I was in the bathroom washing my clothes, and suddenly Dad came and leaned against the door.

"Hey Dad," I said as I began to separate the white clothes from the colored clothes.

"Hey," I heard him respond but father didn't say anything else after that.

"Uhm, do you want anything?" I asked to look at him.

"No one" Dad shook his head.

"Okay," I replied.

Almost five minutes later after washing, Dad was still lurking at the door and had not said anything until now and this was really strange.

"Dad's watching me?" I asked him, "Make sure I wash clothes, right?"

"Huh?" Dad asked me to look at me confused.

"Daritadi's father had been leaning on that door for about five minutes. So I assumed that dad was just making sure I washed the clothes properly. Don't worry, Dad, I get it now. I've been learning to wash properly since I was 12." I smiled at her, "I won't mix the colored clothes with the white ones anymore."

"No, not that" I chuckled,

"I know that," I chuckled while shaking my head, "I know who this is about. It's gotta be about David, right, Dad?"

"Right, David," I said, "You think he's a doctor?"

"Yes, Dad, David owns the clinic and operates it himself" I told him.

"good. I think I might have gone to school together," Dad said in a teasing tone that made me squint.

"Dad ...," I said in a cautionary tone.

"Naomi, I can't take it anymore, that guy's your age, he's a senior."

"Dad, he's only forty years old" I told him.

"To be exactly eighteen years older than you. When he started college, you celebrated your first birthday." Dad said to me, "When he finishes college, you're already in second grade."

"I understand what Dad said. I know David's a few years older than me."

"Naomi. That person can even be your father, too" he told me, "In law enforcement where you work, there are names for people like him."

"A pedophile" replied Dad.

"Dad, a pedophile is someone who sexually preys on minors and I'm not a child. I'm a grown-up Dad" I told him.

"Naomi, I know you're financially unable and haven't been able to buy you a car, but I'm not that bad, I'm really struggling."

"I mean dad?"

"I mean dad, people like him know that they can afford certain things so they can buy your affection too and all of it with expensive things like cars and ..."

"Not because that's why I'm with David, Dad," I told him, "and he doesn't have to buy my love by offering anything."

"Do you like it?" Dad asked me.

"Yes Dad, I like it. I really like David" I replied. "And it's not about material things or anything, I don't really care about it. David's a really great guy, he's smart, funny, nice, charming. He's a good guy and I'm comfortable being around him and the age difference doesn't really matter. He doesn't make me uncomfortable by his side or try to force me into things I don't want. He was really empathic and gave me spirit and he always listened to me when I spoke. And pretending to listen like everyone else, he sincerely listened and gave great advice. That's why I love it, cars and other gifts are just a bonus. "

"So he treated you like that?" Dad asked still surprised by everything I just told him.

"Indeed he's by far the best and I don't know if he'll change later, but for now he's the ideal guy and the fact he's well established and it makes me more interested in him," I said to Dad "I gave him a chance and I really want you guys to try to take it as well."

"All right, all right," sighed Dad. "If you're sure he treats you that way, I think you can give him a chance to get to know him better. Your mother seems to have accepted it so maybe I can too."

"Thank you, Dad, I really appreciate that," I smiled at him.

"But I'm just curious about one thing" Dad said.

"What's that?" i asked.

"Are you sure this guy is still single? I mean, most men his age are usually married, have wives and children at home, but they still just go out and look for younger women to ..."

"Dad! Come on, just said I'd give him a chance and now you doubt it?" I frowned.

"I said I'd try and I didn't doubt it. I just want to know Naomi, I know how some men can be like that." He replied, "You are my daughter, I don't want to see you hurt. So I was just curious and curious. "

"He was married once but, his wife died about four years ago." I replied, "She decided to try dating one more time, so well look now, we are dating. Can you give him a chance now?"

"Well," he answered, raising his palms, "But if he hurts you, remember that your father has a gun."

"Dad!
