The Ruler's Love Contract

The Ruler's Love Contract
Best Friend

The sound of the apartment bell rang, resuscitating those of us who were hugging. Then I let go and decided to open the door. But my man wouldn't allow it.

"Let me, Ara."

My brother got up and walked to the door. He let me stay here while he opens the door. It feels so good. He loves me and doesn't want me to be tired. Just this time I felt the warmth of a man's affection. And that I got from him, my own future husband.

"What's up, Rain!"

I heard someone say from behind the door. My man was still holding the door open to keep it from opening completely.

"Who do you think, come in." He then invited in someone who came.

I don't know who's coming. It seems like the closest person to him. And I saw a blonde guy come in with him. His skin was pale like a sick person. His height is almost the same as my man.

"Eh?!"

The guests who came were surprised to see me. So too with me. The blonde-haired man turned to Rain like he was asking who I was.

"He's Ara, Byrne." My priest called the man's name Byrne.

Who her? Was brother?

I didn't know who Byrne was until my man introduced her. "Ara, this is my brother. We grew up together since childhood" he said.

I stood up and welcomed the pale-skinned man. "Greetings, I'm Ara." I put my right hand on my chest as a salutation.

I saw this man named Byrne turning to my future husband again. And my future husband just smiled. They said nothing in front of me. Just from his body gestures was like he was talking.

Maybe they're used to speaking body language.

We sat together. However, I'm not happy if I stay here. I stood up to make a drink for Byrne. Because the tradition in my country really appreciates the arrival of guests.

"Ara, just sit down. Let me make you a drink."

Again my man would not allow. I was asked to sit quietly on the sofa while he rushed to get a drink. He didn't mind leaving me here with his brother. He seems to have a lot of faith in Byrne. I also did not see a tinge of jealousy from his face.

"Ara's still in college?"

This man named Byrne opened the conversation when my man was going to the kitchen to get a drink. I just nodded with a smile. I don't talk much because I'm afraid my man will misunderstand me. I still remember exactly how it was when he saw my picture with Lee back then. He didn't take any excuses from me. The jealousy is so great.

"I heard you're getting married soon. Congratulations, yes." This guy named Byrne congratulated me.

"Thank you, Brother." I call him brother.

I see him surprised. He was surprised by my calling. Then I soon saw my man coming to bring me a drink. It is not tea or coffee, but carbonated drinks.

"The real name is Brian Adams. But we're used to abbreviating her name, Ara." My man put the drink on the table.

"Brian Adams?" I was surprised, it turns out that Byrne's name is an abbreviation.

"Yes, right. We used to abbreviate someone's name from childhood. He doesn't mind either. Right, Byrne?"

My brother sat on my right side. We sat opposite Byrne. Byrne smiled to himself. She's like embarrassed.

"If you?" ask my man.

"I'm still Rain. From my small name is Rain. It's just that when you're a teenager, you get an addition from grandfather," he said.

"Eh?!" I'm confused myself.

"Rain Sky." Byrne added.

Sky rain? What a beautiful name.

I don't know why I feel cool when I mean my future husband's name. He was like a refreshing rain, nourishing the barren land and even reviving the dead land. I think that name deserves to be attached to it.

"Yes, I came home early today. Ara's condition has not fully recovered." Priaku.

"Ara sick?" Byrne asked me. He showed concern as a family candidate for me.

"Ara had a strange incident, Byrne. And I suspect this has something to do with Jane." My priest was frank to Byrne.

I was really worried that Byrne would be unbelievable when he heard the words from my man. I'm afraid he's a plot with that woman. But it seems like this is just a matter of worry. I see Byrne as sorry for my story.

"I don't know what's going on. But I hope you're careful, Rain." Byrne.

"Drink, Byrne." My brother invited me to drink.

They then chatted for a while, discussing the plans ahead for the task they were going to do in the Middle East. And I just found out if Byrne's arrival aims to say goodbye to the next country. But my man held him.

"I want to ask for your help first. Can you postpone departure for the next two days?" Priaku.

"What do you want?" asked Byrne, sipping his glass.

"I want to go see Jane and talk about the problems that have been going on lately. But I was worried that my arrival would be misinterpreted by him. So I have a plan before I meet him." Priaku.

"Hm, you can too." Byrne seemed to agree.

"I'll also ask Owdie for help. But she's been busy being the queen's judge this year. Maybe tomorrow morning we can get together again." Priaku.

"alright. You just calm down. I'm ready to help. We will continue speaking again. I have a need tonight." Byrne wanted to say goodbye.

"You're going to meet the chief of the city pharmacy?" ask man.

"He-em. I had to get an autograph from him so that grandfather wouldn't scream on the phone. You know for yourself how Grandpa, Rain." Byrne then moved from his seat.

"Haha. The old man did not know himself. Sometimes I still like to mess with young people's affairs." My brother also stood up.

"Ara, get well. Pity the rain no one's got it." Byrne said to me.

I don't know what that means, I saw this guy elbowing his brother's stomach. "Sickness, Rain!" Byrne held onto his stomach.

"Ara, don't listen to him. He has a point sometimes" said my man, then I saw the two laughing together.

I feel like my life is not as lonely as it used to be. Now I can see the laughter between very close brothers. I also stood up, intending to take Byrne to the front door with my man. My man's embrace of this man named Byrne makes my heart feel peaceful and envious. Envy because I can't be like that with my brother.

"See you, Brother." The two hugged in front of me. Byrne hurried away.

"Yes. We will tell each other. Be careful on the road, Byrne." My brother's departure was taken.

They're very close.

He embraced me while watching his brother's departure from before us. Until Byrne finally got into the elevator, then he invited me back in.

"He's my closest brother, number one." My priest explained as he went inside together.

"Then the second one?" aska I want to know.

"The second I was lazy to mention it. He always pisses me off" he said, then locked the door from the inside.

I realized instantly who he meant. I think I know who it is. Because as far as I know there are no other brothers here other than ... Owdie.

"Ara, drink water from Ali's grandfather." Priaku.

"Em, fine."

I then headed to the kitchen to drink the water that Grandpa Ali gave me. Water is normal when viewed with ordinary eyes. But do not know if seen with the inner eye, maybe another story.
