Two o'clock in Dubai time and beyond…
Today I am going through campus activities with no passion. Finally, the clock back from campus arrived. I limp out of class. It also feels lazy to go home.
Dubai is a metropolis built on a desert. So no doubt sometimes there is a sandstorm that requires residents to wear masks. As of today, the students appear to be wearing masks and protective glasses. But not with me who only has books to cover my nose and mouth.
It's so bad to go home.
Slowly I set my foot, before long someone grabbed me from behind. I also looked to see who it was. And it turns…
“Taka?” Taka was the one who nudged me.
“Tumben an Ara can limp?” I saw him smiling while carrying an orange basketball.
“Hm, yes. Maybe you are less excited,” I replied.
Soon Ken and Nidji arrive, both seen running. “Hey, we are always preceded by Taka.” Nidji snorted in annoyance while holding both knees, as he reached before us.
“Ya, please. He was the running champion last year, naturally we lost.” Ken chimed.
“Juara run? But dear can not take heart.” Nidji is like quipping Taka.
Take hearts?
I was confused to mean Nidji's words. However, I was more surprised when I found out that Taka was the champion of last year's run.
“Eh? Right, are you?” I asked the truth, glancing at them in turn.
“They lied, Ara. Don't listen.” Taka stuffed the mouths of his two friends.
“Hahaha. He's too stiff anytime, Ara. Don't think about it.” Nidji sneered again.
I actually don't understand the direction of their conversation. But because I'm lazy to go home, so I'll just listen.
“Hey, I have ten tickets to play in the game arena. You guys want to try?” Ken offered it to us while taking something out of his bag.
“Arena games?” I don't know why I'm interested.
“Yes. We can play there. Maybe you guys are interested.” Ken offered again.
I had a good idea to fill my void. I nodded because I wanted to try it. “Bby, I want.” Suddenly I was excited.
“Eh?” Taka looks surprised at me.
“Ara, later ommu angry.” Nidji looks shudder in horror himself.
“Om?” I was confused as to who Nidji meant.
“That was yesterday in the apartment,” said Nidji again.
Oh, my God .. So they thought Rain was me?
“Em, it's okay. I was lazy to go home quickly. We're just going to the game arena. I want to know any game there.” I quickly convinced them.
“You sure, Ara?" Ken made sure, I nodded. "alright. Then you're dancing with Taka.” Ken decided.
“Just relax,” reply Taka full of confidence.
“Alright it's decided. Let's leave!” Nidji looked enthusiastic.
I smile. It feels good to be able to go to the arena with them. Rarely can we be like this. So yes already, I set foot to the campus parking lot with the three. This afternoon I want to comfort my heart and mind first. Hopefully after playing my mood gets better.
Arriving at the game arena…
I arrived at a mall near the campus. Not too big but there is a fairly complete game arena. Maybe if my country is called a gamezone. It's really festive here. Many teenage children come and entertain themselves with the games that are here.
Now I walk with Taka, and Ken with Nidji is ahead. I saw them exchange their tickets to the cashier of the gaming arena.
“Ara, want to dance with me?” Taka offered then pointed to one of the gaming venues.
I thought for a moment. “Em .. I've never danced on such a direction board, Taka.” I'm a little uncomfortable.
Taka laughs. “You must be worried because it is seen by many people, right?” He guessed while looking at me.
“He-em.” I nodded, puffing this cheek.
“Ya, already. Do we want to take a walk?” Taka offered back.
To be honest, I was worried that I was closer to Taka. However we are men and women, of course if often together there is a sense that arises from the heart. And I'm keeping from that so as not to ruin our friendship. Because for me it's enough just Rain, my rain that I love so much.
Eh? Lecturer Lee?
I unintentionally looked outside the gaming arena from the thick glass surrounding this area. I saw Lee walking with a woman I seemed to know. Eventually, I realized who that woman was.
“Taka.” I pulled the end of Taka's shirt.
“Why, Ara?” Taka turned his head towards me, he felt astonished.
“It wasn't lecturer Lee?” I pointed to a man in front of the coffee shop.
“Mana?” Taka looked in the direction I was heading.
Taka noticed, and so did I. Before long I saw the red-haired girl walking quickly towards them.
“True. That's lecturer Lee, Jasmine, and also..”.
“Rose?!” Me and Taka saw each other.
The distance between us and the three of them is probably about thirty meters more. But we can still see clearly their faces. I saw Rose walking quickly towards Jasmine. And when Rose arrived, Lee turned his head towards her. Jasmine looked very nervous. I don't know what they're talking about.
“Taka, I'm there for a minute.” I'm kepo, wondering what happened. Why did Rose's face look angry at this moment.
“Do not, Ara. Let them.” Taka.
“Taka, I was just eavesdropping on their conversation. Not showing up, really. Wait yes.” I hurried off.
“Ara!” Taka called me, but I didn't heed it.
I turned around and I saw Taka's face look that was worried about me. He is a very caring friend.
I was just curious about their relationship and why Lee expressed his love for me. Is it to be a fortress of both, or …?
I walked quickly to the coffee shop and hid behind its walls. Unbeknownst to them, I was standing not far from the terrace of the coffee shop, where they were. And I heard Jasmine saying something. I peeked slightly behind the wall, then a shocking sight was seen before my eyes.
Holy hooch!
I closed my mouth with my hands when I saw Rose slap Jasmine in front of Lee. Rose looked furious, while Lee tried to keep Rose away from Jasmine.
“Rose, what did you do to Jasmine?!” Lee seemed very surprised.
“Lee Lecturer, why did you walk with him?” Rose asked back.
Rose's gaze implied great jealousy and unacceptance from her heart. But it seems Lee is acting mediocre. Either because he has no taste or indeed his attitude is like that. I can't be sure if I haven't proven it myself.
“Jasmine asked me to accompany her in search of a book. What is it and why? You feel angry that your lover has been taken away. Is there a mistake between us?” Lee looked astonished.
Rose was speechless, she stared intently at Jasmine. “The friend I trust most snatches the person I like. She really doesn't know herself.” Rose looks very upset.
“People you like?” Lee's amazed. “Wait. Looks like there's been a misunderstanding between us.” Lee finally understood.
