Chapter 33 - Solar Eclipse

In a dark room with brick walls that seemed to have been abandoned for a long time, visible through the faint light from the window, Nishiki, a necromancer who had attacked the village sat on a throne seat. "I play with them too often." Nishiki said while holding a small cage with something inside. It shook the cage, and the thing inside moved in revolt by nibbling on the iron bars near Nishiki's face. Then the cage was placed on a table beside the throne. "For the next attack I'll take out the rest of my army. Just look, I made sure the village was wiped off the map." Nishiki said with a serious look.

"I can't believe Iona tried to kill me." Shun said sitting on the bed.

"Just calm down, this must be due to the curse effect of the necromancer. We'll assume this never happened before." Said Izuru standing in front of Shun.

Suddenly someone came inside. "Mr Shun, I heard your conversation. Is that right, Iona tried to kill you?" Ask Sayaka, a member of Shun's party.

"Sayakas? You hear everything?" Shun asked in surprise.

"Yes, I heard everything. If that's true, I can't just let it go!" Sayaka answered and went out of there.

"Sayaka, wait!" Said Shun calling Sayaka, but he couldn't keep her from leaving.

"It's terrible, he'll definitely tell everyone!" Izuru said, then he immediately ran out. Izuru looked around, looking for Sayaka not to tell others what she heard.

"Where is Sayaka?" Shun asked out as well.

"I didn't see it." Answer Izuru.

"We have to find him!" Shun said then ran along with Izuru, but in a different direction.

Izuru continued running without any direction, then he saw the crowd. There was a girl among the adventurers. Izuru immediately ran towards them. "Sayakas!" Call Izuru and then hold the girl's shoulder. Turns out he was someone else, "ah sorry, I got the wrong guy." Izuru said and left. "Damn, where else should I look?" Izuru asked confusedly.

After a few minutes they both returned to the tower. "How's it?" Ask Shun.

"I can't find him." Izuru replied then he looked to the side and was immediately surprised.

"There's whataaa...!? Ehh... Sayaka!?" Said Shun surprised to see Sayaka with the commander and some other soldiers. "Commander? What are you here for?" Shun asked as if he knew nothing.

"Mr Shun, is it true that one of your followers is planning a murder on you?" Ask Commander.

"That's true, but..."

Plaque..! Izuru slapped Shun's mouth and pulled his collar. "Can you just be honest once?" Izuru asked with a sharp look.

"What are you guys doing?" Ask commander.

"There's nothing." Answer Izuru release Shun.

"So, the point is that everything this lady says is true? If that's true, I can't allow it! This is the first time the Zergaken Family has failed to educate a companion to the chosen heroes. I'll tell them that Mr. Shun can get a better companion." Commander said.

"You don't have to do that, Commander! I'll finish this personally." Shun.

"This is not only for personal gain, but also for the benefit of the whole country. This cannot be underestimated!" The commander said then barged into Iona's room. "Wake him!" Commander said.

"No way, I just gave her a sleeping spell." Answer Izuru.

"I can!" Sayaka said emerging from the crowd. Then he recites a spell and Iona wakes up, but she seems confused.

"So it's true. After the attack is over I will take you to your family, you must take responsibility for what you did! I asked some soldiers to guard this place and others I asked to get out of here, including you, Mr. Shun." The commander said, then they all came out of the tower.

"Damn, why is this getting worse? Iona may be punished severely. The death penalty is possible, because as the commander said, it concerns the fate of the whole country." Izuru said in his heart.

"Please don't kill me! I'll do anything!" Said a frightened soldier in the middle of the room like an offering room.

"I don't need a weakling like you in my army." Nishiki replied as he walked over with a sword. Then he slashed at the soldier and a head rolled. The soldier's body fell on a floor filled with patterns, blood coming out of the head flowing into the paths on the floor.

After a few seconds, the lights glowed. "The ritual was successful, it's time for the attack." Nishiki said and left the room.

Izuru who was in Rin's room, suddenly the light from the window dimmed. Izuru then got up from the chair and walked towards the window. "Constable? It might rain today." Izuru said he wanted to close the window, but he was very surprised when he looked up. "aaa.... Aa...what is that?" Izuru asked in surprise.

Everyone in the room one by one came out and looked up at the sky. "What's going on?" Ask the commander to see everyone outside.

"Commander, look at that!" Said one of the soldiers pointing upwards. The commander looked up and was surprised to see a large moon moving rapidly over the sun.

"Sun eclipse?" Said Izuru looking at the slowly blackening sky.

"Hey you! What's going on?" Shun asked from behind.

"I have a name you know? Today's solar eclipse." Answer Izuru.

"Solar eclipse? Does this happen often in this world?" Ask Shun.

"I don't know, I'm not from this world."

"Eh? That means you are also reincarnated!?" Shun asked in surprise.

"That's true, but we'll discuss that later. Let's go meet the commander!" Said Izuru running followed by Shun. "Commander!"

"Master Shun?" The commander looked back.

"Why is it called Shun? By the way what is the current normal solar eclipse happening?" Ask Izuru.

"No, it's not like usual. Supposedly a solar eclipse only lasts 2 times for 5 years, but this time it's not on schedule." Obviously commander.

"Is this an eclipse that someone intentionally made?" Ask Izuru.
