Since I graduated, I have had a lot of time. Instead of just staying at home doing nothing, I try to look for small things that can be done to fill my free time.
Today I spent some time helping my mother in the garden. He bought a lot of flower seeds so I could help plant them. After I finished, I decided to pick Aleah and Alisa up from school. A few months after my sincere conversation with Aleah, I saw some changes. He's really trying to stay in touch with me and see if we can give that friend a chance. I'm still not his favorite person, but at least he didn't give me the hell I was before. I like him a lot better now than before.
"Aleah, I want to ask you something." I told him when I picked him up from school.
"What's that?" He asked me.
"Well, your father and I have decided to hire a wedding designer and start making arrangements for the wedding." Told him.
"OKAY? So then?"
"So, we have an appointment with her Friday at five and in making arrangements, she may want to know certain things like how many bridesmaids and groomsmen will be present." I'm responding. "I wonder if you want to be my bridesmaid?"
"You're kidding, right?" Aleah.
"Why should I joke?"
"A bridesmaid? Uhm .. I don't know." Aleah hesitated.
"You said you'd try it, didn't you?" I told her.
"All right, I'll try Naomi. How many bridesmaids have you prepared?"
"Well, my friend Karin will be a servant of honor. My other friend Joy will be my bridesmaid as well as my cousin Ashley and I hope you will agree to be the fourth."
"What about Alisa?" Aleah asked.
"She's going to be the flower girl" I told her. "Your father wants it. "
"What color are you going to use?" Aleah asked.
"I don't know yet. When we meet the designer he will show us some themes, so we can choose the color." Told him.
"Alright, alright. I'll do it, for dad."
"You're gonna make him happy." I said hide the smile of satisfaction.
"But I don't want to get an orange dress." Aleah.
"Who would choose orange as part of the theme for the wedding."
I didn't know that arranging a wedding can be a hard job even when you already have a designer. There is an invitation list, choose the style of invitation card, choose a place, choose a color scheme, decoration, installation, food, cake, entertainment etc. A great deal. David can only come to one meeting with the designer because he has to work, so most of the time I have to take Karin and mom with me to help me choose. David said that he really wouldn't mind whatever I chose.
Today is the day to try on wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses and Aliah dresses as well. David will arrange when for the groomsmen and his own suit. The time is running out and before we know it, the wedding day is coming. The colors chosen for the wedding are pink and green. We had already reached an agreement that we would change it a little, the bridesmaid dress would be pink while the maid of honor dress would be green as well as the flower-bearer girl.
"So what's it like, long or short?" The ladies at the bridal shop asked as she took us through some dresses.
The ladies at the bridal shop helped me try on some dresses. However, I have not been able to decide which one I like. Mom tried to give input as well, but I was still hesitant.
They finally decided to choose the dress they would wear as bridesmaids. They chose long dresses without straps. I haven't been able to make a decision about the dress I like the most.
"I agree to wear this. I'm sure you can find a dress that suits you alone." Ashley said as she pointed at her dress.
"Listen to what I'm saying, you might be able to decide which one you think is good. If we were the hardest because we had to find a dress that most of us liked. There were four of us and it was difficult when we all had our own opinions. One wants this and the other doesn't. But, we were finally able to make a decision and choose our clothes, although we still had to choose a short or long dress. " Said Ashley.
"I want a long dress and no laces" Aleah agreed.
"Component." Alexa responds. "And on the other hand, you don't have to worry about what other people think, whether they'll like to see it or not."
"But I was worried about choosing the perfect dress for my wedding. It's gonna be my big day Alshley, I gotta look great. That's why my decision was so hard."
"It doesn't matter what you're wearing Naomi, I'd think you'd still look great in every way even if you were wearing a burlap sack." Aleah said which made me smile a little.
I take that as a compliment.
"But I don't want to wear a burlap sack for him. I want to look like his queen is walking down the aisle."
"Well, you won't find a dress that makes you look like a queen, if you stand there and just talk." Karin told me. "Can we see the other dress? "
"certain." Laila, one of the ladies at the bridal shop responded and tried to look for more dresses.
"You look so beautiful, Naomi" Alisa praised as soon as I walked out of the dressing room in another dress. "You look like a princess."
"Aww, thank you dear." I smiled at him and went to look at myself in the mirror.
"What do you think?" I asked, I turned around and waited for someone else's opinion.
"I don't like that. I think you should try something else."
Alshley and Aleah were the first to respond.
"Do you like it?" Mom asked me.
"I think it's good." I said as I turned towards the mirror.
"I agree with Aleah" Karin told me. "You should try something else."
"How many dresses have I worn?" I took a breath and went back to the dressing room.
After trying about four more dresses, I finally decided to choose a dress. If I didn't pick just one, we'd be here all day and I really feel really tired and hungry.
"I think it's him." I said to them as I came out of the dressing room.
"Are you sure?" Mom and Joy asked at the same time.
"Yes, I'm sure" I nodded and admired myself in the mirror. "I'm tired of trying on other dresses and it looks like this dress fits me perfectly, it doesn't need to change. And the price is affordable too."
"I like it when there's a rendezvous boss." Aleah shrugged his shoulders. "But it's up to you because you're the one who's gonna wear it."
"I have to make a decision and choose an existing dress or I'm going to pass out."
"So, are we done here?" Alahley asked me.
"After we finish the payment and delivery then yes we are done here. "
"remarkable. I'm feeling a little bored." He answered before going ahead.
"Are you sure this is the dress you want?" Mom asked me, she came to the locker room with me to help me change. "You don't have to settle for any outfit just because you feel pressured to pick one."
"It's okay, Mom. I really like it." I said it honestly.
"Well, I'm glad you found the dress." Mother responded.
"I am too."
After we left the bridal shop, we decided to go to lunch because we were starving. Joy left early because she had plans with Dwayne.
Alisa was the first one to suggest eating seafood when I asked her what she wanted for lunch, so that was what we chose. I noticed Ashley and Aleah seemed familiar even though they had only met this morning. I'm glad they got along. I'm so happy that Aleah's hatred seems to have cooled down towards me or he'll never be here today. I still hope that someday we can get really closer, but in the meantime I will accept what I get from him now.
"You're full already ?" Karin asked, she noticed that I had stopped eating.
"No. My stomach actually feels a little bad." I'm responding. "Perhaps, eating too much seafood is a bad idea. I just want to try something new."
"Well, I don't think it's worth it if it makes you feel sick." Mother told me.
"I'll be fine. I just ... Excuse me for a minute." I said as I got up from the chair.
"Naomi, are you okay?" Alisa asked as I stood up.
"Yes, I'll be right back, okay." I smiled at him. "I just went to the restroom."
"Are you sure you're okay?" Karin asked, she went into the restroom a while after that. "You look a little pale."
"Yes, I feel bad." I said it honestly and then gargled. I just finished throwing up.
"You should order a regular meal. Eating seafood in combination may be very bad."
"I think it's more than just seafood. " I said to him. "I've been feeling this way for a week."
"You don't think, do you think that you might be pregnant?" Karin asked me.
"What's? No, I don't think so. My period just ended a few days ago. I'm still on the pill anyway." I told her.
"Well, is there a chance you're feeling nauseous about the pill?" Karin asked. "Let's remember, is there anything else you've done that's making you sick?"
"I don't know, but there must be something wrong." I sighed as I threw away the paper tissue I used to dry my hands.
"I think it's time you talked to David about that." Karin told me.
"I don't want to bother David too much."
"Naomi, when did you realize that David wasn't just your fiancee. He's also a doctor and if you're not feeling well, you need to talk to him about that, too."
