Chapter 74

The group carrying Rima and Yunita arrived at the police station with a tight escort. The atmosphere at the police station was tense and serious. Rima looked crushed, her face was pale and her eyes were empty. His steps felt heavy as he was led into the investigation room.

"Please come in,"

The police officer opened the door of the investigation room and directed Rima to sit in the chair provided. The room looked cold and sterile, with a single table in the middle filled with various documents and investigation equipment.

Rima sat down with a limp body and looked around her blankly. His expression depicted a person who had fallen into the abyss of despair and confusion. In the tense silence, the ticking of the clock on the wall sounded like a slow death move.

The investigator in charge started a conversation with Rima. "Mrs Rima, we need a description from you about the events that happened in the apartment and Sandi's death. We implore your cooperation in assisting this investigation."

However, Rima remained silent. His eyes were empty, and not a word came out of his mouth. Every question asked by the investigator received no response. He looked like a person who was estranged from the world, locked in the silence that enveloped his mind.

The investigator tried once again, this time in a softer tone, "Mrs Rima, please tell me what happened. Any information you provide can help us understand the situation better."

However, Rima only looked far away in an unclear direction. He seemed to be caught up in a deep feeling of depression, and words seemed unable to escape from his tightly clenched lips.

"ah! I don't even want to talk!" annoyed the investigator while ruffling his own hair.

The detective present in the room exchanged a worried look. They realize that Rima is not an easy witness to face. His crumbling, crumbling condition signaled a heavy burden of thoughts and emotions.

Detective Bono, who has been well versed in sensitive cases, approaches the investigation table where Rima is sitting with concern. Rima was silent, her eyes still empty, but there was a softness that radiated from Detective Bono's gaze. Another detective, Detective Rami, realizes that this situation does require a more sensitive approach.

Rima was still speechless, but her eyes showed a hint of life. Detective Bono gives a piece of paper with the psychological team's contact number.

"This is the contact number of our psychological team. If you feel ready to talk or if you need someone to listen, feel free to contact them. They're here to help you through this process" Katanta.

"We want you to know that we understand how difficult this situation is for you. We promise that we will conduct a fair and thorough investigation. If you have information you want to share, we will listen with understanding" Detective Rami said.

Rima raised her trembling hand and received a piece of paper given by Detective Boni. He looked at the two detectives with a mixed view of confusion, fear, and hope. Their words began to pierce through the emotional walls surrounding him.

Rima in a soft voice said, "Thank you... I. I may need a little time."

"We understand completely, Mrs Rima. If there is anything we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us. We want to help you find the truth" Detective Bono said.

"We'll be here for you. If there's anything you want to say, don't hesitate to us" Detective Rami added.

Investigators decided to give Rima time to calm down and recuperate before continuing the process of further investigation. They realize that getting information from Rima will not be easy, and may need the involvement of a psychological team to help cope with the psychological condition he is experiencing.

"How is this?" ask Detective Rami.

"We leave it first" replied Detective Bono. "If his mental condition is better, we will continue the investigation" he said.

In the investigation room filled with silence and tense atmosphere, Rima remained silent, seemingly caught up in her dark and hopeless world.
