Chapters 10. The defense of Mr. Moritz

It was a long day for Lara. He just got off the taxi that drove him home. With a face full of enthusiasm, Lara brought her groceries into the house. He could not wait to take a shower and try out all the clothes he had just bought.

Some of the servants who saw Lara's arrival again smiled contemptuously at her. They were whispering like they were scolding Lara. But Lara didn't care. From now on he must be strong because at home it is too much trial.

While walking, Lara went back to checking her groceries. He was afraid that someone would miss. Until unbeknownst to Lara, in front there is already Greta who also walked without looking around. The woman focused on her phone.

Lara hits Greta's body. It makes Greta fall due to hit Lara's body high. It's not just Greta. Lara's groceries containing various foods also fell. Until all the food was on the floor.

Greta was torn apart in shock seeing Lara in front of her eyes. The woman saw Lara's groceries including the food that was now strewn on the floor. Greta doesn't even know what to say. 

"You're okay? Here I help you stand up" Lara said as she extended her hand.

Greta clenched her hand. "MAMA! HELP ME MAMA. PAPA!" shout Greta. The woman who looks fashionable is now whining like a Kindergarten boy asking for toys. Greta is unwilling to get up before her parents arrive and see what happens.

Because it just so happened that Mrs' room. Moritz and Mr. Moritz are downstairs. So they could clearly hear Greta's screams. The two of them came out simultaneously from the room and immediately ran towards the place where Greta was shouting.

"Greta, what's going on? Why are you sitting on the floor like this?" Mrs. Moritz immediately helped Greta stand up. Mr. Moritz stood there with a confused face. He sees Lara's groceries and food strewn on the floor.

"Mama, Lara pushed me. I just asked him where he was from. Why buy this much food!"

Lara widened her eyes. He did not answer yet, Miss. Moritz judged him first.

"Lara, what are you doing with my daughter? You are an ungrateful woman! Kalqu-same"

"Mama, enough!" shouted Mr. Moritz.

"Pa, papa still dares to bear this woman?" sahut Ny's. Moritz did not accept. 

The commotion provoked everyone who was in the house to gather. However, they witnessed the incident secretly. Hiding behind giant jars and closets. Including Hana. The woman actually knew that Lara had not pushed Greta in the first place. He felt very satisfied to see Lara in a corner like that by Greta.

"Ma, papa doesn't think anyone's here. Papa just wants to hear the answer from Lara first" said Mr Moritz. He looked at the face of Lara who was now looking down in fear. "Lara, is it true what Greta said?"

Lara was silent for a moment. He lifted his head and looked at Greta's face. The woman looked at Lara with a sharp look as if she was threatening.

"Yes, Pa."

"Dear it yourself, right?" said Ny. Moritz is getting emotional.

Mr. Moritz scrunched his forehead. Even though he had heard the answer from his son-in-law. But, he knew that Lara was lying. He patted Lara's shoulder gently and smiled. 

"Lara, papa knows you're lying. You deliberately justified Greta's accusation so that there would be no commotion in this house, right?"

Lara nodded slowly. "I'm sorry Lara, Pa. Lara didn't mean to make Greta wretch. Lara was too engrossed in seeing Lara's groceries so didn't know Greta was ahead."

Mrs. Moritz again did not accept. "Papa still wants to defend him."

"Greta is leaving. Greta's too late." Greta peeks at Ms. Moritz and just leave. He does not want to prolong this problem anymore.

Mrs. Moritz himself did not want to linger seeing Lara's face. He returns to the room after Greta decides to leave.

Only Lara and Mr Moritz remain. They looked at each other with their own thoughts.

"Lara, did Alex tell you to go shopping for all this?"

Lara nodded. "Sister Alex asked me to buy some decent clothes in this house. But, he didn't tell me to buy this food. I only took Rp. 300,000 of the money given by Alex. I didn't spend all the money either. There's plenty of the rest, Pa."

"Papa doesn't mind his money. Papa just wanted to tell you. In this house there's a chef who can cook whatever you want. You don't have to buy this much food outside. If you want to, you can come into the kitchen and tell me what food you want. Buying food outside is also not always healthy, Lara."

"I'm sorry Lara, Pa. Lara doesn't know."

"It's your first day living in this house. Maybe you're not used to everyone and the environment. Papa tell. Mama and Greta are like that. Papa is sure, they won't be able to harm you either. If you can't stand their nagging. You can avoid trouble with them."

"Good, Pa."

"Papa to the room first. You better take a shower and rest. Papa knows, you must be tired from all day shopping for these things." Mr. Moritz went to leave Lara alone. Lara is happy to have a Papa-in-law like Mr. Moritz. If there was no one in the house to defend him, he might not be able to live there.

When the situation was quiet, Hana ran over to Lara. The woman smiled kindly at Lara.

"Miss, you just got home from shopping? Here I bring you the groceries." Without Lara's consent, Hana immediately takes Lara's groceries. He also asked other servants to clean up the food that was strewn on the floor.

"Thank you, Hana."

"Together, Miss. Forgive me for not daring to defend you, Miss. Though I myself saw that Miss Greta was wrong."

"Don't talk about it again, Hana. I don't want anyone to misunderstand me" Lara said. 

"Good, Miss." They both walked up the stairs. Lara walked over while thinking about what Mr. Moritz had said. 

"Hana, do you want to accompany me tomorrow?"

"Where is Miss?" ask Hana confused.

"I want to surround this house. I want to know everyone in this house."

"Good, Miss. With pleasure. I will accompany you tomorrow" Hana replied with a smile. 

Lara is not suspicious of Hana at all. In addition to Mr. Moritz, Hana is the second person whom Lara considers a good person. The rest look insulting and always laugh at Lara's physique.

"I'm going to understand the nature of everyone in this house in order to know how to melt their hearts."
