"Darling, haven't you slept?" David muttered, tightening his arms around me.
"Hey, go back to sleep" I said to him.
"Are you okay?" David asked turning to the side and turning on the light on his bedside table before turning back to me. "It's 12:34, why don't you sleep?"
How did he know I wasn't sleeping? I've been lying next to David for hours and I still haven't slept in the least. I kept thinking about Aleah's rude and disrespectful attitude towards me, until how long I could hang on with David if he kept acting that way. Not only that, we are going to Citra Highland tomorrow morning to visit and spend a week with her family and I am very nervous.
I've made Aleah hate me, what if his parents and the others don't approve of me as well? All this exaggerated thinking caused me to be unable to sleep. I just don't know how David knows that I don't sleep
"I'm good, I just haven't been able to sleep, maybe I'm feeling really tired" I told her. "Don't worry, go to sleep."
"Hey, what's bothering you?" David asked concerned while propping up his left elbow.
"What's? You said something was bothering me?" I chuckled, "David, I'm fine. Maybe it's all because I drink too much caffeinated."
"No, it's not that. There's a frown on your forehead like you're thinking something." David said to me. "Come on, tell me what's going on."
"All right, all right," I sat closing my eyes before sighing, "I'm so nervous about tomorrow."
"Wait, you mean about us meeting my family?" David asked, sitting down
"Yes, I mean what if they don't like me? Aleah already hates me and I don't know why, I've tried everything but still. What if the others hate me too? What if they judge that I don't fit in with you or ... " David bowed and gave me a short kiss on the lips.
"David I'm serious, what ...." David kissed me again before I could start babbling again.
"Stop worrying, if you keep stressing yourself about trivial things, you'll make yourself feel tense." David said to me, "you don't have to worry, they're all good and they've been trying to convince me to start dating again from centuries ago they'd be so happy to meet you. And Aleah doesn't hate you, he just hasn't been able to adapt, don't worry about him. He's always been like that, that's how he craves attention. Give him a few more days and you'll see him drop his attitude."
"I don't know David, I just think he doesn't like me very much and I'm worried what if the rest of your family don't like me either."
"Naomi stop worrying, okay? They will love you, just as I love you," answered David pulling me into his arms.
"I love you too, David," I said for the first time before kissing her.

"So Naomi, what are you doing?" David's mother asked as we all ate together.
"I ..."
"He's still in college, he's like a kid, too" Aleah spoke.
"Aleah," David said in a warning tone.
"What's? I'm just revealing the truth."
"Nobody asked you a question and you need to keep an eye on yourself. Keep up that disrespectful behavior or are you and I gonna have a problem understanding that?" David said to her, "Naomi is an adult and you need to respect her. You have to apologize right now."
"Why do I always get in trouble when I tell the truth?" Aleah whines as a victim. "Since he's been in"
"I'm sorry, cake," Aleah muttered reluctantly before choosing his meal.
We arrived around 3pm, where David introduced me to his parents. They were both in their sixties and looked very surprised when David presented me to them as his girlfriend. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm actually younger than David.
They spent most of their time interrogating David. Somehow I got a strange feeling that they might not give 100% approval to our relationship and tried to get to know me more deeply before they started judging. However, if Aleah continued with his cold attitude towards me, I doubt they would not want to know me well enough.
"So Naomi, my wife asked me what are you doing?" Ask David's father.
"I'm an honorary teacher," I told them, "I'm actually also in college, I'm going to finish one more year and be a certified teacher."
"Hm. That's good, you like kids?" David's father told me.
"Yes, Om, sure," I smiled a little.
"So, what level?" David's mother asked.
"I'm sorry?" I'm not sure what he's asking right now.
"What level of education do you take to teach?" David's mother asked.
"Oh, I'm pursuing Indonesian education at the secondary level" I replied.
"Oh, High School," he nodded.
"That means you're ready to deal with a bunch of delinquent teenagers like my granddaughter here then" David's father commented.
"I think so, Om. I've been practicing with teenagers like that, I have a sixteen-year-old cousin."
"So you said where's your college?" David's mother asked.
"University of Tunas Harapan."
"I don't think I've heard that before" he replied.
"Oh. So Naomi, you're a full-time student, right? I don't think you're working, so how can you manage your time? School and so on? And what about your life, you don't live together, do you?" ask David's mother, catch me off guard.
"Mom, that's a little overkill" David told her.
"What's? I just want to know. I want to know fully about the woman my son dated, what's wrong with me Naomi?" He asked looking at me.
"I guess you deserve to be curious and want to know more about me, Auntie," I said to her, "Well, I still live with my parents. I'm an only child, so my parents are the ones who finance my life financially until I graduate and are able to afford my own life." I told them without taking into account the fact that David supported me as well.
"You're a lucky boy. Not many parents are still willing to support their children once they turn 18" David's father said.
"I knew. That's why I used as much help as I got," I replied while looking at David.
