"Thank you, sir. Pick me up at four o'clock in the afternoon, yeah!" rima Pinta.
"Well, ma'am," replied Mr. Joko, Rima's personal driver.
The driver who was delivering Rima had just left with his car. Rima stared at the simple house in the suburban area. The house used to be his boarding place while still in college. He was a little hesitant to ascertain whether the house was the correct address because it was somewhat different from the previous one.
Tok tok tok tok
Rima knocked on the door of the house. A woman of her age was seen opening the door. His appearance looks shabby like he just did household chores to make clothes worn seedy and hair a little messy.
"Ah, Rhymes!" the woman was surprised. He wiped the sweat on his forehead with the tip of his shirt.
The woman was Yunita, the son of the owner of the house that Rima used to occupy. Indeed, actually the house is not a boarding place. Yunita who is Rima's best friend only pity the fate of her best friend who lives in the city.
Yunita offers Rima to stay at her house. Because Rima did not feel good if she stayed, she paid the rent to Yunita's mother every month.
The rent was nothing compared to what Yunita and her family had given her. Even Rima was already considered as her own child by Yunita's mother, what they ate was what Rima ate.
Rima has had no parents since Junior High. He lived with his uncle's family until graduating high school. He could not stand the attitude of his aunt who liked to make herself do all the housework.
While in college, he decided to leave his uncle's house and start living independently. He paid for college with money from his work and also savings from the inheritance left by his mother.
Lucky he met a guy as good as Arjun. The man loved himself sincerely regardless of his background. His life became more prosperous after marriage. Moreover, he can also be one of the managers in the restaurant owned by the Arjun family.
His well-sufficient life turned out to be inversely proportional to Yunita. His best friend had a terrible life, worse than ever.
Since getting married and busy working, Rima is very rarely able to meet with Yunita. He did not know that Yunita's life could be that bad. Even the house that was in front of him was now starting to rickety like it had never been renovated.
"Rima, come on in!"
Invite Yunita to disperse the Rima daydream. "Ah, yes. Come on in," he said.
Rima stepped foot into the seedy-looking courtyard of the house filled with dry foliage litter scattered about. The walls of the walls are shabby and many cracks like to collapse.
"I'm sorry, yes, my house is a mess" said Yunita who seemed reluctant to invite Rima into her house. Rima's appearance is now very fashionable and beautiful like a socialite woman.
The view inside the house also looks very dirty like an unkempt warehouse. Though in the past according to Rima it was a house that was very worthy to live in.
Even the seats that had to be occupied were still the same as before. The difference is, the condition of the chair is currently worn and damaged.
It seems that since Yunita's mother died the house has lost its life. He wondered why Yunita would be like that.
"Yes, Rima. You didn't call me if you wanted to come."
Yunita brought her a cup of tea and two jars of snacks to serve in front of Rima.
"You don't have to bother, Yun. I'm not someone else" Rima said.
"Yes, since you've been considered a brother I don't feel good giving you a potluck banquet."
The two looked at each other and exchanged smiles. Each of them had their own thoughts towards the person in front of him.
"Thank you, yeah. I was married for four years and was only able to get pregnant" she said, stroking her stomach.
"How many months?" ask Yunita.
"Eight months' walk."
"Oh, that means soon, yeah! Hopefully everything will be good."
"Thank you for that." Rima could only smile hearing the prayers from Yunita. "What were you doing? It seems like my arrival is interfering with your work" he asked.
"Ah, no ... I just finished washing clothes. I also dried it. That's why my clothes got a little wet, right?" Yunita answered that with a cheerful tone of speech as forced. Actually he felt awkward and hesitant to face Rima who is now different in class with him.
"Are you married yet, Yun?" ask Rima.
"Mahaha ...." Yunita laughed at Rima's question. "You are just there. There are people who want to be with poor women like me" Yunita said.
"But Mas Arjun wants to be with me" said Rima. He disagrees if economic status becomes an obstacle to getting a life partner.
Yunita's face turned grim. "If you're any different, Rim. Even though you're an orphan, I think it's better than having a father" Yunita said.
Rima had forgotten that Yunita still had a father. As far as he knows, Yunita's father works as a market thug who is a gambling hobby and intoxicated. So, Yunita was able to survive thanks to her mother who worked as a tailor at a pretty famous boutique there.
"Does your father still cause trouble?"
Yunita nodded, confirming the question from Rima. "The debt is many and what is always being charged is me. I guess until I die from work I won't be able to pay off my father's debt."
He took a deep breath. Given his father's outrageous behavior makes him always want emotions. However, he recalled that after all the man was still his father. His mother was also able to be patient until the end of her life.
"Why don't you just go, Yun ... Is that not your responsibility?" Rima who just looked at it was upset.
Yunita just smiled. He knew that if he did not want to pay the debt, his father would become a corpse. He still hopes that one day his father can turn into a responsible man.
"Here you go, Rim, this is my responsibility as well" Yunita said resignedly. "Oh, yes. What about your mother-in-law?" tanyakanya.
Rima's early marriage was still close to Yunita. He recounts his mediocre in-laws' attitude even though he was just a commoner. However, a few months after Rima's marriage did not become pregnant, her mother-in-law did not care about her.
"Since I was pregnant she's been kind, Yun," said Rima.
"Oh, thank goodness. I'm glad to see your life as happy as it is now."
Rima smiled stiffly listening to him. Yunita does not know what problems are now facing her until she does not dare to tell anyone. Maybe from outside his life looks envious of others. However, behind it were many cries that he had to shed.
