"What did Ain ask?"
Ikram's gaze was hard to interpret as he heard a question from Nadia.
What answer do you want, Nadia?
Ikram gulps down saliva. Nervous and hesitant to answer Nadia's question just now. Would if he told the truth, Nadia would be as hard-witted as Ain? Ikram was struck by tremendous distress.
Facing Ain's hard attitude alone he was overwhelmed, plus Nadia who did not know how to react when she heard Ain's request.
While quietly, Ain eavesdropped from behind the door of his room. Want to know what her husband is talking about as well as her honeymoon. He got closer to the door when he heard Nadia talking about her request. That's what she wants, Nadia hears Ikram asking for her permission to remarry.
"You don't need to know, Nadia. It's enough Mas charged you all this time with taking care of the children in the foundation, and for this matter you don't need to know," replied Ikram in the end hiding what Ain asked.
Nadia sighed, feeling considered a stranger in her own husband's house. He turned away from the gaze of Ikram and lowered his head. Staring at the clean white ceramic floor he was gazing on. Like the earth that never felt tired and sick when everyone stepped on it and even threw dirt on it.
"Do you still think of me as someone else? Why can't I know about that?" nadia asked softly with her head lowered deeply.
Ikram again faced with a situation gone awry. Did he need to tell Nadia and hurt her heart. Or keep it a secret to keep his feelings.
Ain growled in his place eavesdropping. Condemning the unambiguous Pledge of what Nadia asked. He clenched his angry hands. Upset at Ikram being unfair to her.
"It's not so, Nadia. It's just that Ain's request really can't be accepted by birth and mind. Not ready to fulfill this request. Mas also doubt whether you are ready to hear it if only Mas said that," replied Ikram did not want Nadia to be misunderstood because of it.
Nadia rubbed her cheek as a drop of water fell on her, she turned her head and smiled at Ikram. A smile that implied the sadness of his heart.
"If Mas thinks of me as a wife, Mas shouldn't hide anything from me. Unless Mas thinks I'm a stranger, then Mas deserves to do that" Nadia said with heated eyes about to cry.
Again a breath of tired issued Ikram to unravel his feelings that convoluted the heart.
"Are you sure you want to hear it?" Ikram firmly with an unbearable view on Nadia.
"Tell me, Mas. Whatever it is I'll be ready to hear it" Nadia said without hesitation.
The sighing creed weighed the turbulent sense of what was being pierced in the heart.
"Mas is worried that you will think after hearing it," Ikram said again had imagined how Nadia's life after hearing this.
"Please calm down, I'll be fine" he said. He had to know what Ain was asking until his elder brother was tough on Ikram.
Ikram stared intently at Nadia's hazel bead. To see the nature that exists in him. Beautiful and sometimes beautiful.
"Ain asked Mas to marry again" he said without deciding the views of Nadia.
I was stunned to see that smile. The same smile as usual.
"Absolutely who is the candidate that Mr. Ain prepared?" nadia asked, making herself as calm as possible, even though her heart was struggling with a strange, piercing turmoil.
Oh ... is this how Mr Ain felt when Ikram asked his permission to remarry at that time?
Ikram looking at the face of Nadia. As smart as he hid the pain, Ikram was still able to catch it clearly. The smile he carved implied his feeling being torn apart.
"There was a widow Mas worshipper he said. Often the scorn of people because he lives alone. Ain wanted Mas to marry him to raise his degree so as not to become the scorn of the neighbors." Once again I saw that face.
The same ripples that Ain showed at that time. It's just, Nadia looks calmer responding to him. Maybe he could have imagined it before.
Nadia turned her face away from Ikram. Although his lips formed a smile, the pain in his heart could not be eliminated. It was like being stabbed by thousands of invisible needles. Sicker than when the disease recurred.
"If it really wants Ain's brother, and Mas Rido why not just fulfill it? Surely Mr. Ain will not be as hard as he is now and can also restore his smile that was lost some time ago," said Nadia while staring at Ikram who returned dumbstruck with a calm attitude.
"Don't push yourself, Nadia. You don't have to sacrifice too much just to make Ain happy. All this time you have suffered with all the rules he made. Then, now you also want to torture yourself to fulfill Ain's wishes. Didn't the sins increase for Mas, Nadia? Sometimes two wives can't be fair. How will Mas face Rabb with this sinful state of Mas?" Ikram continued to say his rejection of Nadia.
Nadia returned to smile. His patience and strength never seemed to diminish. He kept smiling despite living under the pressure and shadow of Ain's rule. Maybe that's his way of hiding the pain he's been through.
"Mas doesn't have to worry about me. Don't think too much about my feelings. God willing I am fine and willingly accept if it makes Brother Ain smile again" said Nadia again with extraordinary rigor.
Ain screeched. He felt Nadia was a hypocrite and was looking face to face in front of Ikram.
"It's smart of you to act. You think I'm gonna feel sorry and pull back my words? It never will!" muttered Ain slowly. It was sick of Ain seeing Nadia's weak nature. According to him, Nadia only pretended to attract the sympathy of Ikram to keep defending him.
"Sneaky!" he murmured again really hate the figure of Nadia.
"No! I don't want to make the same mistakes as before. What if Mas is unable to carry out Mas's obligations as a husband with three wives? Mas will come to God with limping feet," said Ikram still in his stance does not want to marry again.
Nadia smiled faintly, she lowered her head for a while then raised her face looking at the window that revealed the darkness of the night.
"I should have thought about this risk before deciding to marry me. Why think about it now when everything is done. The decision is in the hands of the. Does Mas want to let sister Ain like that which will only accumulate sins on him. Will not the sins of a wife be borne by her husband?" Nadia turned back to Ikram. The man is confused by it.
"I'm saying goodbye, Mas. It's late" Nadia said after glancing at the clock on the wall. He went to experience the Kram without wanting to linger again.
Undeterred, Ikram also stood up and hugged Nadia. He felt very guilty because of past events and current affairs.
"I'm sorry, Nadia. I'm sorry." he cried while hugging his second wife. Nadia returned a hug and cried. Ain of course did not see because he had slammed himself on the bed.
