Renjun opened his eyes slowly, trying to focus his gaze on the people around him. The first sight he saw was the gentle face of his mother, Rima, who was by his side.
"Mama.." whispered Renjun in a weak voice.
Tears flowed directly on Rima's cheeks. He kissed Renjun's forehead affectionately. "Renjun, baby, Mama's here. You're up."
Arjun, who was sitting on the side of the bed of Renjun, felt tightness in the chest due to the unspoken relief. "The mountain!" yells.
The couple showed how worried they were about the child.
Renjun smile. "Papa," call him.
As parents, they felt relieved to finally recover.
"Yes, Honey. Papa's here too. Are you sick?" ask Arjun.
Renjun. "Mama, drink" she asked in a tone that still sounded weak.
Rima took a bottle of mineral water and gave a straw so that Renjun easier to drink it. "Drink, honey," he said.
Meanwhile, Arjun takes his cell phone. He pressed his mother's number to give her the good news.
"Hello, Ma," he said.
"Yes, Jun, what's wrong?" ask Suni from across the phone.
"The mountain is conscious, Ma," said Arjun.
"really? My granddaughter is already stoned? Oh, my God, thank goodness!" suni said that sounded very excited.
"Yes, Ma. Thank goodness Renjun is dead."
"All right then, Mama's gonna be there any minute. Can't wait to meet my favorite granddaughter."
"Yes, Ma. I hung up the phone first" Arjun said, turning off the phone.
Arjun looked at Rima who was hugging Renjun attentively. Both of them were smiling sweetly. He looked stunned for a moment.
In his mind there were so many questions that no answer had yet been found. Arjun was sure that there was something Rima had been hiding all along from him. However, he was too afraid to know that reality. He was afraid of losing them. Also the happiness his mother felt after having a grandchild.
"Rima," call Arjun.
Rima smiled. "Yes, Mas. What's up?" tanyakanya.
"I'd like to go out for a minute to tell the doctor that Renjun is awake" he replied.
"Oh, yes, Mas" replied Rima.
Arjun turned his body walking towards the exit. The road looks like an uninspired person.
Arjun with a pounding heart walks across the hospital hallway, looking for the doctor in charge of Renjun's care. After a while, he found the doctor talking to several nurses in the treatment room.
Arjun approached them quickly and looked agitated. "Doctor, I'm sorry to interrupt. I have good news about Renjun. He's up!"
The doctor, who was initially reading the medical files, immediately raised his head and noticed Arjun. His face implied a mixture of shock and excitement. "Are you serious?" ask her with a trembling voice. Doctors thought the two-year-old child would recover longer due to injuries to the head.
Arjun nodded with a relieved smile. "Yes, Doctor. Renjun is awakening. He even asked his mother for a drink."
The nurses around them also seemed happy to hear the news. One of the nurses said, "That's amazing news, Mr. Arjun! We immediately notify the other treatment team."
"Let's see the condition of Renjun now," the doctor asked.
The doctor immediately got up from his chair and invited Arjun to follow them to the Renjun treatment room. They walked through the hospital hallways quickly, towards the place where Renjun had been treated for some time.
As they arrive at the door of the room, Arjun feels his heartbeat speeding up. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down before entering the room.
Renjun raised his head and looked at Arjun weakly. His face was still pale, but a small smile began to form on his lips. "Papa.." he muttered in a quiet voice.
Arjun felt melted hearing the voice of the call again. "My son," he said as he returned to Renjun who was still with his wife.
Arjun felt as if his world was lifted off his shoulders. Even his problems with Rima and Sandi were momentarily forgotten.
He approached and sat down beside the bed. "Renjun, baby, Papa is so happy to see you sober. You've been through a difficult time."
Doctors and nurses observed the warm interaction between Arjun and Renjun. They smiled, proud of their work that helped save Renjun's life.
The doctor spoke expectantly, "Pak Arjun, Bu Rima, Renjun still need some time to fully recover. We will continue to monitor his condition closely. However, this is an important first step towards a good recovery. Right now, the best we can do is provide good support and care to Renjun."
Arjun nodded, thanking the doctor and the nursing team for their efforts. "Thank you, Doctor. We are very grateful for the care that has been given to Renjun. We'll do everything we can to help her recovery process."
The doctor smiled and patted Arjun's shoulder gently. "I know that you will do your best to Rendjun. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it."
Arjun thanked her once again and the doctor and nurse left the room, giving them time to be with Renjun.
Arjun grabs Renjun's hand lovingly. "Renjun, you're really brave. Mom and Dad are so proud of you. You'll recover completely soon, dear."
Rejun looked at his father with eyes full of confidence. "Papa, home. Let's play together," he asked.
Arjun smiled and gently stroked the wiry hair. "Yes, later if Renjun is healed, we'll play together."
Rima, who had been standing beside Renjun, could not help but hold back her tears.
Renjun smiled broadly at the sight of his parents together. "Mama, Papa, I love you guys."
They hugged tightly, creating an increasingly strong family bond. At that moment, they realize that each other's presence is the greatest gift of their lives.
