"Darling, I had the craziest day today" David said as he came to join me in bed.
"What's going on?" I asked while propping my body up, turning my body to give him my full attention.
"So I have a patient today. His girlfriend and cousin accompanied him. The case, somehow the woman was able to cut off her hand so they brought her to be given stitches. I personally they should have taken her to the emergency room, even though I was able to help her. I still believe that certain cases should go straight to the emergency room." David said, "The wound is not very deep, but he needs a few stitches. I told them and continued to give him a little anesthesia so he wouldn't feel any pain when I sewed his hand. The moment the two women saw the needle, they actually took a swing at me and started screaming and trying to run out. He knocks on some stuff at the clinic, his girlfriend as well as his cousin try to control him and calm him down. It's something I haven't seen in years, but today when it happened, I found it so funny, I still can't believe it turns out there are still adults who are afraid of needles."
"Oh my God," I could only laugh, "That reminds me of myself when I was a kid."
"You're afraid of needles?" David chuckles.
"I'm afraid of needles, doctors, and hospitals." I laughed, "My heart felt like it was coming out of my chest when mom made an appointment to see a doctor. And when I saw the needle I started crying. Even now I'm still afraid to go to the doctor."
"Oh, really? You said you were afraid of doctors? Isn't that a bit ironic?" David grinned.
"Maybe, but obviously I'm not afraid of one particular doctor." I smiled back at him and pecked his lips. "I still don't like needles. Probably the same, I was with the woman, panicked. That's why I always try to be careful and not get sick because I want to avoid doctor visits for as long as I can."
"You don't have to be afraid of going to the doctor anymore because you have your own personal doctor now" David grinned.
"And I'm so grateful for that because I don't have to be afraid anymore when I'm diagnosed" I chuckled.
"You're right about that. I'm not a scary person anyway."
"No, you're not scary." I smiled before I kissed him. "Btw, talk about a crazy day. I made some crazy discoveries today with my last teaching practice placement. You know how I told you that I'm going to continue my teaching practice for the next three months?"
"Yes"
"Well, guess what, which high school do I get?"
"Where?" Ask David.
"Global Highscool" I said as consciousness realized it.
"That's great, now that you can get close to Aleah, you can give him a ride away and go home from school and also be able to keep an eye on him."
"No, that's not good. Aleah will avoid. David this isn't cool, you know how he is and how he feels about me. She had just been cold towards me and now I was at her school where she might think of it as her hiding place a place where she could get away from me," I replied. "David trust me this is not good, his father's girlfriend is at his house and at school every day. School is one of those places where you can really let yourself be yourself without your parents or anyone else being there to keep an eye on you. So, if I were there it would probably cause more tension between us."
"That's why I think it's good, if you're there. Letting the thing you just talked about here, Aleah will be forced to keep his attitude," David said to me. "I've noticed some of his attitude and the things he's trying to do even in front of me, I can only imagine how he behaves when I'm not there looking at him. So, when he finds out that you're gonna be there every day, then he has no choice but to be nice. Remind me to send a formal thank you to your teaching practice coordinator for sending you there. I can't tell Aleah the good news today, tomorrow or dinner."
"David, don't get me wrong about this. But I think we're born in two different ages, where your idea of good and good news is actually catastrophic."
There are times when you go to a restaurant and have a waiter who looks very judes and doesn't even smile or talk to you other than to ask what you want, tonight is one of those nights where I wish we'd met one of them.
So, David, Aleah, Alisa, and I went to dinner at a family restaurant called Beefsteaks. Before, we were all ready to go to dinner, it just so happened that Aleah and I were wearing the exact same dress, the same color and all. Aleah wanted to change his clothes after he came down and saw that I was wearing the same style as him, but David insisted on Aleah not changing his clothes. This looks ridiculous. For men it seems to have no problem at all with seeing other men wearing the exact same clothes, but on the other hand women, we take it as a big deal. After all David had reserved for dinner and said that if we didn't have much time, if we didn't leave soon, we would be late and lose our table.
So we arrived at the restaurant and the service showed our table, although Aleah and I were dressed the same, no one commented on it. About a minute or so after we sat down, a waiter came to take our order and that was when things got a little awkward. He came in and was nice, but then he commented about how funny we were, he thought David was taking his daughter out. Now it wouldn't be a bad compliment or a shame if it wasn't for the fact that he continued his words, she told how Aleah and I were sweet sisters in our same style of clothing. Seriously? David doesn't even look old enough to be my father. It was very awkward and embarrassing when we clarified that he was not my father. She was really apologetic and the odd part, apparently Aleah found it funny.
"So, Naomi has some good news for you" David announced to Aleah as soon as we had dinner.
"No," I said, glaring at David trying to keep him quiet.
"That sounds interesting" Aleah said cynically.
"No, no. It doesn't matter anyway."
"Naomi will be teaching at Global Highscool for the next three months"
"David!"
"What!?" Aleah screamed with wide eyes, "You must be kidding."
"I'm not going to teach there. This is for my final teaching practice assessment" I explained.
"Seriously? Of all the schools in the country, why did you have to choose my school?"
"I didn't choose your school. My college put us there."
"What?" Aleah asked while raising an eyebrow.
"I mean my group. In our group there were six people. Me, my kind friend and a few others. Our group was assigned to school so I didn't choose the school myself. We could only choose school in the first year of college when the campus told us to make observations" I told him, "Don't worry, don't worry, there I must be very busy chasing my grades so I won't bother you."
"It's unbelievable" complained Aleah.
"The good thing is, you can go and go home from school with Naomi" David said.
"Oh, good," said Aleah cynically.
I know it's not gonna be easy.
