The Father-in-law Seed

The Father-in-law Seed
Chapter 80

Suni looked at her husband's coffin. The decoration of the white rose that filled the house added to the feeling of sorrow in his heart.

The whole family, relatives, and co-workers took turns to pay their last respects to Sandi. They also spoke condolences to Suni.

"Have you heard the issue yet?"

"What's? What's?"

A group of women who like to gossip are discussing yesterday's events in a soft tone.

"I heard that the one who killed Mr. Sandi was his own daughter-in-law, Ms. Rima, right? Mr Arjun's wife?"

"Masa, anyway? That's impossible!"

"Yes, it's impossible. Arjun's wife is famous as a good woman."

"Well, who knows their real lives. It might just be imaging."

"Eh, uh ... Listen, deh! There's something more horrendous than that, you know!"

"What's? Say it!"

"Some of you told me that Mr. Arjun's wife was cheating on him with Mr. Sandi!"

"Heh, it's impossible ... They're sons-in-law and in-laws."

"Some of you have seen Ms. Prita come to Pak Sandi's apartment. Not just once, but often! Alone again. Why would a daughter-in-law come to see her own father-in-law if it wasn't for nothing."

"Ehm! Um!"

A waiter who heard the gossipy women's gathering ventured closer. "Sorry, Madam. Excuse me for passing by," he said.

The presence of the waiter immediately stopped the useless conversation. The waiter brought a tray of snacks and placed it on the table where the dish was served.

Such a conversation was not once this faint-heartedness sounded in Suni's ears. From the police and some of Sandi's apartment neighbors, indeed they said that Rima often came there, without her knowledge.

He just did not expect Sandi who always seemed to love herself as she was could have an affair with their own daughter-in-law.

"Ma," said Arjun.

Suni held back her tears so as not to appear weak before her son. "Why, Jun?" tanyakanya.

"It's about ...."

"If you want to talk about Rima, I won't forgive her! The judicial process will continue" Suni said as if she already knew the direction of Arjun's discussion.

Although Rima is her daughter-in-law, taking the life of her beloved husband is unforgivable. He felt hurt, especially betrayed. He remained adamant about sending Rima to prison despite his self-defense goals.

"It's about Renjun" Arjun said.

Suni turned towards her son. He looked at the child with a sharp look. "You still want to think about that kid? He's not your son, Arjun! That fucking woman ...."

Suni could not continue her words. He was too upset whenever he remembered that his favorite grandson was the result of an affair between his husband and son-in-law.

Arjun tried to persuade his mother. Although Rima had said it was okay if Renjun was sent to the orphanage, Arjun felt unbearable. For two years he had thought of it as his own flesh and blood.

"That's a consequence that must be accepted by a child born of a despicable woman. I won't accept that child here anymore!" suni resolute.

"But, Renjun is also Papa Sandi's son, Ma. Didn't Mama love him so much?" ask Arjun.

Suni fell silent. He immediately put his sunglasses on to cover the tears that were about to come out.

He really loves Sandy. But, that betrayal left a tremendous fury towards Renjun.

"If you still insist on keeping her at home, don't blame her for being rude to her!" sonny Ancam. He steps away leaving Arjun to stop the conversation.

Arjun could only sigh. He could not force his mother to accept Renjun.

Arjun walked out of the room towards the front gate. There was Rima and Renjun waiting for him.

"Papa ..." cried Runjun excited when Arjun came. He even tried to escape from Yunita's arms.

Yunita lowered the Runjun. The boy ran into Arjun's arms still willing to accept Renjun.

"How, honey, are you well?" ask Arjun.

"Papa, where's Mama? Renjun want Mama," said Renjun with a whining tone while he was shooting.

Arjun looked towards Yunita.

"Since yesterday she kept asking her mother, Jun. But, Rima did not want to see Renjun," Yunita said with a puzzled look on her face.

"Why did he refuse to meet his own son?" ask Arjun wonder.

"He didn't want his son to see him being held as a murderer. He asked me to take him as far away from here as possible" Yunita replied.

Arjun was also confused by Rima's will.

"Your mother definitely won't accept Renjun, will she?" guess Yunita.

Arjun did not answer. However, Yunita could guess for herself the answer. If indeed Suni would accept, Renjun would have been brought inside to participate in the funeral.

"Yes already, Jun. Let me runjun I bring it home. He has just recovered from the hospital and still needs a lot of rest. You just accompany your mother to let me take care of her, " Yunita said.

"Yes, Yun. Thank you for the help. I trust you with Rennjun" said Arjun.

"No need ... Want to be with Papa. Run with Papa!"

Renjun refuses when Arjun is about to hand the boy over to Yunita.

"Renjun, it can't be like that. Come with Aunt Yunita first, yeah! Later, if Mama and Papa have finished their work, they will come to play with Renjun," Arjun said.

"No want! Not want!"

As Renjun continued to resist, Arjun handed Renjun by force to Yunita. Yunita swiftly carried Renjun's run towards her taxi. Even though the boy kept crying for his father, Yunita still had the heart to take Renjun away from there.
