"Assalammualaikum, ma!" Sapa Farah was friendly, Vira opened her eyes slowly.
Farah was standing right beside her bed. Vira saw Farah's clothes were already very neat. At a glance Vira glanced at the clock on the wall, the clock showed at 04.00 WIB. Vira sighed, there was a sense of anxiety in his deepest heart. The little girl was beginning to forget about time. In the morning, Vira sees Farah who is ready to work. Signs that Farah is not resting well. It was only three hours ago that Farah came home from the hospital.
"Glamma!" As Vira warms up, Farah sits right next to Vira's bed.
Farah put her head down, right next to Vira's hand. Farah tightly grasped Vira's hand which attached the infusion. Farah kissed gently the back of the hand that always held her warm. His faithful hand guided his weak footsteps. Farah leaned against Vira's bed. Seeking tranquility in the warm deck of Vira's weak body.
"You're going!" Vira said, Farah nodded weakly. Vira felt a nod of Farah's head. The nod that made Vira's heart cut. Remembering only three hours Farah came home. Not enough time, just to get rid of fatigue.
"This piece!" Said Vira again, Farah nodded a second time.
Vira sighed, while stroking Farah's hand. Vira gets sick seeing Farah her daughter who keeps moving away from her. Farah chose to work hard, for a purpose Vira never wanted. Farah fought hard to achieve her dream. Vira can't blame Farah. But supporting Farah's decision is not the right thing. When Vira realizes, Farah competes with her own family. Although the Atmaja family never admitted Farah.
"You're not resting!"
"Farah has had enough rest!" Farah said, stay in the original position.
Vira gently stroked Farah's head covered in hijab. It was as if Vira wanted to take a little fatigue from Farah. But Vira's hand is not as strong as it used to be. Let alone taking a little tired Farah. Embracing Farah's body, Vira seemed unable. Farah was far from his sight.
"Should you leave so early? Can't you wait for the dawn to say hello. Just close your eyes!"
"Farah has to go. There are some things that cannot be delayed. Tomorrow it's likely that Farah will return to our home. Maybe Farah will stay for a week!" Farah said, Vira was surprised to hear Farah's words.
Vira slowly raised Farah's head. With a signal, Vira asked Farah to stand up. Farah's words clearly made Vira uneasy. There was something strange, when Farah said she wanted to go home. The house in question, is not the house occupied by Vira and Fatih. Except the house where Farah and Vira used to live. A home away from the hometown of Fatih and Vira.
"What's wrong? Why did Farah come home?" Vira asked, just after Farah stood up.
Farah lowered her head deeply, no voice answering Vira's question. A very pleasant answer for Vira. Farah's honesty will fill her heart that is not easily spoken by Farah. Instead Farah was silent, increasingly making Vira agitated. There's something that Farah deliberately covered. Farah's assertive and personal nature. I will not be silent if someone asks. It made Vira's heart more anxious.
"Why silence? Farah's hiding something!" Vira said worriedly, Farah shook her head weakly.
"Farah, look at my mom. Answer my mom's question honestly. Don't let my mom get nervous. Mama always believed Farah's decision was the best. With a scolding, Farah was honest with mama!" Vira said firmly, Farah looked down deeper and deeper. Honestly, not the best way.
"Flood!" Sapa Vira lirih's.
"Farah has to go home. There's something Farah has to do there!"
"Without mom!" Vira said, Farah nodded slowly. Vira shook her head slowly. There was a sense of isolation, when Farah firmly said leave without her.
"Mama's aware, Farah's an adult. So Farah doesn't need a mom!"
"I'm sorry Farah mama, if Farah's departure hurts mama. But not once terbesit in Farah's mind, if Farah does not need a mother. Farah had to go alone. My mom is happy and calm here. Believe me, Farah will be fine!" Farah said firmly, Vira shook her head weakly.
"You're wrong Farah, your mama's happiness wouldn't be complete without you. Mama's calmness, only when two of your children are close and there in your view. But somehow mama felt Farah away? If you had known, you would have stayed away from your mom after you got here. My mother chose not to return. Mama will stay away, at least we'll live quietly together!"
"The decision has been taken, twenty years is enough mama away. Now my mom has to get the happiness she deserves. Confession of the Atmaja family!"
"You misunderstood Farah!" Vira said softly, shaking his head weakly.
"I may have misunderstood you, but your calmness and your smile last night. Clearly saying, mama's happy there she is in this room!" Farah said coldly, Vira shook her head weakly. Vira disagrees with Farah's opinion of him.
"Papa came with Nafisa. He deliberately visited my mother, when Arif said the condition of my mother. There is no thought like your word. Your brother Fatih was here last night, it's just that when you came he was in the bathroom!" Vira explained.
"Bad baby, you misunderstood me!" Vira said softly, Farah shook her head weakly.
"Misunderstand it or not, it doesn't matter. As long as you are happy, Farah will be happy. Like a mother who believes in Farah's decision. I also believe in my mother's decision. Believe me ma, there is already happiness saved for mama!"
"You're delirious of Farah, there's no such thing. Mom and Dad are not together!" Vira said final, Farah silently stared at Vira's weak body.
"Here you go, there's no point in us arguing. Farah has to go, take care of me. I hope you get well soon, I love you!" Farah said, then kissed the back of Vira's hand.
Farah walked slowly towards the door. Vira stared at Farah who was away. Vira is failing to be a mother. He could only silently watch Farah leave on her bike. Farah's steady steps, like Vira's turbulent heartbeat. Anxious to think of Farah's condition that was getting further away from her.
"Flood!" Call Vira, when Farah looks over.
Farah was shocked and hysterical, seeing the drops of Vira's blood. The infusion hose that was forcibly removed by Vira. He made his veins scarred and dripped fresh red blood. Farah who was shocked, immediately ran over to Vira. Without much thought, Farah held down Vira's hand with her hijab.
"Why did mom do this?"
"Mama will come with you. Mama can't watch you go alone. When your mind and heart say you're happy without you. Since you were a child, we lived together. Passing pain and sadness together. Without Fatih, the son of my mother's pride. With no papa, the man you love. We'll be with Farah, mama'll be with you!" Vira said as she shed tears.
"No ma, Farah will go alone!" Farah said, shaking her head slowly.
"You can do it without your mom, but you can't stand without you. Please, let me come!" Pinta Vira nodded, Farah shook her head weakly.
"I'm sorry Farah!" Farah said weakly, Vira lowered her head in lethargy.
Tap Tap Tap
"Excuse me, I'll change the infusion!" The nurse was friendly. Farah nodded, then took a few steps back.
Farah walked out of Vira's room, her white hijab filled with bloodstains. Vira was glued to see the determination of her daughter's heart. There's no way Vira can stop Farah. His closeness did not touch Farah's heart.
"Flood!" Call Vira in between the pain. Farah stopped her footsteps. But Farah did not look, she could not see Vira's wounds.
"Say one reason you have to stay here? So that mama can calm down to see you go!" Vira said, Farah sighed to take off the heavy burden she was now bearing. Farah twisted her body, she saw Vira who was getting treatment. Vira's red blood had stopped, but Vira's anxiety was still turbulent.
"Because Fatih's sister needs mama and mama needs her!"
"It doesn't make sense!" Vira is cold.
"Twenty years ago, my mother chose to live with me. It's not fair if you go with me again. Brother Farih needs a mama!" Farah said final. Farah stepped out of Vira's inpatient room.
"Why go, brother?" Sapa Fatih, right at the door.
Farah looked up, she saw Fatih and Bayu standing in line. Not far from them, Azzam and Nafisa. Suddenly Farah moved away. He did not want to deal with the successor of the Atmaja family. But his steps came to a halt, as Fatih held back his hand. Farah turned her head, then put on a knotty smile. It's like Farah is fine.
"I'm sorry Farah!" His leg was warm, then walked away from Fatih and Bayu.
"Don't leave your mama, if it's for me!" Azzam lantang.
"What kind of relationship do you offer your mom? One thing my message is, never doubt its sanctity. Mama's been crying enough, she deserves to be happy. I didn't leave because I gave up or took you back into my mom's life. It's just, keep hating you in front of mama. It'll only make you hurt!" Farah said firmly.
