Chapter 57

Arjun sat restlessly outside the operating room, his heart feeling heavy. Renjun, his feisty and carefree son, has an accident while playing and has severe bleeding on the head. Doctors are fighting to save their son's life.

Time seems to be running slow for Arjun as he waits in the deserted hospital corridor. Every second feels like precious time wasted. He could not shake off the worries that filled his mind, thinking about the state of Renjun who was fighting for his life.

Sometimes he sees his watch. "Where is Rima really? Why hasn't he come yet?" his weakness.

He was surprised Rima was so long gone. Even a dozen times he called only once lifted. He knows that Rima can't be far from his phone.

"Which friend? Why is he getting closed to me."

Arjun could only mutter to himself. His mind was muddled because of the calamity that befell Renjun. While in the play area, the boy fell from the top of the slide into the iron. He didn't expect it to happen.

"Baby mountain ... You'll be fine!" arjun said anxiously.

Shortly after, Rima finally arrived there after some time. Arjun was relieved to see his wife present. But what amazes him is the fact that Rima came with Sandi, Arjun's stepfather. Questions and suspicions ripple through Arjun's mind, but he chooses to hold back and wait for an explanation from Rima.

"Darling, what about Rendjun?" ask Rima worried. She immediately hugged her husband while crying.

Arjun put on a flat face. Despite the suspicion in his heart, he still wanted to hug Rima and pat his wife's back so that she would not panic. His gaze led to Sandi who was standing not far from them.

"Where have you been? I'm having a hard time contacting you" asked Arjun in a worried voice.

Rima looked at Arjun with a face full of regret. "Mas, I'm sorry. I had a meeting with a friend. I don't know if you've called so many times" Rima replied in a soft voice.

Arjun felt a deep sense of confusion and disappointment. In such crucial moments, they should have strengthened each other, but the presence of Sandi here caused discomfort in his heart. He felt the need to keep his mind focused on the struggling state of Renjun.

"Ah, that's a coincidence, Mas. I met Papa outside. I said Run a crash so Papa's coming along," said Rima.

"How's the condition?" ask Sandi who pretends to be calm.

"It's still in the doctor's hands" Arjun said in a low tone. Seeing those two people really made him feel uneasy.

Shortly after, Suni, Arjun's mother and Sandi's wife, arrive at the operating room. Her face reflected deep worry, a grandmother who loved her granddaughter dearly. Suni approached Arjun with the same anxious feeling.

"Arjun, how's the condition? What happened to her?" suni asked with a trembling voice.

Arjun tries to hold back his emotions and gives the information he knows. "Ma, Renjun had an accident while playing. He had bleeding in the head and doctors were trying to do surgery to save him. We must stay strong and pray for him."

Suni cried softly, pinching her worried chest. He held Arjun's hand affectionately. "We must continue to pray and provide support for Renjun. He is my beloved grandson, and I am sure he will recover well" Suni said with confidence.

In this difficult moment, Arjun feels the irreplaceable togetherness of the family. He let go of Rima's embrace and changed into his own mother.

"Darling, you also know that the Run was an accident?" ask Suni on Sandi.

"So I met Rima in front of me so I knew. He wanted to check health briefly to the ENT doctor. Skew a little bit sick," Sandi said.
