Second Time

JANE-FAMILY WARM

I set foot back to this place where I was born after a few months. I was greeted warmly by both my parents, they seemed to miss me as much as I missed them.

“Jane” Mom hugs me.

“Mother.” I returned his embrace.

“Why did you just come home now?”

“Much to do there mom.” I'm looking for an excuse.

“Really?” dad scrunched his forehead as if in disbelief.

“True dad.” I smile.

“What are you not busy dating there?”

“Yeah dad, your son is still alone right now, I have no lover.”

“I'm not sure.” She laughs.

“Already, already. Later the debate continued.” Mother mediates

“Dad started bu.” I laughed, and I didn't answer anymore. Fathers are the type of husbands who fear wives, so whatever mom says as long as it's true to her

I would not dare to argue.

“Alright, you rest first.” My mother led me to my room.

“Mana Darren?”

“She hasn't come home yet, maybe in a moment.” Mom smiled.

“Where is he?”

“Pick up his future wife, he will bring her dinner with us tonight.” Dad chuckles.

“What? When is Darren getting married? Why do I know now?”

“He deliberately did not tell you, he said he wanted to give you a surprise.” Mother explains.

“Who's the girl's mom?”

“Later tonight you will meet him.” Mom smiled.

“Good.” I pursed my lips for not getting a satisfactory answer.

“Rest first, come out at dinner later.” Mom rubbed my shoulder.

“Mmm.” I nodded and entered my room.

I immediately took a shower and rested for a while while waiting for dinner time to arrive. I was very curious about the figure that would be Darren's wife. Why do I know now that Darren's getting married, that guy's very good at hiding it from me. Darren is my only brother, me and he don't look like brothers. We fought more than reconciled and got along.

He doesn't seem to care much about my life, but I actually know he loves me. I knew it was Darren who always protected me when Liam was always looking for me back then. Darren knows everything about me without me even telling you because he really cares about me. Darren has always been a shield for me even without me knowing.

The last time I saw him fight with Liam because he kept looking for me, I didn't say

that I saw the incident to him. Nor did he say that he had hit Liam just to protect me. I remember back then he just said that he was fighting with his friend.

I never told him about my problems with Liam, but Darren really knew I didn't know it was possible that he learned the science of fortune-telling. Tonight I will meet his future wife, I am very curious, which woman is interested in the figure of Darren who always looks cold and never seen holding a woman all this time.

Half an hour later at dinner, I can't wait for him. I was so angry because there was nothing I could do but watch television. Curiosity is really taking hold of me right now, I'm bemoaning Darren who has hidden everything from me. I will curse him when I meet him later.

Finally dinner time had arrived, I came out of the room and entered the dining room. There's my mom and dad sitting there, there's no sign of Darren and his girlfriend. I took a seat next to my mother, and she seemed to be talking to my father who was sitting next to her.

“Is Darren not here yet?” I asked mom.

“You look impatient Jane, are you very curious about your future sister-in-law?” Dad chuckles.

“Of course, he could have hidden it from me.” I put on an upset face

A moment later came two people who were waiting. Darren smiled brightly while holding a beautiful woman, he walked slowly towards us. The woman also smiled even though she looked a little awkward, but it did not detract from her beauty. I was stunned, Darren could attract such a beautiful girl, I became more curious about her love story.

“Hai, tengil boy.” Darren sat in my front seat, he let his girlfriend sit next to him.

“Huh.” I just grunt.

“Hey, what is it? Why are you showing an upset face to me?” She laughs.

“You pissed me off first.” I'm staring.

“I piss you off? I haven't even done anything.” He's getting laugh.

“Why didn't you tell me you were getting married?”

“It's a surprise, Jane. Don't you want a surprise?”

“No!”

“Already, do not argue at the dining table.” Mother mediates.

“Yes, aren't you guys shy about fighting in front of Kaitlin?” Dad chimed.

I immediately turned to the woman, she smiled at me and I returned her smile. I almost forgot about his presence because I was busy arguing with Darren. This beautiful woman turned out to be named Kaitlin, a beautiful name as beautiful as her person.

“Jane, this is Kaitlin, my future wife.” Darren grabbed the girl's shoulder.

“Ya.” I'm nodding.

“You can call him Kai.” Darren smiled brightly, he looked very happy, the woman also kept smiling.

“Sister-in-law, my name is Jane.” I smiled at him.

“Ya Jane, nice to meet you.” His voice is very soft.

“Oh yes brother-in-law, since when did you guys hook up?" I feel kepo directly ceplas ceplos.

“Mmm, it's been about 2 years.” She smiles.

“What? Hey Darren, why did you hide my sister-in-law from me that long?” I glared at Darren.

“Calm, Jane. I told you this was a surprise.” He just laughed.

“Dad, mom, do you guys know their relationship all along?” I looked at my mom and dad.

“Ya.” They answered together.

“Why are you so mean to me?” I put on a sad face.

“Already, Jane. Now you've met Kai.” My smiling mother rubbed my shoulder.

“Ya, let's have dinner first.” Dad chimed in, he looked hungry already.

I didn't answer anymore, we started dinner quietly. This dinner was so much fun for me. I've had dinner alone for a few months, even though I've eaten with Grace or with Ken a few times. I miss having dinner with my family like this, now my family members will be one more, Darren's wife-to-be.

After dinner we gathered in the living room and had a warm conversation. Kai turned out to be very close to both my parents, in an instant me and he were familiar too. I think Kai is a very gentle girl in every way, not just her way of speaking but also her body style and mannerisms. He's good at carrying himself and adjusting, I'm even very happy to talk to him.

The night was getting late, everyone was getting sleepy. Father and mother decided to sleep, Darren drove Kai to the guest room, he will stay here tonight. I went from the living room to the pool, I sat by the pool, my favorite place in the house. I stared at the dim lights that were there, I miss this house so much.
