The Father-in-law Seed

The Father-in-law Seed
Chapter 83

Jonathan sits at his desk, checking some documents as Arjun walks into his room. Arjun's face looked agitated and full of worry.

"Oh, you're coming, Jun. What's up?" jonathan asked as he got up from his place and directed Arjun to sit on the sofa of his room.

Arjun sat down in front of Jonathan. "Jo, I'm confused about my problem. My mother refused to accept Renjun again as a grandchild after the events involving Rima. Especially now, after my stepfather died at Rima's hands."

Jonathan puts a pen on the table and focuses on listening to Arjun seriously.

"I understand your concern, Jun. The situation you are in is very complicated and confusing. Do you want to ask my opinion on this matter?" ask Jonathan.

As a person who cares for Arjun, Jonathan can't let his friend bear the problem himself. Moreover, he was among the first to warn that it seemed like something was wrong with Rima and Sandi.

Arjun nodded with a hopeful expression. "Yes, Jo. I need your opinion. I don't know what to do. My mother was very stubborn and there seemed to be no way to change her mind."

As a man, Arjun was obviously disappointed by Rima's actions. Knowing that Renjun is not his son also makes him sad. However, somehow he could not let the child suffer.

Jonathan pondered for a moment, trying to find the right words to express his thoughts.

"Your mother is going through a difficult time, Jun. Losing a husband in tragic circumstances must have affected his mind" Jonathan said.

Arjun frustrated. "I know, Jo. But, Renjun somehow inherited the blood of my stepfather." It seems like he cannot continue. His chest was crowded to accept the fact that the very child he was waiting for turned out to be his stepfather's son.

"How can I persuade my mother to accept Renjun again?" keep Arjun.

"It may take some time for your mother to understand and accept Rejun. But, first of all, I think you should focus on rebuilding your relationship with your own mother" Jonathan said.

Arjun nodded, listening carefully.

"Try to start a conversation with your mother in an open and understanding manner. Tell him how you feel and try to listen to his opinion without bringing anger or resentment" Jonathan said.

Arjun let out a long sigh, contemplating Jonathan's suggestion. "I'll try, Jo. I want to improve my relationship with my mother, even though I know it won't be easy. I also want my mother to see Renjun as her grandson again."

Jonathan gave a feisty smile to Arjun.

"Then, what about your wife?" ask Jonathan.

Arjun was silent as if lazy to discuss it.

"He's still in jail, Jo," Arjun said in a limp tone.

"What?" Jonathan was a little surprised. "Isn't Rima not entirely guilty? If his intention is to defend himself, he shouldn't need to be punished" he said. "You don't have the idea of hiring a good lawyer."

"He refused any legal help, Jo," replied Arjun.

"Have you decided to divorce her?" jonathan asked with a serious look. He believes the relationship between the two is not okay.

Arjun was silent for a moment. "He doesn't want to meet me at all. Also Renjun. He doesn't want to be helped. He wants to serve the sentence and doesn't want to be released."

Jonathan nodded, trying to make sense of the complicated situation and was quite beyond reason. "That was probably a tough decision for Rima." In a little bit he could understand if Rima must be very guilty to not want to be released.

"How do you feel about this, Jun? Are you thinking of divorcing Rima?" ask Jonathan again.

Arjun stared at the floor, pondering the question seriously. "I'm still thinking about it, Jo. This situation is very difficult and complicated. Rima had committed a serious crime, and her attitude of refusing help made things even more complicated. I feel trapped and doubtful."

Jonathan raised his eyebrows, showing curiosity. "What makes you doubt?"

"Rima is my wife, and I love her. But his actions have destroyed our lives as well as the lives of others. I feel like I have to take responsibility and make the best decision for my future and Renjun" Arjun said.

Jonathan nodded, giving support indirectly. "That's a very difficult consideration, Jun. Only you can determine what is best for you and your child. But remember, decisions like these require peace of mind and a clear heart."

Arjun sighed deeply, trying to gather strength and clarity in his mind. "I know it's a big decision, Jo. I need time to think and consider everything. But one thing's for sure, I want to find the best way for my son and make sure he grows up in a safe and stable environment."

Jonathan nodded with understanding. "Take the time you need, Juni. I'm here to support you in every decision you make. Remember, family is a priority, and your family's happiness and safety should be a top consideration."

Arjun thanked Jonathan with a mixed expression of doubt and despair. It might not hurt if he learned to forgive and to let go.
