CL - 09. Not Fine Of It

“I'm not okay, so can I cry all night? I couldn't hold back my tears..”

“As a thank you because you already want to accompany me to family dinner, then later in the day we spend in the salon and I will give you a dress that is not less beautiful than what I have. All free tis tis....!” Nina told me excitedly, while I had yet to recover from my worries.

“Yan... Rian... are you okay?”

“Eh how was it?” Answer me as soon as possible.

“Where are you thinking Yan? You sick? You want me to cancel dinner?”

“Eh don't, don't get cancelled. I'm okay anyway. So wait let's go to the salon. Make sure I'm no less beautiful and graceful than the bride-to-be. Hehe..”.

Even though I had just arrived at the rented house, Nina and I had already left again for the Salon. Before going straight to the salon we both stopped by to eat first at the stall padang. Our fondness for pasture cuisine is not to be bargained for anymore, equally fond of spicy.

About half an hour at the Padang stall, we both went to the salon to prepare for the Nina and Tefan family dinner. Nina has prepared a dress that we will both wear at dinner later. There are two boxes of dresses, one is clean White and the other is sea blue. He always did, knowing whatever I needed even though there was one thing he didn't know until now and I had to close it.

On the road to the salon, Nina unceasingly told him about her nervousness when dealing directly with Tefan's parents. Although this is not the first time they met but he admitted he was still always nervous. Especially because at dinner later maybe they will mention the determination of the wedding date. Nina's enthusiasm in telling me everything she felt, made me feel full. He was so innocent and wanted the wedding so badly. How could I ruin their marriage?

In response to everything Nina told me I could only be happy and encouraging. Even in the deepest corner of the heart there is a part that may have cried again. We arrived at the salon at four in the afternoon. It is good to prepare everything. When I opened the salon door, my HP suddenly shook and on the screen the name Tefan called. Duh...

“Nin, you go in first well I want to take a call for a minute.”

After feeling safe enough to pick up the phone, I got a call from Tefan.

“Ya Fan, I'm with Nina again. What's up?”

“You where?”

“In the salon, just arrived. You haven't answered my question, what's up?”

“It's okay to just confirm whether you've returned from Kawah Putih or not.”

“Udah. Nina called and asked to be accompanied to the salon to prepare herself for dinner with your family.”

“Oh. Yes, just continue your business.”

“Ok. I'm in first yeah, bye...!”

In a room that was quite spacious, I saw Nina was already on her back and a salon employee was about to massage her whole body. I also gave the same instructions to other salon employees. Get ready with salon pajamas to make it easier to do body care.

At seven o'clock in the evening Nina and I went to a restaurant that had been personally booked by the Tefan family. My heart is getting ripe, I still can not be comfortable with the meeting later. Nina looks very beautiful with an open dress in white color that she is wearing. She looked like the king's daughter and I was just a lady-in-waiting ready to serve the princess at any moment. Fiuhhh. I drew and took a long breath, the feeling of degness still haunting. Even I was more tense than Nina who looked comfortable in her dress. We both entered the door of the restaurant holding hands, as if strengthening our hearts. We both got into the elevator and headed for the 3rd floor, which was where the room that Tefan's family had personally booked.

Getting out of the elevator I was finally able to control myself, no longer feeling tense and trying to be as relaxed as possible. However, I must not look oppressed by Tefan's parents' gaze later. We opened the door and entered in slow steps, Tefan's parents looked surprised by my presence. Moreover Tefan who like to code “Ngapain you here?”. But I don't care anymore, anyway I've been here and facing them is one way that makes sense.

“Goodnight om, aunt.!” Nina's greeting was polite and a smile blossomed.

“Goodnight Nina, come sit.” Reply Papa Tefan.

“Oh yes sorry Om, Auntie, I brought my friend here. He was like his own family to me. I know, she's Riana.”

“Oh, we already know. He's Tefan's friend too, isn't he?” Mama Tefan chimed.

“Aunty Father, apparently you already know each other. So no need to worry anymore.”

I was sitting next to Nina flanked by Mama Tefan whose gaze had never been shady looking at me. That shady look that once existed had been gone a long time ago. I enjoyed the dinner menu a little awkwardly, though I tried to avoid Tefan's gaze which was like demanding an explanation. Nina and both of Tefan's parents were busy joking around, I just chimed in with smiles and nods as usual.

Tefan couldn't say much but agree with every word of his Mama Papa that demanded him to give an answer. Tefan was as tense as I was, especially when his parents were like raising a war sign flag. I'd almost been embarrassed if Tefan hadn't broken his parents' words. I wanted to disappear right then and there, but I couldn't do anything. Fortunately, Nina did not realize anything, because she could not stand the situation that would corner me or pay to go to the toilet for a while.

Shortly after I was in the toilet and looked long at the wide-sized glass in front of me, I saw Tefan appear with a face that was as restless as mine.

“Sorry attitude mom and dad. I know you're hurt, you're angry and you're upset at them. You already know clearly that by coming here it means you have to be ready with all the bad conditions that might happen.”

“I know.” Answer's short.

“If you are not at home, you can go home now. I'll talk to Nina.”

“No need, I'm fine. You better get out as soon as possible, before they get suspicious of both of us.”

“Riana, please don't be so stubborn.”

“Fan, I'm fine, you don't have to worry. Anyway if I get away from them, it will cause a big question mark. Besides maybe I'll be considered weak and cowardly by your parents for the rest of my life.”

“I hope you will still forgive them for everything he has done to you.”

When I returned to the table, Nina looked very familiar with Tefan's parents. I remember when I was a kid, Tefan's parents, especially Aunt Venny, were very nice to me. At about ten o'clock in the night, we all went home. I couldn't say much, Nina also seemed surprised by my attitude that night.
