The Father-in-law Seed

Chapter 32

Rima felt very agitated and scared during the trip home with her father-in-law, Sandi. He is worried that the secret of his affair with Sandi will be revealed. However, after arriving home, Sandi looks fine. He thought it was just a bluff.

The waiter had prepared an appetizing dinner dish. They were directed to directly sit there. Meanwhile, Arjun is seen holding a sleeping Renjun on his way home. He took the boy carefully and led him into the room. After taking care of Rejun, he returned to the dining room to meet the others.

Suni and Sandi sit at the dinner table and look happy to talk to each other while eating dishes that they have not been able to enjoy for a long time. Arjun, Rima, and Yunita sat down next to them and looked interested in listening to their chatter.

"I really missed Indonesian food for two years living there in America. My tongue is always the same no. Can get used to the food there," Suni said, smiling.

"That's right," added Sandi. "Indonesian food has a unique taste and cannot be obtained from other countries."

"Mama should bring a personal chef from here" Arjun suggested.

"Well, there it is! Mama was a bit sorry not to think that far. But, fortunately, at least there are still Indonesian stalls that taste good," said Suni.

Rima tried to smile, though still feeling anxious. He did not want Sandi to reveal the secret of their affair in front of everyone.

The same thing happened with Yunita. He felt very awkward in the middle of them. She was just a babysitter but was treated like a family.

"How can Yunita be a wardrobe nanny?" suni asked, looking at Yunita.

Arjun replied, "Yunita was our good friend back in college, Ma. After we had a baby, we decided to find a trustworthy babysitter and Yunita was the right choice."

Arjun answered him very straightforwardly. Rima was worried if she would be scolded by her in-laws for using the services of a nanny. He should have kept his promise to take care of Rejun himself like his mother-in-law would.

"Oh, so," said Suni. "It's good that you found someone you can trust to look after Renjun."

Sandi added, "We also want to make sure that Renjun gets the best caregiver. Thank you Yunita, you have taken good care of Renjun."

The conversation at the dinner table lasted for some time until the waiter brought the dessert. Everyone enjoyed the dessert and felt full after a delicious dinner. After that, they all headed to their respective rooms to rest.

Before Rima could get into the room, Yunita pulled her into Renjun's room and locked the door so they could talk privately together.

"Why, Yun?" ask Rima.

Yunita initially felt hesitant to express her uneasiness. However, he ventured to speak up for having considered Rima as his brother. He felt that something was wrong and wanted to make sure that Rima was okay. "Rima, I feel like something's wrong. Are you all right?" tanyakanya.

Rima frowned. He was astonished by Yunita's question like that. "I'm fine, Yun. There's nothing you need to worry about" Rima replied as she tried to smile.

However, Yunita was unbelievable and she knew there was something Rima was hiding. "No, Rima. You don't lie. I know you're hiding something from me. What the hell's going on? Tell me, I promise this will be a secret between the two of us" Yunita said.

Rima was silent for a moment. He felt touched by Yunita's sincere concern. However, he still hesitates to reveal the secret of his affair with Sandi.

Yunita feels something is wrong with Rima and Sandi. As the three of them gathered for dinner, Yunita felt Sandi was too friendly to Rima, even glancing at her too often. Yunita also had time to pay attention to Rima's facial expression that looked pale like an unhealthy person. Rima also looks awkward being near her in-laws.

"There's nothing, Yuni. I'm fine," Rima replied with a forced-looking smile.

Yunita was dissatisfied with Rima's reply. He started digging deeper, "But I saw Sandi glancing at you too often. Is there something going on between you?"

Rima looked agitated and started to let out small cries. "I'm sorry, Yuni" he said. Rima is powerless to speak.

Yunita held Rima's hand gently. "You can trust me, Rima. I will listen to you with all my heart and will not judge you. Whatever happens, I'm here for you" he said softly.

After pondering for a moment, Rima finally decided to reveal everything to Yunita. He tells about his affair with Sandi and his concern that the secret will be revealed. He also said that Renjun was the child of the affair.

Yunita was shocked to hear that. He did not expect Rima to be able to do such a thing.
