The Father-in-law Seed

The Father-in-law Seed
Chapter 81

Rima sat with a blank look in the quiet room, faced by a psychiatrist sitting in front of her. The atmosphere felt tense, reflecting the heavy burden in the room. The clean white walls reflected the soft light from the room lights, creating a calm yet tense atmosphere.

"Mother Rima, I'm here to help. I'd like to understand what you're going through. Talk to me, let's find a solution together" said the psychiatrist named Tika who was assigned to handle the Rima case.

Rima, with a deep blank look, silently did not let out a word. His facial expression did not show any emotion, as if he was separated from the outside world.

Tika noticed the state of Rima. "Mother Rima, I know that you have confessed to the crime you committed. However, it is important for us to understand the reason behind that action and find a way to improve yourself." He kept trying to lure Rima into talking. He was there thirty minutes.

Rima remained silent, her eyes blank and expressionless. He seemed to be drowning in an unexplainable void.

"Mother Rima, what are you feeling right now? Do you feel relief after acknowledging your actions?"

Tika kept trying to dig up information. Although upset, he tried to patiently face the depressed-looking woman.

Rima did not answer. His empty gaze continued to stare into the void, as if looking at something that no one else could see.

Tika put on a face. "Mother Rima, you don't have to go through this alone. There is help available to you. We can find ways to help you get the support you need. We can take your freedom."

Rima, calmly, shook his head. His soft voice was heard but it was clear in his absence. "I don't want any help. I deserve the punishment for my actions. Let me stay in jail. I don't want to be released" he said.

Tika widened her eyes, surprised to hear Rima's words. "Remember, you are now pregnant, Miss Rima."

Usually the suspect will feel happy if the possibility can escape punishment. However, Rima was different. He refused to be released from his sentence.

Rima smiled a little. "Can I drop it?"

"I didn't expect it to exist."

"He's got nothing wrong, Mom!" Tika cut off Rima's speech. "He cannot choose which womb to grow in. Do you have the heart to hurt a completely innocent baby?"

"Then what should? My life is ruined. If he is born he will be blasphemed for having a mother like me" he said.

Tika shakes. "The worst thing about a mother is that she will always look like an angel in the eyes of her children."

Tika took Rima's hand and grasped it. "You have to be excited. For your own sake, as well as for your child's future," he persuaded. "We will try our best to release you" he added.

Rima let go of that hand. "I still want to stay here" he said with a chuckle.

"You will have trouble if placed in a regular cell. Especially if you are pregnant. What happened was also not entirely your fault" Tika said.

Rima. Tika understands that the woman who is now in front of him is like wanting to punish herself for what has happened.

"Rima, it's important to understand that your life is also precious. You have the opportunity to improve yourself and create a better future, especially for the child you bear. Why do you refuse help to free yourself from this burden?"

Rima was still silent, his eyes remained empty, but there was a faint doubt appearing within them. He seemed to be caught in deep despair.

"I'll stay here to listen and help you if you're ready to receive help. Don't let your future be locked in the darkness you are currently experiencing. You deserve a chance to improve your life."
