"No, Naomi, put that down now. You can't wear it tonight" Karin told me as I exited the bathroom.

"Why Karin? Don't you like to see me half naked?" I asked him, "Why can't I wear it, is it good?"

"No, I don't want to see it," Karin replied, "You're not my friend, your body is also I don't like to see it."

"You mean?" I asked putting my hand on my hip.

Tonight we'll all go out for dinner together while celebrating my birthday. Tonight we ate five, me, David, Karin, my other friend Jeni and her boyfriend Jerry.

Jeni has been my best friend since Junior High until now, Jeni and Jerry have been together since the 3rd grade of Junior High, she was a witness of my love story with Adit until we broke up as well as Karin. It felt like a traditional thing for us to go out and celebrate my birthday every year. Actually we always go out and celebrate each other's birthdays, but this year there's David being the new guy in our gang. Usually we would go out to eat something and then take me to a nightclub and try to get me drunk. They've done it before I was 21, but tonight David is here with us, tonight we have to do something. I don't want him to feel like he's hanging out with a bunch of wild immature kids or something.

I feel like this birthday night I'm having weird cravings, I feel like eating sushi along with mushroom pizza with extra cheese with sausage and milkshake slices topping and that's what I ordered. I know I might look like a greedy person but I don't care, it's my birthday.

Then we got dessert - ice cream and cake - and a birthday song sung by a few employees, and even a few other customers joined in, which made me feel really special.

After everything was done, they gave me a present, Jeni and Jerry's gift was a neatly wrapped box and they insisted on telling me to open it when I got home, I felt like the gift was a shoe or something else. Karin bought me one of those really beautiful bracelets, I promise I'll never take it off.

"I'm not sure what to give" David told me.

"It's okay you don't have to give me anything. What's clear is that you're here with me celebrating my birthday with me tonight."

"But I have something for you ... Actually I have two gifts for you" said David placing two small wrapped boxes on the table in front of me, "Hmm, maybe you should open this one first if you don't like the one you can take the second box."

"Why not? I guess I'll love whatever you give me," I smiled at him before tearing the wrapping paper out of the box and opening it, "David ... It's so beautiful, thank you."

wow she gave me a beautiful diamond.

"Wow, that's so pretty."

"Very beautiful" Jeni and Karin said at the same time as I took the necklace from the box.

"OK I promise, I'll never take this necklace off," I chuckled, "Thank you David, I love it."

"Here, let me pair it for you," David replied smilingly as he picked up the necklace and stood up to put it around my neck.

"This is David's best gift" I said, hugging him before he sat back down.

"Hey, what about us?"

Karin, Jeni and Jerry protested.

"I haven't seen your gift, you're from insisting I open it later at home, so I haven't been able to judge your gift, but Karin don't worry your gift is the best too" I told them.

"It's okay, I'm not angry" Karin replied.

"So you can open the second gift now" David said to me, "Since you like the first one, I hope you like this one too. Don't panic, please."

"Why? It's not an engagement or anything, is it?" I jokingly opened the box.

"No, it's not..."

"Why should I be afraid ... Oh my God ... David?" I couldn't believe what the second gift was.

"Is that an engagement ring?" Jerry joking.



"No .... David's? What'sthis?" I nervously pulled the key and fob out of the box.

"No way, is that what I'm thinking?" Karin and Jeni said with surprise and joy.

"You're telling me that you ride online every day to college, so I thought this would make things easier for you," David smiled nervously, "Please tell me you'll take it ... Happy birthday to Naomi."

"Cool," said Jerry, "Is that the key to the red Ferrari I saw up ahead?"

"Yes" Davis replied.

"Jeez Naomi, you just got a really cool car" Jerry told me while I was still in shock.

Omg, Seriously? Did David just buy me a car for my birthday? This is unbelievable.

"What?" I said look at the key in my hand and go back to David "No, no, you just bought me a car? You can't do that ... Why would you do that? You barely even know me.... No, this is too much, I can't take it."

"Naomi, I bought it for you. It's yours, keep it, it's nothing. Now that you don't have to worry about taking public transport or taking an online motorcycle to campus, you don't have to rush and worry about being late, because now you have your own vehicle" David told me.

"David thank you but I can't accept this. Can I take that necklace but the car? The car was a bit too much." I said as I shook my hand while returning the key.

"Naomi, I already have a car. I bought this just for you, I've paid it in cash, it's insured and everything's in order.If I take it back there'll be no use. Please, I want you to take it, I was thinking about you when I bought this car and I know, you must have trouble getting on public transport every day so I want to help you. If you don't accept this, I feel really embarrassed and disappointed." David replied that he still had the key in my hand. "If you're worried I bought you this car and I'm gonna want something in return, not that. I don't buy it with ulterior motives. It was just a gift, it meant nothing to me. I promise you I won't force you into something you don't want just because I bought you a car, I like you so much Naomi, I won't ask you anything. This gift I bought, can you just think of it as a gift from a friend? Like Karin or your other friends here tonight who gave you a present. Naomi, I'm gonna take it."

I really still can't believe this. It's hard to believe that there's a guy I've only known for 3 months, buying me a car.

"David..." I don't know what else to say, but I want to do one thing that will reveal everything I feel right now.

I leaned back, took her face in my hand and kissed her. I could hear Karin and the others cheering as I let David know how I felt towards him.
