Chapter 36 - Astral Gate

"all of you go and help Mr. Shun! These monsters will stop coming if their leader is defeated!" Shouted the Commander in the fort at the back of the village.

"But what if they come in?" Ask one of the soldiers.

"Me and some people will continue to guard this fortress, now go and help master Shun!" Reply Commander.

"Good sir!" Shouted all the soldiers, then most of them ran into the village leaving the commander and some other soldiers there.

"Ughhhh..!" Iona was still trying to move closer to the table where her magic book was placed. After a while Iona finally arrived at the table. Then kicked the leg of the table, making his magic book fall down and open. "Good!" Iona said then recited the spell inside the book and instantly a strong wind appeared and cut the rope that tied her hand. "I'm free!"

Slowly opening the door, Iona saw from the thin door hole. The two soldiers standing guard at the door were no longer there. "Where are they?" Iona asked and he went out of the tower.

Izuru jumped from the thick fog with a sword burning with flames. "I... I won't lose here..!" Shouted Nishiki. But Izuru instantly slashed towards him, until an explosion occurred and they both bounced away. The explosion made the fog around there disappear and the undead were also seen around him, Shun who initially could not see could finally see.

"A lot of undead!?" Said Shun starting to kill the Undead that appeared nearby. Then he looked around and saw Izuru falling on the ground. "Izuru!" Call Shun running over. "You okay?" Ask Shun.

"Did you see that!? I defeated him with a fiery slash!" Tanya Izuru looked excited.

"I don't see, the fog is thick." Answer Shun.

"Arrgh... Fucking fog!" Izuru shouted annoyedly.

Nishiki who was slumped on the ground slowly started to rise with his body full of burns. "Well... Huh... I underestimated it too much." Nishiki woke up slowly. Moments later the soldiers came and surrounded him.

"Everyone help Mr. Shun!" Shouted one of the soldiers, then all the soldiers finished off the remaining Undead.

"You've lost now!" Said Izuru walking a bit limping towards Nishiki with Shun.

"I underestimated you too much." Nishiki said in front of Izuru and Shun. "But, you guys are also underestimating me too!" Nishiki said, he then read a spell by extending his hand and in front of his hand appeared a large magic circle.

"This seems less good. Everybody back!" Said Shun retreating in front of the entire army along with Izuru.

"What are you doing?" Ask Izuru.

"Something's gonna change things." Answer Nishiki. "Receive my ultimate move...!" Shouted Nishiki, the magic circle in the one in front of his hand turned small and then spat out a drop of blood, which then fell to the ground. After a few seconds the ground around there spits blood up to an eye-level.

"What's this!? Blood came up from the ground!" Said one of the soldiers.

"What are you doing!?" Ask Izuru.

"You'll know." Nishiki replied, then a strong tremor was felt from the ground. Something huge emerged from the forest behind Nishiki, the trees lifted up and fell back. The object was 20 meters up and after the whole thing appeared, it was only seen that it was a very large gate. "Open the gates of the ghost town! Astral Gate's..." Nishiki said, then the gate opened instantly. The sound of shouting, and crying sounded extremely loud from within the gate, glowing red eyes also sprung up in the darkness. The black spirits came out from the gate towards Izuru and the others.

"They are so many, all defend the village! Let no one come in!" Shouted Shun, then all the soldiers prepared their own weapons. Shun then advanced and slashed at one ghost, but his slash pierced through the ghost's body. "What!?" Shun said in surprise and the black ghost also pierced through Shun's body. "Armghh!!" Shun shouted in pain.

Everyone there who tried to attack the ghosts suddenly felt pain and helplessness after the ghost passed through them. All the soldiers even Izuru was also sitting on the ground unable to move. "What the fuck?" Ask Izuru. Then all the ghosts were pulled back into the gate, and the gate closed.

"Why is this, my body feels so weak!" Shun said on the ground.

"That's because I've taken all your mana!" Answer Nishiki.

"What's!? So that ghost took where everyone was?" Izuru asked in surprise.

"My whole body was tickling, where a lot of it was flowing in my blood! Now, I can finish you all off at once." Nishiki said with a sly smile. Everyone there tried to get up but nothing worked. "Now I just have to do one more thing." Nishiki said, then turned his hand up and shot a light upwards, which then descended into the middle of the village. It turns out that he was after Rin who was watching from the top of the house.

"What's!? Uhhh...!" Rin shouts falling from the house that exploded due to Nishiki's shot.

"It's over, now nothing will stand in my way anymore." Nishiki said with a sly smile.

"You forgot one!" Iona then emerges from the fort. Then he walked forward past everyone there.

"Yona!?" Shun said surprised.

"You're right, I forgot one man. But I don't really care about you. Now I'm going to destroy all of you along with this village." Nishiki said, then in front of him appeared a fairly large magic circle. "With all this mana, I can destroy this village with one strike."

"I won't let it!"

"You'd better run while you can." Nishiki said let Iona go. The magic circle in front of him started to change and shine.

"What should I do? Should I run like I used to? I have to run without fighting for anything?" Ask Iona in my heart.

"One thing you should remember, never use dark element magic. That's a taboo in this family." Said a woman in front of little Iona's desk.

"Iona, in this book there is something forbidden. But, it might be useful. Remember, follow your heart, don't get too attached to the rules." Said Iona's grandfather who was very old.

"Grandfather, Dark magic is a forbidden thing to use in my family. But, if it was to save my friends, I would willingly betray the family tradition!" Iona said in his heart. Then he opened his magic book to the very back page and began to cast spells.

"It's too late!" Her magic circle shone brighter and sparks emerged from the magic circle. "Life-destroying light, Armageddon Blast..!" Shouted Nishiki, light shot from the magic circle towards Iona and everyone there.

"No, it's not too late!"
