Since I started college, I kept counting the years, months, weeks and days left until graduation day. And it all finally arrived today. I officially graduated from college with my undergraduate education degree. All the lecturers continued to encourage us to continue our megister degrees, but honestly I had enough with the lecture for that time, I needed a break from studying.
After the graduation ceremony ended, we went to dinner with my family, the David and Karin families. We just got out together, some kind of dinner aka celebration. I am so happy to finally achieve my title and then celebrate that achievement with the people I love.
"So now that we've finally graduated, are we going to talk about your next big day, now?" Karin asked excitedly.
"You mean marriage?"
"No, I mean your funeral." Karin responded cynically. "Of course it's your marriage. You said you and David waited until we graduated to start discussing the details of the wedding. I can't wait to start meddling in your planning."
"I like it when you're too honest, Karin." I shook my head with laughter.
"Yes, anyway, we're going to discuss marriage right?"
"We haven't discussed anything yet. Graduation was just three days ago Karin, David and I were already planning to hire a designer for the wedding when we had already decided to start planning something." Told him. "I don't want to talk about it yet."
"Why not? You haven't changed your mind about wanting to marry her, have you?" Karin asked in panic.
"No, not yet. I just thought that maybe we could wait a little longer until I get a job." I told her. "I want to be able to
contributing to our marriage. I don't want David to do everything himself. He's not my Daddy anymore. "
"I understand exactly where you're from, but I know David wouldn't agree with you. If you're ready to start planning the wedding, David won't care whether you're at work or not." Karin told me. "He'll tell you if it doesn't matter to him whether you want to contribute or not, even if he's capable of everything."
"I know he can, but he's done a lot for me, Karin. I want to marry her, but I'd love it if I could make a contribution."
"As far as you are, deh." Karin told me. "But if you're planning your wedding right now, what color theme do you want?"
"I don't know, there are so many nice colors that would look beautiful together." I'm responding. "Like pink and green, blue and purple, blue and yellow."
"Naomi, you better make sure you take me when you're meeting with the wedding planner. I can't wait to start helping you plan your wedding."
"I'm also impatient.."
A few moments later, at David's house.
I was looking at some photos of the different types of wedding dresses Karin sent me when David came out of the bathroom. The aroma of soap he uses scallops fragrant bath.
"You are very fragrant." I said right before my phone was taken from my hand
"David hey, why?" My question was interrupted when David's lips kissed me.
I kissed her back the same way she kissed me.
"Why did you suddenly kiss me?" I asked a little breathless, I tried to catch my breath as we pulled away from each other.
"I just want you to have a few minutes." David responded before kissing me once more.
Her lips finally dangled to my neck and shoulders where I felt she left a small kiss and sucked gently. I smiled as I closed my eyes and gave him more access. David kept kissing my shoulder and tried to remove the thin string of my blouse from my shoulder. I knew exactly what he wanted and I happily gave it to him; making love with passion.
"Don't I tell you I love you so much?" David asked kissing my head as we hugged each other.
"Over a hundred times." I smiled when I kissed his chest.
"I won't forget. And so you always remember too, I love you too."
My phone rang again when another WhatsApp message came in.
"Someone really wants to bother you." Said David taking my phone from the side table where he put it earlier and handing it to me. "It's been the fifty times, I heard it. Is that an emergency?"
"No, it's just Karin." I told him I unlocked my phone and opened the message. "She just sent me a lot of pictures to look at."
"What kind of picture? Graduation photos?" Ask David.
"No, picture of the dress." I'm responding.
"Yet? What kind of dress? Oh that kind of dress." David said after glancing at one of the photos I had opened.
"Yes, she sent me pictures of wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses all night."
"Have you chosen which one you like?" David asked me.
"lots. Everything is so exciting." I told him.
"We agreed that we would start discussing and planning the wedding details after graduation. Do you think we can start doing it now?" Ask David
"You want us to start making plans now?" I asked him.
"Didn't that?" David asked back.
"I just .. but ..."
"But? Did you change your mind about our marriage?" David asked concerned.
"No, no. It's just, I want to be able to contribute to marriage in a certain way." I told him.
"Whatchu mean? Isn't planning and discussing details contributing?"
"I didn't mean it that way. I mean money contributions." I told her. "I want to wait until I get to work so that all expenses aren't just from you."
"Naomi, you just graduated not even a week. I don't want to wait that long to start planning our wedding. If we can start making the necessary preparations for the wedding in the next two months then I'll love it."
"David did you hear what I said earlier about not wanting you to handle all those expenses alone?"
"I understand that, but I think you're always worried about trivial things." David responded. "You know, I can be more than enough to pay for anything. I don't want to wait another year before we get married. We can call the wedding planner even tomorrow."
"David" I opened my mouth to protest, but David kissed me and silenced me.
"All contributions let me make the decision, be it a place, a party, an invitation, a dress etc. And lastly, make sure you don't show up on the wedding day." David said it made me laugh.
"You really think I'm gonna leave you standing at the altar?" I laughed before giving her a kiss. "That's the last thing I'm gonna do to you, David."
"good. Because I have to hunt you down and get you indicted for breaking my heart." David said to me.
"You don't have to worry about that, baby. I will never break your heart."
