The Village Girl And the Fox Prince

The Village Girl And the Fox Prince
Chapter 51 - Each With His Anxiety.

After calming down the disoriented and desperate troops, Jack gave orders to all of them to train in a safe place. For a time, until the war came, they were all forbidden to roam in front of the palace.

The troops had disbanded from the front, Jack decided to go back into the palace. His body, which was very tired, was helped by Lynx to walk.

“What is the process of moving magic on the sword and making a new pendant for me is done?” ask Lynx on the sidelines.

Jack nodded. “Already. We can check it now in the warehouse. But I'm not sure you can learn it until you fully understand, considering that the Maggie Kingdom has already raised the war flag on us.”

Lynx knows the situation. So urgent, so desperate and everything too hasty. Of all the efforts he made, not one bit helped or given support by King Arandelle.

It may be different from the Maggie Kingdom which is full of support from King Barney. They work hand in hand to create an atmosphere between a fair and solidarity army. It was as if King Barney had played a major role in the war.

“But relax, Lynx. I always believed you could handle it. Even if I think it's impossible, don't you always try hard to break that impossibility?” Jack smiled to encourage her, his hands slowly embracing Lynx's shoulders.

“Eum, it's too far if I give up now. I'm not going to back off. Whatever the circumstances, I will go forward!” lynx is so excited.

As he climbed the steps, Jack's legs felt numb. It can no longer walk as it should. Now Jack stands on his knees, wanting to use magic alone is not able to.

Just imagine, for a whole week Jack was busy working alone in the warehouse without food or drinks. And certainly during that time he continued to wake up without sleep at all.

“You okay? Do I need to take you to the room? I think you should rest, Mom.” Lynx stared worriedly at him, his body bent down to match his height with Jack.

Jack's appearance is increasingly pale, trying to force to smile. “I..”

“Let me take care of Jack!”

Wait, who told you to get into the conversation?

When he lifted his head. Jack's bead immediately collided with a beautiful woman in a green dress in the palace's doorway.

“Princess Ren?” he muttered without sound.

Lynx stood up properly when faced with Princess Ren. “Please help!” His back was bent, bowing respectfully.

Jack immediately gawked when he found out Lynx suddenly did that. “Eh?”

Re-enforcing his back, Lynx continued. “There are still some things I need to take care of. It would be helpful if you would take care of my mother. Please make sure that he recovers and can move normally back.”

Princess Ren gladly accepted the request, as it was indeed her goal. “Sure, I will take good care of him.”

Helping Jack to stand up properly, Princess Ren did not hesitate to put the man's arm on his shoulder. “A-I will take you to the room,” he said a little stammered because nervous, his gaze was diverted to any direction.

“Wait a minute, Princess Ren.” Jack still had not moved from his standing. “I need to make sure that Lynx uses her new sword and pendant first. If left alone, I fear that..”.

Lynx immediately replied, cutting off Jack's remark, “I'll do it myself. Once you've gotten better, I'll ask for your help to cultivate my abilities using that sword.”

There is no other choice, no matter how Jack knows for sure Lynx will still not allow him to accompany. So instead of wasting time babbling here, Jack resigned himself when his body was guided by Princess Ren.

Hazel pecked at the window of the room, bored with the unchanging scenery. The green grass and the big trees dancing in the wind. If you are lucky, Hazel can be visited by a few small birds singing.

Infusing his belly that continued to grow unconsciously, slightly made his heart calm. At the thought that a war was about to happen, a sudden feeling of rage came and assaulted his mind.

Is Lynx gonna be okay?

What is the fate of the Foxion Kingdom?

Will the end of all this be happy or lead to even more tragic suffering?

All of these questions come together in a mind that is never silent. On the one hand Hazel wants to be selfish, eager to take her lover away and start a new life without having to bear all the burdens here.

But come to think of it, that's not the best way out. Hazel must be able to appreciate the efforts and sincere intentions of her lover who has been willing to fight to this extent.

“What is achieving absolute happiness as difficult as this?” whispered Hazel while holding her breath, her lip line was hard to smile.

“Hei, Hazel!”

Looking at the source of the voice, Hazel saw Aluka standing in the doorway.

“You're going to the basement again? There are fruits that residents have taken, they say it is for you,” invite Aluka while walking to him.

Without thinking, Hazel nodded. “Eum, can.”

Aluka knew that Hazel's mind was struggling at the moment, so as much as possible she could divert Hazel's mind by inviting her to do some activities.

“This lockup ... Very beautiful!” compliment Lynx with a sparkling bead, not expecting Jack to turn an eyeball into the most beautiful pendant he has ever seen.

But Lynx still does not know what is special about the locket. Other than the color that was so alluring, was it possible in it that there was an incredible power?

Switching from the pendant, Lynx was interested in seeing the sword that had been modified by Jack. Instead of being placed in the right place, the sword was instead soaked in a thick black liquid. But there are powder that glitters when viewed up close.

Lynx did not know what his goal was, but after the sword he raised, Lynx did not see any difference. It still feels heavy, the shape and color and the jewel whose color turns out to be similar to the new pendant remains the same.

Carrying the sword outside to look for the difference, Lynx swung it at the wind. Tried some movement, but still did not cast any magic.

“How does it work?” Lynx is still confused.

Jexie, the horse that was ready to give up his life for Foxion Kingdom, seemed to be interested in Lynx's activities.

“Princeku.” Jexie came over while greeting politely. “The magic can come from trust. Why didn't the Prince try to instill confidence in the heart? Consider that the sword is a part of you. Then the sword will surely lead you.”

Hearing Jexie's suggestion, Lynx nodded in excitement. He gave a gentle swipe at the horse's head as a sign of gratitude for helping.

“I will try. It's good you're a little bit away, afraid that I mishandled the sword,” Lynx warned.

“Good, My Prince.”

“Since when are you here, Princess Ren?” ask Jack to fill the void.

As almost five minutes passed, the two of them both kept quiet without speaking a word. Princess Ren also had to hold her chest that continued to crackle not knowing the condition, fortunately her cheeks did not meet red.

“About four days ago. I came here while carrying an army ready to join the fight.” Lowering her gaze, Princess Ren looked sad. “Although at first my father did not approve.”

Jack knows what that means. “What because the matchmaking that will take place is void? I see, maybe King Darrius feels being played by the Foxion Kingdom. I feel guilty, because from the beginning our King asked to make an arranged marriage with the Princess of the Kingdom of Oxra.”

Princess Ren immediately shook her head so as not to worry Jack. “But now things have improved. Since I said ..”

Suddenly nervous, Princess Ren lowered her head while biting her lips. “... I love other men, My father tries to understand.”

There is a sense of relief arising from inside Jack, he smiled. “Thank God. I hope you get a better partner, and it will be your true love.”

“By the way, if I may know, which man do you love from which Kingdom? Or maybe from your own people?” jack asked, a little curious.

“E-eh, the.” Princess Ren had a hard time controlling the intense feeling in her chest, confused as to what to answer. So that his head continues to bow without being able to look at Jack.

Couldn't it be if he admitted that the man he loved was Jack himself?

Before long, a laugh could be heard from the pale-faced man. “You don't have to answer if you don't want to, Princess Ren. I won't force.” His eyes slowly closed, his back clinging to the back of the bed.

While playing the fingers of the fingers above the thighs, Princess Ren tried to say something. “He is not a man from special circles who has a prominent position, especially our age is quite far adrift. But don't know why I could fall in love with her.”

Jack nodded, his eyes still closed. “That is the meaning of falling in love actually.”

Because Princess Ren could not stand being urged to be curious, so he tried to dare to ask. “Eum, what if you do, Jack?”

“I?” The man's eyelids slowly opened, but did not turn to the faithful Princess Ren sitting beside his bed.

“Yes, your age is mature enough to marry and have children. Do you secretly like one of the girls?” It might be a bit presumptuous, but Princess Ren was unwilling to lose the chance.

Not answering, Jack laughed. “I never thought of such a thing. Married and have children, it seems like it will never happen in my life.”

“Eh? Wh-why?” Princess Ren was blindsided, shocked until her eyes blinked repeatedly.

Jack's shoulders are confused. “No excuses. I just don't want to. I've felt how to take care of a child. That's enough. Moreover, I still have responsibilities on this country.”

“... People like me, don't deserve to have a life like that. Spreading and developing witchcraft on the descendants of other fox stealth, I will complete the task until I no longer live,” closed Jack seriously.

Still a bit surprised, Princess Ren recklessly asked Jack another thing. “What does that mean you never fall in love with anyone?”

This time Jack stretched out a smile that described a deep livability. “Then, once before. I've been. But unfortunately I am not as brave as Lynx who is able to fight for his love so great.”

“Because I wasn't brave enough, I lost my first love. He left and I could never see him again. Our world is too different, until I think it's impossible to be together. But seeing Lynx's current persistence in fighting for her love, I feel like I've lost my chance long ago.”

Be ill. The pain in her chest made it hard for Princess Ren to breathe. But in this situation, he could not show his wounded heart so clearly in front of Jack.

The wither before blooming, may it be the end of the silent love performed by Princess Ren. Quietly unemployed, in love and then having to run aground like this. Not yet spoken, Princess Ren already felt his love rejected.

Jack smiled blankly as he landed his gaze on Princess Ren. “You know, Princess? One's love can run out on the old person and the rest is just to move on, it's true.”

“... I have no desire to fall in love again. Even on a new page in my life I wrote, I never really felt in love.”
