The Father-in-law Seed

The Father-in-law Seed
Chapter 46

Rima opened the door with a heavy heart. His face looked lethargic, and fatigue emanated clearly from his eyes. Arjun, her husband, was sitting on the sofa of the room with an expression of hidden astonishment.

"Rima, you're home late again?" asked Arjun in a confused tone.

Rima threw her bag indifferently on the table and sighed. "Yes, Mas. There's some business I need to finish. Sorry if I came home late."

Arjun shook his head in dissatisfaction. "It's not the first time, Rima. Every weekend you come home late. We rarely have time together, and what happens to Renjun? He's seen his mother less and less."

Rima put herself next to Arjun, trying to calm the situation down. "I know it's hard, Mom. But there are some important projects I have to deal with. I can't just leave him. Renjun is our beloved son, but I also have other responsibilities."

Arjun felt his heart flutter. He wanted to trust his wife, but there was dissatisfaction in him. "Rima, I don't want to suspect or corner you. But what exactly happened? Why do you always come home late at night? Is there anything else going on?"

Rima looked at Arjun sadly. "Mas, I swear there's nothing wrong. I love you and Renjun, you have to trust me. It's all for our future."

Arjun clasped Rima's hand, trying to find the truth in his eyes. "I love you too, Rima. But I'm worried. Can you provide any further evidence or explanation of what actually happened?"

Rima was silent for a moment, trying to find the right words. "Arjun, I have something to tell you. I did get involved in some secret projects related to my friend's business. I'm trying to keep this from interfering with our family life. That's why I came home late."

Arjun felt his chest heavy. He doesn't know what to believe anymore. "Rima, why didn't you talk to me earlier? We are a couple, and we must share and support each other. If you have this project, we'll have to figure out a way that we can still spend time together and pay attention to Rennjun."

Arjun tried to calm himself down for a moment before responding. He realized that in this situation, it was important for the two of them to listen to each other and find a solution together.

"Listen, Rima," said Arjun in a soft voice. "I want us to build trust in each other. So, please, give me complete honesty and transparency about this project. I want to support you, but we need to communicate well."

Rima nodded while wiping away the tears on her cheeks. "My friend doesn't want the project to leak, Mas. I can't say it. But, if the project has been successful, I will definitely tell you. It's about business ethics, Mas," he said. "Em, I promise I will spend more quality time for you and Renjun," he continued.

Arjun pulled Rima in a warm embrace. "We're gonna get through this together, Rima. We are a team, and we will solve every challenge together. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it."

Rima felt relief in Arjun's embrace. "I'm so lucky to have a husband like you. I promise to be more open and to prioritize our family. Rendering is the greatest gift of our lives, and we must give our best for it."

In her heart Rima felt guilty for lying to her husband. His departure every night on the weekend was not for business purposes, but rather to meet Sandi like the agreement he had agreed to keep his home life with Arjun intact. He must be willing to fall into the arms of another man in order to survive on Arjun's side. He is very aware that the way is very wrong, but there is nothing else that he thinks is better than his decision.
