie who saw it from a distance became her own confusion with the phenomenon.
“A-what happened to my body?” Lynx stood up, gasping in shock. Twisting his body, observing his entire limbs without blinking.
While the old pendant that he had taken off did not emit light anymore. Extinguished, dim, like no power from inside there. Just like an ordinary pendant without magic.
“You won't go back to your fox form if you don't want it,” chirps someone from behind, his voice sounds familiar.
Lynx's body turned around, looking at Jack who was walking at her. “Mother?” His lips smiled when he found out that the man looked fresher now.
“The locket is very special for you. There are no duplicates, I made it special for you,” explained Jack as he continued to gallop, both hands kept behind his back.
Lynx is confused. “Then what does it mean that I will not return to my fox form?”
“It's true.” Jack was already standing before him, giving a distance of about two steps. “Your change is not bound by time. When the eyes of the day set, you can still be human.”
“Be-really?!” Lynx exclaimed enthusiastically, it sounded incredible.
Jack nodded. “You can change shape whenever you want. By touching the pendant while talking inwardly, revealing what you want, then it will happen.”
Jack's gaze moved to the side, right on a hill far away. Seeing that the sun was almost drowning brought the light of the flag.
“Look, you didn't turn into a fox did you? The sun is starting to sink, but you're still human. The locket helps you ease everything on the battlefield later,” Jack continued to explain.
Lynx was amazed to hear the explanation, his fingers touching the pendant around his neck. The strange energy flowing into his blood cells could still be felt. But somehow, the longer it hurts.
Brucks.
“Awh.” Lynx grimaced after collapsing to the ground, her chest painfully clutching it with her fingers.
Jack who saw it was not surprised, because he had expected this to happen. He crouched down to help Lynx. “It's okay. The energy from the pendant just wanted to fuse with your body. It does hurt, but your strong body is enough to sustain the pain.”
Touching Lynx's shoulder, Jack again said, “Apart from your ability to manage the change of form. In the form of a fox, you can make your body size five times larger than usual. Yes you could say it was as big as Roc, a mythological bird that became a means of transportation in this world.”
Lynx bit her lower lip, the pain radiating throughout her body making it hard to do much. His mouth was trying to move to speak.
“A-a .. I want to practice it now..”.
Jack's forehead shriveled. “The state of your body is not stable, is it not painful?”
Lynx's head shook firmly. His body tried to sit properly. “It's okay, I can hold it! We don't have much time. Tomorrow night before going down to the battlefield, I will fight with San. I can't waste any time left.”
“Can't!” sergeant Lynx. “I've challenged him. I don't want to be the doormat he keeps stepping on. I have also devised a war strategy. We don't have to think about it anymore. You just trust me with everything.”
Given that Lynx was a stubborn man, Jack felt it would be a waste to argue with him. Seeing the burning emotions and ambition from the look in Lynx's eyes, Jack couldn't help it.
His body stood up, staring at Lynx who was still resting on the ground. “Wake up. We have to practice. What about your sword? Can you use it?”
Lynx's eyes sparkled, her smile expanding. His head was in spirit. “OK!”
Jack turned around, walked first. “Do you know the usefulness of the sword?”
“Parting magic?”
“Not that. I'm sure Maggie's kingdom must have locked up her castle with a magic hood. And I'm also sure the magic he uses is not kidding,” Jack explained.
Lynx who limped to follow then said, “Magic hood?”
“Yes. A kind of protector.” Jack flicked his two fingers, slowly the garden behind the palace they were walking in was covered in some kind of transparent object that locked something from the outside.
Jack looked at Lynx for a moment. “Like this example. This hood will also be used to protect the palace so that it cannot be reached by a sudden magic attack. But my capacity is getting weaker, and it might just be penetrated easily by them.”
“And since I gave you that sword, you should have been able to break through their magic hood. You can still go inside the palace to kill their King, yes even though I know it might still be difficult.”
“... Now to prove that you understand how it works, try to split this magic hood I've made. Destroy with the sword you learned,” Jack closed while giving the order.
Lynx gulped. His gaze went around, staring at the transparent, gray hood like a mosquito net that locked the entire back garden here. Close the beauty of the night sky that began to be filled with stars.
“How can you do it?” Jack smiled to convince.
“I can probably.” Lynx smiled clumsily with her rolling eyes agitated. “But what if I fail?”
Jack raised his hand, his index finger pointing at Jexie who was trapped outside the hood alone. The horse stayed near an insulated tree in a hood.
“Jexie stuck there. He could not get into the hood or try to get out of the garden. More than ten minutes you didn't destroy this hood, then the evil energy from the hood trying to protect us will come out and it could hurt Jexie. In a long period of time, maybe he will die,” Jack beber casually.
But Lynx who heard it immediately glared in shock. “Eh?! You're crazy, aren't you?! Why is the time so short? Why isn't Jexie allowed inside this hood?! You did it on purpose?”
Jack laughed, then focused on looking ahead. This is part of his plan.
“The time will be shorter if you keep raving like that. Quickly lift and swing your sword to destroy this hood.”
Lynx puffed her cheeks, a little upset. I feel like Jack is overstretching this. Holding his chest that was beginning to gradually improve, he took a deep breath. His eyes closed for a moment.
“Prince! Remember, magic will appear if you instill trust in your heart!” yelled Jexie from out there, trying to get Lynx to not panic.
“... Remember, your sword is you too. Same with the pendant you used. They are united with your soul. Trust them, then they will also help you to realize what you will do!” added Jexie.
Jack nodded in confirming. Quite happy to know Jexie and Lynx's relationship is good and very close. They can be partners with strong chemistry when fighting later.
