The Village Girl And the Fox Prince

The Village Girl And the Fox Prince
Chapter 5 - Trying to Be Responsible.

“What's my fault?”

Lynx's question just invited Hazel's emotional turmoil to peak. Moreover, the innocent expression without showing any guilt made Hazel want to tear the handsome face of the man.

But because he currently does not have the energy to vent anger, so Hazel decided to hold back all her frustration. But for this time, he really couldn't tolerate it anymore.

“That's the last fish I have. Since yesterday, I haven't eaten anything. And you spent it all without thinking about me,”, Hazel said, successfully making Lynx's heart melt.

If Lynx knew that, he could not have devoured the fish alone. In his mind, Hazel deliberately prepared one whole fish for him. Because actually, the portion given is still too little for a voracious fox like Lynx.

“M-forgive me. Really, I don't know if you haven't eaten. I---”

“Already. I'm not gonna get mad, but you gotta get out of here. Now also,” breaks Hazel, tears that pool immediately she shrinks before dripping.

As it was about to pass avoiding this situation, Lynx who realized Hazel had already taken a move, immediately hurriedly held her back to not leave.

“Tree. I'm sorry, Hazel.”

Nah!

The big arm managed Hazel tangkis, then panned the cynical Lynx with slightly quivering lips. “If your presence here is only to make things difficult for me, then go and never come back. My life has been complicated and difficult if I have to take care of a stupid man like you.”

Hazel's body had already turned around, yet both of her hands were still clenched tightly. “You know? I am a poor man. What do you expect from me who doesn't have this? If you have trouble finding a place to live.”.

“... Why not use yourself to woo the rich women out there? I'm sure, they dare to give you money if you want to be their pet,” he continued, his lips smiling humbly.

That sounds painful. Didn't expect that such a word could come out of the sweet lips that Hazel had. But Lynx understood the situation quite well, as she had repeatedly made the girl angry.

Hazel's patience is over. So that everything that comes to his mind immediately implodes without being filtered first. And Lynx felt even more guilty when she saw the girl's back tremble, a roaring cry began to be heard.

“Please, go..” After saying this, Hazel ran towards the room. Slamming the door until the rough sound made Lynx sting in shock.

In the room, Hazel chooses to lie on the bed. Covering his whole body with a blanket. Then cry all over there. He will not hold it anymore, no matter if the man out there considers himself too excessive or what.

Everything that happened suddenly was unacceptable to Hazel's mind. The girl could not adapt to the appearance of the strange man who could turn into the fox. The more he thought, Hazel only hoped that this was all a dream.

And when he woke up the next morning, he would realize that yesterday was a strange dream. Well, even though Hazel is still faced with a bitter reality about her life that inevitably has to be lived.

“What not, maybe just by sleeping this hunger will soon disappear,” whispered to himself to win.

The sunlight had already turned into a beautiful twilight shade, the bright orange sky above would soon be replaced with a long pitch-black night sky. I don't know how many hours Hazel slept after crying.

When he woke up, his hunger was completely gone. But the limp in his body still felt. His footsteps also looked lunglai, not powered. Hazel walked out of the room.

The manicure covers all the places. Seeing that all the empty rooms are leaping. There's no one. Walking into the kitchen, Hazel looks at the empty plate of fish that Lynx had finished off earlier.

It's not a dream. It's just that Lynx is no longer in this house. But this is a little strange, because Hazel did not feel happy when she found out that the man actually left.

“True, he will definitely leave after being licked like that by me. Although he is not a whole human being, he must also have feelings,” Hazel murmured with a faint look.

A second later, Hazel shook her head. Brushed aside the strange feeling that slipped within his chest.

“Wait, why should I feel sad and guilty? I should be glad he's gone. That way, he won't bother me anymore. I'm back to living alone with the poverty that's tormenting me here. Maybe soon I'll die of hunger.”

The endless reverie finally broke after Hazel heard a knock on the door. Maybe more precisely not a knock, like someone was banging on the door with an irregular tempo. For sure, it's not someone who wants to visit.

Because the sky had darkened, because the sun had set, Hazel was a little afraid to check ahead. But if it is not opened and seen for yourself what is there, the sound of a loud impact does not stop.

As Hazel slowly approached the door, she placed her ear against the wooden board. Hazel found another voice. The assumption that the impact was from an animal, it turned out to be true. It is not a wild boar.

Except ... Like a dog, maybe?

But wait, Hazel can confirm that it's not a dog. Because his voice was not deep and heavy, it was louder and louder.

Is that maybe the voice of a fox?

Roaring loudly and also occasionally howling. His voice is very special.

Not wanting to guess again, Hazel opened the door immediately. Seeing for yourself that it turns out that the one at the door is really a fox. And we can confirm that it was the fox that Hazel saved last night.

That's the sign, he's Lynx in the form of a fox.

Not only surprised because it turns out the fox came back here, Hazel also did not expect that Lynx came home not without reason. In the bucket carried by the fox's muzzle, it turned out that there were a lot of fish in it.

How did Lynx get it?

Hazel blinked her eyes many times, trying to focus. Body squatting. Try to align his height with the beautiful-eyed fox.

“You ... Where can I get this much fish?” Hazel asked a little nervously.

But there was no answer given by the fox. Just back to a brief howling. Maybe if in the form of a fox, Lynx can not use human language.

Hazel's attention was distracted by something else. When his gaze took a look all over the body of the fox in front of him. Hazel realizes that the wounds on Lynx's body are getting worse.

The wound on the front leg of his right was getting gaping wide, the blood continued to come out of it. The bandages that were previously attached no longer exist. Also the corner of the muzzle was bleeding again.

A lot of fox fur is falling out, and a little bald near the tail. Don't know what Lynx has been through all day to get that bucket of fish. But clearly, Hazel couldn't let him continue to get hurt.

“Whatever it is, you need to be treated first. Come on in, I will treat you soon,” tell Hazel, already opened the door wide.

But the fox was still unmoved in place. His eyes were empty, but they looked teary. His mind bounced back to the scene where Hazel scolded him.

“What's up? Don't waste your blood and let the wound get worse. Come quickly in,” persuade Hazel again.

“Wfoof!”

“Wfoof!”

The fox named Lynx threw his face to the side, pretending to sulk. Just a short bark without even listening to what Hazel had told her.

A heavy breath was let out by the girl, she crouched down again. Indeed, his regret for Lynx has not really gone away, but still he still has the heart to help the injured fox.

“I'm sorry. Let's talk back later. Now your wounds need to be treated. With this much fish, I will never go hungry again. I'll make good food for you too. So how? This offer will not be offered again, you know.” Again, Hazel persuaded.

Suddenly the fox's tail stood firm, wagging happily. The net has landed on Hazel. Then just go inside the house. Every time his feet stepped, drops of blood gave a trace to the wooden floor he passed through.

“He is a troublemaker, but he knows how to take responsibility well,” Hazel murmured inwardly, unconscious of his lips carving out a smile.

Could this be a good sign for the two to dare to share the secrets of each other's lives in the future? Recalling, it seems that Hazel will reconsider her decision after seeing the fox's struggle.
