At 23:30, city X
The night was getting late, far away leaving the drowning twilight. Ready to empty the greeting dawn in the morning. The dark and thick of the night put the exhausted creatures to sleep. There was only the sound of the night animals. Greet a calm and cold night.
When all creatures close their eyes. Resting a tired body. It looks like a tough woman who is awake. The pile of files covered the entire table in front of him. The files that seemed to have never tired accompanied him. Filled his days the last month. Comforting the heart that misses the baby. Time is spinning very slowly around him. The clock on the wall that sliced his heart. His ears and eyes. I could not find a heart that filled my life.
Vira Azza Ifatunnisa is a tough figure full of burdens that are not easy. Tears like a friend who accompanies every step of his foot. Humiliation is like a melodious tone that is heard in his life. Always filled his days. Become a whip so that he becomes a better person. He was never weak, though sometimes sincere and resignedly chosen to be the end of his suffering and injuries.
Both of her beautiful eyes were wearing glasses. Support tired both eyes that seem to want to rest. But it no longer felt for Vira. Tired and tired no longer felt, when there is only a longing that greets his heart and mind. Vira drowned herself in a pile of files. It's like Vira's chasing real time never stops.
Vira dissolves in an endless busyness. Not to destroy themselves. The responsibility and burden it carries. It's not as easy as turning your hand. Not as light as cotton blown by the wind. It takes determination and hard work. So that everything goes according to what Vira expects. A weak woman who must be strong for the sake of her family. A mother who is always tough for the sake of the baby.
TOK TOK TOK
Vira looked up at the door. Fandi brings a tray of food and drinks for Vira. The assistant who was always there accompanied Vira. Handling dozens or even hundreds of projects with Vira. Without complaining of being tired or tired. Fandi's devotion was sincere without expecting anything in return. Devotion that starts from a sense of admiration and pride in the hard work of Vira. toughness and determination of a woman. Against the harsh and cruel world that sometimes looks one woman in the eye.
"Excuse me Miss Vira!"
Vira smiled as she blinked her eyes. Vira lets Fandi into her room. Vira took off the glasses that were adhering beautifully to cover her two eyes. Vira kneeled softly at the temple which started screaming in exhaustion. Fandi approached Vira, putting a tray on the table. Fandi sees clearly tired Vira. Tired that Vira never cared about.
"This is the third time you've brought me dinner. I told you just now. I'll eat, when I'm hungry!" vira said softly, a smile knot terutas sweet. Saving Vira's tired face.
Fandi silently looked down, he felt confused to have to behave to Vira. Since last week Vira busied herself without rest. Even to eat regularly. Vira as if there was no time. Vira filled her empty stomach with cups of coffee. I hope both eyes stay awake.
Sometimes Fandi wants to snatch the files in front of Vira. But his status as an assistant did not give him the right to do all that. Silence saw Vira crumbling with endless work. Surely Fandi could not, but he chose to keep reminding. Keeping Vira from the pain that will whack. If Vira continues with her working pattern.
"It's midnight, dinner time is too late. But one mouthful of rice has not filled the mother's stomach since the afternoon. I don't mind bringing you dinner so many times. If necessary until mom gets angry and finally ready for dinner!" said Fandi lirih with a down.
Vira smiled at Fandi's words. More attention to responsibilities as an assistant. Vira stood closer to the table where Fandi put the food. Vira takes a tray filled with dinner for her. It was more like a midnight meal for Vira. Slowly Vira opened the tray. Vira is not hungry, but sees Fandi's persistence. Vira's heart was touched, there was no way Vira could be indifferent to seeing Vira's care.
Braaakkk
Instantly the lid of the dropped tray hit the floor of Vira's room. A sense of surprise and disbelief enveloped his heart. His strong hand was suddenly weak powerless. When her two beautiful eyes catch an unusual meal. Cuisine that may be common to others. But it is very special and has its own memories in Vira's life.
Food that tens of years ago once shook his heart. She shed the pure tears of her heart. Vira remembered a simple meal in the middle of the night. When the rain drenches the earth. The crying sky accompanied Vira who was sick to look at the body of the father. The food that makes her sad is reduced. The father's favorite food that Vira can never find again. Food that had been forgotten, but now real in front of him.
"Where is that man?" vira said breaking the silence of the night.
Sontak Fandi was confused looking at Vira. A second ago Vira refused this food. Now he's looking for the man who made it. Fandi had not yet asked the reason for Vira's sadness. Now Fandi wonders why Vira is looking for the man who made her dinner for Vira.
"What did mom say? Who are you looking for?" fandi is confused. Vira ran towards the door.
He turned to the right and left in turn. Looking for the person he wanted to see so much. The boy who used to give me a box of candy with three flavors at once. The boy who has grown up at the same age as him. Maybe candy doesn't really mean much, but Vira understands the meaning behind the taste in a box of candy. A feeling that reflects a person's life. The principle that Vira has held to this day. The beginning of strength and toughness behind his weak and frail.
"He gave you this food. I only know one person, I'm sure he gave it to you. Tell me who gave you this? Have I been wanting to see him for a long time?" vira said, Fandi lowered his head weakly while shaking his head.
Duuukkk
Vira fell down, her knees hitting the floor very strongly. Loud sound of Vira's knee-stroke. Sounds real in the silence of the night. Vira looked down lethargic, tears welling up the floor of her room. Her tiny body trembled, as tears dripped unstoppably. Fandi silently stared at Vira's body. He felt a great pain. When the fragile Vira is real implied.
"Where are you hiding? Is that how you hate me? Until you're disgusted to meet me. How big is your anger? Until you get away from me. I was wrong to break a promise between us. But there is no apology for me. At least let me explain why I broke our promise. I want to meet you, let me just once look at your shady face. Though now you are not the priest who accompanies my steps. Please come out, for the sake of friendship that has ever existed!" inner Vira pilu.
"Bu Vira, why do you think he gave it to you?" said Fandi astonished, Vira looked up at Fandi. Vira stood up to the food Fandi brought. Grasping tightly a box of candy tucked on top of Vira's favorite yellow rice.
"Because he introduced me to the sweet, spicy and sour taste of sweets. He taught me the yellow color of rice, the red of chili and the green of vegetables. He made me taste salty yellow rice, tasteless vegetable flavor and spicy red chili. He introduced me to the true meaning of life to me!"
"I mean mother?"
"He made me understand, when we were sure sweets were always sweet. Believe it or not there is a spicy and sour taste of candy. That is how life is when it feels the sweetness of being happy. We must be ready to feel the sourness and the spiciness of life is difficult. It's the spiciness that will make us cry, the acid that will make us sick. Color will always exist in a bland life though. He calms my complaining heart. He wiped my tears that were dripping. When I lost my leader's father. He taught me the meaning of gratitude, even when I cry. He reminds me of crying, when laughter was on my face!"
"You really appreciate it. Is that the reason you find it hard to accept lord Azzam!" fandi said honestly, Vira shook her head weakly.
"I have never doubted Azzam, but his presence is now real to my heart. I don't want to meet him to be with him. I want to end something that has to end. Because my heart is real!"
"Sorry if I'm sassy. If one day the meeting makes the mother worried. Will mother embrace him and release lord Azzam!"
"Let's go, let the time answer!"
"Mother is right, the answer time is the best wait!"
"Fandi, book a ticket for me tomorrow. I'll be back, Vika will be married. I don't want him to feel alone!" vira said firmly, Fandi nodded in agreement. Vira came out of her room. Vira forgot her dinner. No more hunger or fatigue felt by Vira.
"Until when did you just stare at Vira's back? Until when do you hope? When did that hope ever exist?" said a woman to a handsome young man. The two people who were watching Vira since an hour ago.
"Until I get tired of this life and think about ending it!"
