Second Time

PASTIME

"Ken, it seems like it's time for you to act again." Dafa spoke without turning his eyes to the tablet screen in his hand. She was watching a recording of Grace meeting with Laura.

"Yes." Yeah." Ken nodded.

"This woman is getting worse."

"When I've been kind to her, but she seems to be obsessed with you."

"I don't understand why he's so ambitious, when it's obvious I never dated him."

"Of course." Ken shrugged both of his shoulders.

"It seems like the woman's brain is less than half."

"Maybe he doesn't have a brain." Ken chuckles.

"I don't like it when she's been involving Grace, especially if it's messing with Grace's life."

"Yes, it looks like the woman will do anything for her purpose."

"Hmmm if he keeps bothering Grace, make sure to do it last."

"okay." Ken nodded.

"All right, get back to work."

Ken simply nodded and immediately walked out of the Dafa room. He returned to his room, not working but sitting and leaning on his couch. Ken was silent and staring at the ceiling of the room and daydreaming, his habit that was almost done every day.

"All the work for today and the day after tomorrow is done, I have a little time to relax. I just need to think about Laura and Grace right now." Ken spoke to himself.

Ken got up from his seat and walked to the front of a large glass window that revealed a scene of boisterous urban human activity. Ken recalled Jane, the girl said yesterday while walking with him.

"Just finish your job with Mr. Dafa, just think about our relationship."

Ken had told Jane all about it, he had trusted the girl a hundred percent. No one knows anything about his life other than his family, Dafa, Andres and himself. Now an increasing number of people he gave full confidence, not only holding the secret of his life but also holding his heart.

Ken had to finish everything related to Dafa first. He must ensure Dafa's happiness fully before he pursues his own happiness. Ken wanted to keep his promise to be beside Dafa until the man actually got what he meant.

It used to be that after Ken decided to part with his ex-lover, he no longer thought about his own feelings. Unthinkable for her to find a new lover, she focuses on Dafa to help her in the company and help Dafa find her missing lover.

Ken never thought he would fall back in love, and he fell in love at the wrong time. Although Dafa and Grace have met, Dafa is not fully with Grace, which means there are many things Ken still has to do.

Ken wakes up from his sleep when he hears the ringing of his cell phone. He stared at the screen of his phone, an anonymous number on it. Ken frowned and hesitantly pressed the accept button.

"Hello." The soft voice of a woman was heard across the street.

Ken was silent, he heard a voice that he had not heard for a very long time.

"Hello? Ken? Is this Ken's number?"

"Yes." Yeah." Ken finally answered.

"Thank God, I think I entered the number wrong." The woman sounded chuckled.

"Yes." Yeah." Only that word came out of Ken's mouth.

"You still remember me, don't you? Do you still recognize my voice?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Hey, why is that the only word that comes out of your mouth."

"Hmmm, what's the matter with Nayra calling me?"

"I want to ask you a favor, Ken."

"What's that?"

"About two weeks I'm going to the same town as you."

"Then?"

"There was a job call there, but I didn't know the city at all. Can you help me find a place to stay?"

"All right."

"Mmm are you busy?"

"Little."

"Well, I'll call you back later Ken."

"Yes." Yeah."

"Thank you." Nayra cut off the phone.

Ken put his phone on the table, he fell silent again. His mind turned around quickly again, Ken holding his temple. A faint feeling came to his head suddenly.

"What is this problem?" Ken breathed out slowly.

Nayra, the woman he once loved so much. Ken's first love ever filled his heart, as well as the first woman to hurt him. Ken no longer loves Nayra, but he also cannot hate her. Ken's injury was, however, terrible, but he never took revenge on the woman.

Ken can't even refuse to be asked for help by Nayra, not because she still loves him but because of Ken's caring nature to anyone who is attached to him. Ken could never ignore anyone who asked for his help as long as it was for a good cause.

One thing that makes Ken feel worried right now, now he's with Jane. If Nayra comes back, a little more might make a misunderstanding between her and Jane. Moreover, Nayra needed his help and Ken could not refuse her.

"God, what am I supposed to do?"

Ken grabbed his phone, got up from his seat and walked back to the window. She contacted her mother, perhaps hearing her voice could calm her feelings at this moment.

"Hello, Mother?"

"Yes, what's wrong?"

"Mother?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Job problems?"

"Yes." Yeah." Ken's lying.

"Are you exhausted."

"Just a little dizzy." Ken chuckles.

"Ken, take a break if you're tired."

"Hmmm, mommy?"

"Yes?"

"Do you think you can destroy the future?"

"Then what do you mean?"

"Hmm for example, someone who had been present at the time of the mother suddenly came back when the mother was already with the father."

"Oh, if that was the case then there would only be three possibilities. First, we may receive back mass and lose mass. Second, we reject mass and focus on the future. Third, we make peace with the masses and can still focus on the future."

"Then, which one will you choose?"

"Why?"

The second possibility is the safest thing for future life, because if people are toxic then the mother will certainly reject it because the mother does not want to destroy the future."

"Then, why can you choose the third possibility?"

"Peace with mass can always be an option, but you also have to have the support of the partner who is currently beside you."

"Why?"

"If a person is present only to say hello without any intention to return or to disturb then you can make peace with him. But back with your partner, can he accept it? If he can accept then you can make peace with your mass, but if your partner is depressed and can not accept then release the mass, reject and choose the second possibility."

"Is that so?"

"Yes, in the end it depends on yourself. There's something you have to decide from the beginning if you always come back to greet you."

"Be normal, don't make someone feel like they're coming back if you don't expect it to come back either."

"And certainly never lie about Nayra to Jane if she asks."

"Mom know?"

"Mom always knew about you Keenan. I also knew that Nayra would go to the city where you are now." She smiled even though she was invisible to her son.

"Where do you know?"

"Even if you're separated, you know that your father is not good friends with Nayra's father. Her father said that Nayra would work there."

"I'm a little worried mom, Nayra just called me and asked for my help."

"What are you worried about?"

"Jane."

"What are you worried about Jane?"

"I'm afraid she's misunderstood Nayra's coming back to my life."

"You can explain to her what really happened if she asks later."

"Jane is too kind-hearted, she is the girl who will give up her happiness for the happiness of others. I'm afraid she thought that I'd be happy if I met Nayra back." I'm afraid he's leaving me." Ken finally expressed all his feelings.

"It feels like mother's voice has diminished after hearing mother's voice." Ken smiled.

"Yes, yeah, don't hesitate to tell mom if you have a problem."

"Yes mother."

"Whatever happens, stay a good man mother's favorite."

"Good mother." Ken chuckles, mom turns off the phone.

Ken stared back out the window, thinking about which possibilities he would take on Nayra. However he must make the best decision, Ken must prepare from now on for his relationship with Jane.
