Chapter 24. The request of Mr. Moritz

It didn't take long, the car carrying Mr Moritz had arrived at the hospital. Along with that, the taxi that Lara was riding in had also arrived. They were greeted by a medical team standing guard at the front. Mr. Moritz was put on a cage.

"Please save my papa, Doc," Greta asked the doctor who was there.

"Good, Miss. We will do our best for the patient" the doctor replied.

The medical team immediately took Mr Moritz to the IGD. Mrs. Moritz cries in Greta's arms. Lara only dared to stand at a distance of 5 meters from Ny's position. Moritz. He feels guilty. The accusation was uttered by Alex and Ms. Moritz made her self-conscious.

After 15 minutes, a doctor exits the IGD. It made everyone worry more.

"Doctor, how's my papa doing?" ask Greta.

"Are you Lara? The patient asked a woman named Lara to see him."

Everyone is silent. Including Lara. Greta and Lara throw each other a glance with their respective minds.

"She's Lara" pointed Greta at Lara.

Mrs. Moritz could not speak anymore. She could only cry and pray that her husband would be fine.

"Miss Lara, come with me inside" the doctor asked.

Lara nodded slowly before stepping following the doctor. Before entering he looked back at the faces of his mother-in-law and sister-in-law.

"Lara go in first, Ma."

Inside the IGD, Mr Moritz's body has been fitted with several medical devices to keep him alive. The man looks very weak. However, when Lara appeared she still had time to throw a smile at her favorite daughter-in-law.

"Lara, come here. Somebody wants papa to say."

Lara crying. He remembered his parents who were gone. Lara immediately held Mr. Moritz's hand and wept softly. "I'm sorry Lara, Pa."

"Don't blame yourself, Lara. Papa is wrong. Papa's been getting you involved in this. If only papa had never met you, maybe today you wouldn't have been hurt."

"Pa, papa is not wrong. Lara was wrong. If only Lara had been self-aware from the beginning and rejected this marriage. Maybe today my family is fine. That's right what Alex said. Lara's just a fucking carrier."

"Sir, Lara. You're a good woman. Alex has been blinded by Fiona." Mr. Moritz held his chest back in pain.

"Pa's." Lara's getting worried.

"Lara, papa won't force you to stay with Alex. But please, one thing. Make Alex and Fiona's relationship over."

Lara mute. She wanted to go far away and never see Alex again in her entire life. But now his in-laws are asking him to do something that is impossible for him to realize.

"Lara's not sure Pa" Lara replied.

"Lara, you're a beautiful woman. Never lower yourself. Papa's got this." Mr. Moritz gave Lara a debit card. "You can use the money that's in here to make ends meet. Papa can't take care of you anymore."

"Lara doesn't need money. Lara just wants papa healthy."

Mr. Moritz shook his head slowly. "Mr ... Uhuk uhuk." Mr. Moritz looks short of breath. It made Lara panic. The card that he had held also he just put it.

"Doctor!" shout Lara.

The doctor immediately checked Mr. Moritz's condition. Hearing the noise in the IGD room makes Greta and Ny. Moritz broke inside. They were increasingly panicked to see Mr Moritz return to criticism.

"Miss, please wait outside" said the nurse.

Lara, Greta and Ms. Moritz is back. They wept and prayed again that Mr Moritz might pass his critical period. Sister gives Lara's debit card that fell. That's the concern of Mrs. Moritz. Suddenly he snatched the debit card that had been in Lara's hand.

"It could be at a time like this that you ask my husband for money!" accuse mrs. Moritz.

"Ma, Lara"

"I'm not your mama!" shouted Mrs. Moritz. "Until now I've never been willing to be your father-in-law Lara!"

"Ma, yes. We don't make a fuss. All we have to think about right now is papa's health" Greta said. Mrs. Moritz stuffed the card into his bag before turning his eyes away. He did not want to linger looking at Lara out of disgust.

Shortly thereafter, the doctor quit the IGD. This time, the doctor's face looked different.

"Doctor, what about my papa?" ask Greta quickly.

"Sorry, Miss. We can't save your Papa's life. He's gone."

Lara pecked with tears dripping more and more. The doctor's statement was much more hurt when Alex insulted him. Lara doesn't want her father-in-law to leave. Only that man was the only person who made Lara survive until now.

"Father," said Greta. So too with Mrs. Moritz. They embrace with sadness. The atmosphere in front of the IGD was becoming turbulent. Not even being able to lose her husband, Ms. Moritz fainted. He is unconscious. A nurse helps Greta to bring Ms. Moritz to another room. Although Lara. He sat quietly while crying. Everything still feels like a dream. But not for a month to know Mr. Moritz. They must be separated by destiny.

"Papa, why did you leave? Why does all this have to happen? If only Lara knew it would end up like this. Lara won't tell you what Alex and Fiona's sister did in the office" Lara murmured.

Covering her face with her hands, Lara tried to calm her mind. Even if it's going to be difficult. The trials he faced today were very, very hard.

"Miss." A nurse stood beside Lara. Lara lifted her head and wiped away the tears that were still dripping nonstop.

"Yes, sus. What's up?"

"Before he died, he gave this to you." The nurse gave me a watch. Lara received the watch before crying sadly. He knew the watch was expensive. However, Lara did not care about the price. He was happy because before his father-in-law left. The man still left memories for her.

"I'm sorry Lara, Pa. Forgive Lara," Lara murmured inwardly.

Greta stood up and wiped her tears. He himself did not know now how to. The passing of Mr. Moritz makes their families no longer intact. Greta sat on the floor and leaned against the wall. The woman again cried over the passing of her biological father.
