The Father-in-law Seed
Chapter 73

In a tense atmosphere, meticulously trained police officers put handcuffs on Yunita and Rima's hands. They were both closely watched, while several other police officers ensured security around. Jonathan, who was still inside the apartment, was shocked to see Rima among those being secured.

Jonathan approached one of the police officers with a puzzled look on his face. "Sorry, what's going on? Why is Rima here?" he asked in a surprised tone.

The police officer replied calmly, "Right now, we are investigating Mr Sandi's death in this apartment. They were the two people involved in this incident. We have to bring them in for further questioning."

Jonathan looked at Rima's eyes that looked empty. The woman's appearance looked disheveled and covered in blood. It was hard to believe Arjun's wife would be involved in such a matter.

Jonathan tried to process the information. His face was filled with a mixture of confusion and worry. "But... what made them involved in the death of the stepfather?" he muttered in a soft voice.

Some of the apartment dwellers who had gathered around saw Rima and Yunita being secured, began to speculate about the motive for the murder that occurred. One of the residents said to his friend in a whispering tone.

"No! Ew! The culprit was taken out!" exclaimed one of the mothers berdaster very curious.

"Huh, it's all women? They killed Mr. Sandi, huh?" ask a woman of small and short stature.

"I don't know either!"

"Why, huh? Did they call Mr Sandi?"

The other occupants who heard the conversation, nodded in agreement. "Possibly so. I've seen one of them, the beautiful one, come to Pak Sandi's apartment often," she said in a muffled voice.

"I heard that Mr. Sandi already has a wife."

"Maybe the beautiful woman is his mistress and the other his legal wife."

"It could be so."

"What the hell, just connect!" the word on the mother in negligee dress with a glance that hints at dislike.

Meanwhile, Yunita and Rima were secured out of the apartment looking at the crowded surroundings with residents and curious onlookers. Their faces were filled with anxiety and uncertainty about their fate. Along the way they continue to be the center of attention.

"Come, please go inside" said the female police officer politely.

Both were ordered to get into police cars. Several journalists were running to ask for information.

"Sir, sir, wait a minute, we haven't interviewed!" one journalist protested with his breath in a frenzy after running from quite a distance.

"Later the interview at the police station" one of the police officers told reporters not to interfere with the security process.

"Well, sir, just for a second. I also work on finding news. Don't get in the way of this, sir!" protest of the journalist.

"We are also carrying out our duties, please obey the rules."

"Whoa. The police are not cool!"

Slowly the car carrying Rima and Yunita started to drive. The dense crowd makes it difficult for cars to move. Another police officer tried to open the road.

"This. You wear the mask, we will go to the police station" said one of the female police officers who accompanied while giving masks to cover the faces of the two women.

In these difficult circumstances, they realize how important a fair and transparent process of inquiry is to uncover the truth behind Sandi's death and their role in the events.
