The Ruler's Love Contract

The Ruler's Love Contract
Drowning in Mind

Her night...

Ara wakes up and finds that she is on Rain's bed again. He immediately came out of the room and looked for the existence of the man who made his heart fascinated. But apparently, the man was not found in the living room or dining room.

"Where is he, huh?"

Ara rushed to the outside terrace. Rain was not there. He went to the kitchen and to the bathroom. But apparently, the blue-eyed man he did not find.

"Where is he going, anyway?"

Ara quickly changed her clothes. Wearing a black tengtop clad in a blue long-sleeved sweater. He also wore knee-length pencil pants and high sandals. He then searched where his phone was.

"He left not to tell me!"

Ara was annoyed that Rain did not say goodbye first. The clock on the wall showed at nine o'clock in the evening. He then left the apartment to find his man. Yet...

"He ...?"

From afar Ara saw a woman in a short dress restraining Rain from leaving. The woman was seen pleading while whining incoherently. Instantly Ara's feelings turned sour looking at her.

Who exactly is that woman?

Ara did not approach the two. He went back into the apartment to neutralize the feelings filled with question marks. He took a glass of water to cover the anxiety of his heart. And not long after, Rain came and locked the door from the inside. Ara was still sitting in front of the dining table with her hair draped.

"Ara, are you awake?"

Rain was surprised when he saw that Ara was awake. He was acting ordinary, as if nothing had happened to him outside.

"Where, honey?" Ara also pretended not to know.

"I'm out of the outside for a second. There was something I wanted to buy," Rain said, smiling as she walked closer to Ara.

"Oh." Ara sipped her drinking water back.

"Tomorrow morning college, right?" Rain then took Ara's drinking glass.

"Eh, that's my drink!" Ara forbade Rain to drink her used water.

"Why indeed?" Rain gulped down Ara's used drinking water.

"Ih, basic!" Ara was acting upset, even though her heart was really upset.

"I want to take you tomorrow, okay?" rain asked as he looked at Ara from the front.

The two sat face to face at the dining table. Like a couple of lovers who are having a friendly conversation.

"Tomorrow I'll be in at eight. Don't you have to leave at six?" Ara asked back.

"Em, yes. But it's okay." Rain did not mind.

"alright. What are we going to eat now?" Ara moved from her seat.

"Not cooking, Ara. We just ate that. I warmed it up." Rain went into the kitchen.

Ara was astonished herself to see Rain take over her duties. A million questions came to his mind.

He replaced my duty. Was this done to cover up the outside incident earlier?

There was curiosity mixed with worry in one moment to find Rain talking to the other woman behind him. But, Ara tried to trust her man's words more than her own eyes. He still holds Rain's words if there's no girl other than him. And he also hopes it is true.

"Let's eat!"

Rain came carrying two rice dishes along with his side dish. Ara immediately helped. The two soon had dinner together with the food from the owner of the Thanksgiving event this afternoon. The two began to feed rice into their mouths.

An hour later...

He's so spoiled.

Not only that. Rain also took Ara's hand and placed it over her head without saying anything. It was as if asking for Ara to rub her head without needing to be asked. This made Ara realize Rain's true attitude.

"Bought what?" Ara began to ask as she rubbed Rain's head.

"Buy safety," Rain replied confidently.

"What?!" Ara also heard it.

"Why indeed? There's nothing wrong with buying it, right? Just be on guard." Rain defended himself while chuckling to himself.

"To be with that woman?" Ara immediately headed towards the conversation to the woman she saw earlier.

"Did you?!" Rain woke up. "Why do you think of others? You're here." Rain did not accept.

"Then if there's no me, how about it?" Ara asked back.

"You ...."

Rain's words were interrupted as if he could say nothing more. Ara turned her eyes. Rain was downcast sad because he felt he was considered so low by his girl.

"Is it because I'm from America that I think I can be arbitrary with other women?" Rain bowed sadly.

Ara immediately replied to him. "I don't think so. It all depends on the person, right? It's just..." Ara hesitated to continue her words.

"What is it, Ara?" Rain looked at Ara.

"Just why buy it after the woman comes?" Ara got up.

"Fra! Don't get used to leaving trouble!" Rain stood up from his seat.

"I'm not leaving any trouble. I'm just wondering. What's really going on between you?" Ara wants certainty.

"Ara, Jane's my friend." Rain explained.

"Friends? How close are your friendships?" asked Ara again, covering up the jealousy in her heart.

Rain held onto both of Ara's arms. "Ara, she really likes me. But I don't like him." Rain bluntly.

"Who do you like then?" ask Ara again.

"I ... I ...." As Rain's tongue twitched, he could not continue.

"Sleep, it's night. Tomorrow's gonna take me, isn't it?" Ara sat back on the sofa.

"Ara, please don't be like this." Rain looked regretful.

"What's wrong. I'm new anyway. I'm quite self-conscious." Ara smiled fakely at Rain.

Ara ....

Instantly Rain's heart jolted with Ara's words. He felt his girl had not yet been able to understand how her nature was.

Ara, why do you seem to not believe me? From your words is implied the anger that you endure. Am I just a burden to you?

Rain turned his body. He tried to cover the anxiety in the heart by immediately stepping foot into the room. Ara was silent on the sofa. He tried to cover up his jealousy.

Until now you have never expressed your love. Is that too difficult for you?

Ara slid her back on the sofa. He felt Rain had not really loved him before the words were spoken from Rain's own mouth. Ara was eager for Rain to declare her love, while Rain still could not say that to Ara. And finally, both of them were immersed in their respective thoughts.

A few days of formal bonding made Ara and Rain have to adjust again. The girl whose mind was still childish and the man who wanted to be understood without saying. The two still need time to get to know each other before the wedding day arrives.
