With heavy footsteps and deep uneasiness, Arjun enters the doctor's room to seek reassurance of the doubts that have haunted him. In a well-lit room, the friendly doctor sits behind his desk with a medical file in his hand.
"Doctor," said Arjun in a trembling voice, "I want to know the results of the DNA test I requested some time ago."
The doctor looked at Arjun seriously and nodded. "Of course, Mr. Arjun. I've got the results in the shortest time possible."
DNA testing should take a long time. However, as Arjun continued to urge immediate release of the results, the doctor quickly performed the requested DNA test.
Arjun gulped his saliva, his heart pounding even tighter. He felt an anxiety lingering in every fiber of his body as he waited for the doctor to open the medical file.
The doctor took a deep breath and began reading out the results of the DNA test. "According to the results of the DNA tests done, genetically, Renjun is not your biological child, Mr. Arjun. There's no match at all between you and your child."
Arjun fell silent, glued to his place. Everything felt as if it was spinning in confusion. He felt his world crumble in an instant. Every story he ever wrote about a happy family and the comfort he felt so far, is now replaced by chaos and loss.
"Don't joke, Doc!" arjun said while chuckling. It was almost crazy to know that the child he loved so much was not his flesh and blood. His heart hurts so much.
"Try to calm yourself first, sir," said the Doctor.
"Doctor... What's... What should I do?" arjun's voice sounded fragile. He could not hold back the dam of tears that flowed from the corner of his eyes. His hands look shaky. He wanted to scream out his disappointment.
The doctor takes a closer position to Arjun, showing empathy and wisdom in his gaze. "First of all, I want to say that this is not an easy thing to deal with. However, the most important thing is the well-being and happiness of Renjun. The child is too young to understand this."
In his belief, he could not accept that Rima would cheat on him. Their relationship was excellent during the marriage. In fact, after the birth of Renjun the two became increasingly friendly.
The doctor raised his hand, trying to calm Arjun down. "At this time, it is best to talk to your wife in person and get an explanation directly from her. There may be unknown reasons or there may be misunderstandings occurring."
Arjun sighed, trying to organize his chaotic thoughts. He realized the importance of talking to Rima, even though his mind was still filled with unanswered questions.
"Thank you, Doctor," Arjun said in a worried voice. He wiped his tears. "I'll try to solve this wisely."
The doctor gave Arjun a slight smile. "I'll support you in this process, Mr. Arjun. You are not alone in this situation. Rendering is paramount, and we must keep its interests and well-being above all else. Moreover, the child had just gotten a disaster and was still in a period of healing."
Arjun just nodded.
"This is your DNA test. Please take it and use it as needed" the doctor said, handing the sheet to Arjun.
"Thank you, Doctor. Excuse me first" said Arjun while receiving the paper.
