"Assalammualaikum!" vira said soft and weak. Vira's voice was a bit raucous, signifying the tiredness of Vira's body tonight.
"Glamma!"
Sounds from the middle room. Vira walked into his house. His footsteps felt heavy, sometimes seen Vira kneading his temple slowly. Right beside the living room, Vira stopped her steps. Vira turned her head with a smile, then went back to her room.
"Sister!" greeting Vika, Vira turned her head towards the kitchen.
Vika carries a tray containing food and drinks. Shortly after hearing Vira's car. Vika rushed towards the kitchen, warming up the dinner. Preparing food for her brother Vira. The habit that Vika always did long ago. Arif never forbade or simply asked the reason for Vika's attitude. Arif accepts Vika completely, weakly and more. Including the old habits of Vira that Arif would never want to change.
"Thank you Vika, sister is not hungry!" vira was lethargic, then passed without looking at Vika again.
Braakkk
Vika placed a tray filled with food on the table. Vika ran after Vira's slow steps. Suddenly Vika hugged Vira from behind. Stopping the steps of Vira, embrace the weak and tired body of the brother. Vika's embrace was tight, until Vira felt tight. Vira slapped Vika's hand. Cue him fine. Hope Vika isn't worried about her.
Vika shook her head weakly, a drop of Vika tears wetting Vira's back. Vika is a quiet and very emotional girl. Inversely with Vira is strong and not easily dependent. Vika feels further and further away with Vira. He gained a life companion, but lost the brother who had been his back.
"Why are you crying? My sister is not hungry. All day long, my brother went to the project. Now just the rest that you need!" vira said, Vika was silent behind Vira's back.
Gently Vira pulled Vika's body towards her. Vira raised Vika's chin slowly, looking down at Vika's swollen eyes. Vira pulled Vika's body, then hugged her tightly. Replying to Vika's sincere attention to her.
"Dear Vika, sister really isn't hungry. If you don't believe me, well brother will have dinner. But let the brother clean first. After that, my sister went down to dinner. Now go with your husband. He is the one you should serve. You can prepare your own dinner!" vira said kindly, while rubbing Vika's head covered with hijab.
Vika shook her head in disagreement with Vira's words. Vika feels preparing for the needs of Vira is still his duty. Arif is indeed a husband who must be respected and served by Vika wholeheartedly. But Vira is much more valuable, Vira existed long before Arif in his life. So there is no way Vika forgets her habit with Vira.
"Sir Vira, I miss the days with us. Brother is getting further away from me. Brother always taught me to be filial to brother Arif. But without my sister realizing it, I accidentally wanted to stay away from me!"
"You're wrong Vika, brother is still next to you. It's just, you've been different. There's Arif who's gonna take care of you. He's your priest and companion. He is now taking over the responsibility of my brother. Forever we are family, we will never be apart. Brother has been much calmer since you got married. One big brother's burden at the moment. Marry Rayyan to the best of knowledge!" vira said, Vika nodded in agreement. The two took off a hug, Vira smilingly looked at Vika's face.
"You should be happy for brother!" vira said, then went up to the second floor. Vira walked slowly towards her room. One by one the stairs were passed. The energy of Vira has been drained away. Now there remains a weak body that is tired.
Tap Tap Tap
"Is it my existence that keeps you away from Fatih? Do you want to give up Fatih's responsibilities to me? Until you uncover my past!" said Azzam coldly, Vira looked up in surprise.
Vira saw Azzam standing gallantly on the top rungs of the stairs. With my eyes, Vira stared fixedly at Azzam. Without saying the words of Azzam, Vira walked up to Azzam. Vira suspects that Azzam heard her talk with Vika. So Azzam felt the same was true for Fatih.
"Sorry, I'm tired!"
"We have to talk, avoid is not the right way. I deliberately kept silent to see your cold attitude. Think you need time to calm down. You go out of town and come home late at night every day. Just so you don't meet me. Vira has enough of your silly attitude. It's not just Vika who misses you. Fatih our son is lonely without you!"
"Sister Azzam, Fatih is not a whiny child. She was born with the strength of a mother. So there's no way she's crying, just because she misses me. Fatih's a brave and tough kid, she understands my busyness!"
"Vira, he's a kid. As strong as Fatih, she needs her parents. He needs us, not just one of us. Maybe Fatih won't cry, but Fatih's silent answer from her wound!"
"Isn't my sister with him!" sahut Vira, then walked away from Azzam.
Braakkkk
"Sir Azzam, what are you doing? Get out of my room!" vira said loudly, shortly after hearing Azzam close the door of Vira's room.
"You have no right to expel me. Your room is also my room. You're still my wife's legitimate, until this second I've never uttered a talaq to you!"
"Please get out, I'm really tired!"
"Vira, you're selfish and haughty. Your attitude is like you are the most hurt. In fact, your attitude hurt Fatih. Look Vira, everyone is hurt by your attitude!"
"Get out!" vira said while pointing towards the door. A gesture asked Azzam to come out of his room. Azzam smiled cynically, he looked at Vira who was very different. Vira is far from being friendly. Vira who was in front of him was filled with anger.
"Why did you change Vira? Where is that sweet voice calming yours again? What the hell happened to you? Until you have made it this far. I will not interfere in your affairs. That way Fatih was unharmed and missed her mother!"
"Please come out!" vira said softly, while cupping her hands in front of her chest.
"Is it because of Dimas' attitude? Is he a man who takes you step by step away from us?" said Azzam cynically, Vira stared intently at Azzam. Both of Vira's eyes are perfectly rounded. Didn't expect Azzam to say that.
"What do you have right now? All the giving of Dimas!" azzam said it was getting cynical.
Plaakkk
"I may be poor, but I have pride. I won't sell it, for the sake of status and happiness. My relationship with Dimas is sincere. You have no right to insult our friendship!"
"If he's your best friend, then who am I? Am I not your husband. Why did you tell her you were complaining? I should be the one who knows your pain. I'm the one who's supposed to wipe your tears!" azzam said emotion.
"Because he never doubted me. He never wanted to hurt me. You're my husband, he's not who I am? One right that gets you on it. But on the other hand, you are far below him!"
"He understands you, because you tell him all your complaints!" azzam said, Vira shook her head weakly.
"By contrast Azzam, I never complained to him. Brother Dimas never knew of my problems. Only he knows how to appreciate me? Not how to destroy me!?" vira said cynically.
"Maybe you forgot, I once said the basis of our relationship. Honesty is the only thing I ask for as our wedding dowry. But you betrayed him. You made my love a tool of revenge!"
"Vira you misunderstood, that was before I loved you!"
"Here you go, I'm really tired. If you don't want to get out of my room. Stay here, no one will come out!"
"Vira, please forgive me. Forget the bitter memories of the past!" azzam whispered right in Vira's ear. Azzam tightly hugged Vura's body from behind. Feel the warm body and fragrant hair Vira. Azzam dissolves in such a great longing.
"I can never hate you, because I love you. But it is my fault that I continue to endure this suffering. Let me feel for myself without you. Learn to make peace with this wound. Until I get tired and give up will be the cold and quiet I feel!"
"Why Vira? Why did you swallow all those wounds? Not a word you tell me. Think I deserve the burden of your heart!" azzam said softly, Vira shook her head without hesitation.
"Never defend me, if there is a quarrel between me and your family. Don't ever blame the decisions I make. Believe without doubting what I expect of you. Belief that has been unwittingly betrayed by your haughty!" vira said final.
