Second Time

OLD FRIEND

"Adel?"

"Daniel?"

Adel was aghast when he saw Daniel in front of him, the man was one of his friends while studying in Australia. They both studied in hospitality and culinary. Actually their campus is different, Adel studied at Le Cordon Bleu while Daniel studied at the William Angliss Institute which is both located in the city of Sidney. They often meet at one of the same organizations off campus.

They are always together and their friendship is very close until finally Adel returned to Indonesia first after completing all his college affairs. After that they separated and never met again. Today was the first time they had met again after a few years had passed.

"Hey, why are your eyes soaked?" Did you just cry." Daniel sat in the chair opposite Adel.

"Little." Adel forced to smile.

"You why? Any issues?" Daniel looked gently at Adel.

"Daniel, come here, sit here." Adel patted the chair beside him.

Daniel complied and immediately sat down beside Adel, he stared in surprise at the girl. Suddenly Adel hugged him and immediately shed his tears on Daniel's shoulder. The girl cried so much that her body shook. Adel continued to cry regardless of the confused looks of the people around them.

"Calm down." Daniel rubbed Adel's back gently even though he didn't know the cause of the girl crying.

Adel finally began to calm down, no longer heard his crying voice. Adel rubbed his eyes to wash away the remaining tears. Daniel gives her a tissue so Adel can wipe away her tears.

"Are you feeling better now?" Daniel smiled at the girl.

"M." Mmm." Adel nodded.

"Alright, drink this." Daniel opened the bottle of mineral water available on the table and gave it to Adel.

Adel drank the water until it was almost finished, it seems like he was thirsty after crying for quite a long time. Daniel looked at Adel's face which looked red and more and more puffy. Daniel is curious about what happened to Adel, but he does not want to force the girl to tell him the story. He would wait until the girl was calm.

"Daniel." Adel finally opened his mouth.

"Yes?"

"What are you doing here?"

"Should I have asked that?" Daniel smiled.

"I'm walking here, what about you?"

"I'm the owner of this cafe." Daniel chuckles.

"really? You're the owner of this cool cafe?" Adel's eyes are round.

"Of course, did you see the name yourself?"

"And the Classic Cafe?"

"And is the name of the owner."

"Daniel?"

"Of course, that's my name." Daniel chuckles.

"Where did you get the idea of making a cafe with a retro feel like this?" Adel looked very admiring of the cafe.

"Of course, the idea popped into my head."

"This place is really cool, I really like it." Adel seemed to be smiling as if he had forgotten what he had just done.

"You know what?" Daniel looked at Adel

"What's?

"Just this time you praise me, first whatever I do will be your plumbing." Daniel laughed a little.

"Yes, whatever you do is always a mess." Adel chuckles.

"Yes, you make me always try to be better, your honest insults to me used to encourage me to keep learning." Daniel chuckles to remember their friendship in the past

"Thank you to me, Mr. Daniel." Adel chuckles.

"Yes, thank you for helping me mentally." Daniel chuckles.

"Of course, you have an amazing talent, it's just that you didn't realize it."

"Yes, even I was always being careless back then."

"Niel, how are you doing now?"

"As you can see, I'm very good." Daniel smiled.

"Mmm, you look so happy." Adel forced a smile.

"You look gloomy." Daniel chuckles.

"Yes, I do look very gloomy today." Adel smiled wryly.

"What really happened to you, Del?"

"Niel, my girlfriend is in Singapore, I'm here to surprise her on her birthday today."

"Continue?"

"It turns out I'm the one who got the surprise."

"What's that?"

"He's with his girlfriend here." Adel smiled bitterly.

"What do you mean by her other lover?"

"Yes, and they've been in contact behind me for a long time." Adel chuckled very bitterly.

"Where is he now?"

"I don't know, I went away from him and turned off my phone, I don't care anymore." Adel stared at his phone lying on the table.

"Mmm okay, is that your suitcase?" Daniel pointed at the suitcase beside Adel.

"Yes." Yeah." Adel nodded.

"Where are you staying?"

"You stay at my place." Daniel looked at Adel.

"Don't you bother?"

"No."

"What about your girlfriend? Will he not be angry?" Adel asked seriously.

"I don't have a boyfriend." Daniel chuckles.

"You sure?"

"Yes." Yeah." Daniel nodded.

"A man as handsome and brave as you don't have a lover? I don't think I'm sure." Adel shakes.

"You're still chatty even in times of heartbreak like this." Daniel laughs.

"Huh, are you mocking me now? Do you want to return my taunts to you first?" Adel pursed his lips.

"No, no, I'm just kidding." Daniel smiled

"Niel, am I hungry?"

"Hey, haven't you ordered anything yet?" Daniel stared at the table, only to realize that there was no food there.

"Not yet." Adel nodded

"Well, wait a minute I'll have my waiter bring you some food.

Daniel leaves Adel and disappears behind the door to the cafe kitchen. Adel waiting at his desk, he returned to daydreaming after Daniel left, his thoughts only focused on his relationship with Ansel. Adel thought about what he should do after this, should he continue to survive with his relationship that was already flawed from the beginning?

Adel kept daydreaming, his mind leaving his body somewhere. Adel was not even aware that some food was already on the table. Daniel sat down and smiled at the girl who was not conscious even though she was in front of him.

"Are you going to keep daydreaming until tomorrow?" Daniel chuckles to make Adel aghast.

"Daniel?" Adel stared in confusion as Daniel was already in front of him with plenty of food on the table.

"You've been daydreaming for a long time." Daniel chuckles.

"really?"

"Yes, now eat."

"All right." Adel nodded and started eating his food.

Daniel just smiled at Adel who looked excited about eating his food. The girl continued to devour what was in front of her. It seems like he is really starving at the moment.

"Are you not eating?" Adel spoke with his mouth still filled with food.

"No, you're just." Daniel smiled.

Adel continued to eat it greedily, he really spent all the food served. Adel chewed and swallowed the last meal of his mouth. He rubbed his stomach indicating he was already very full.

"The menu you're treating is really delicious." Adel chuckles.

"You're like someone who hasn't eaten a week." Daniel laughs.

"Yes, I'm really starving."

"But you're great, Del. Usually a girl who is heartbroken will lose her appetite. But you're different, you're eating all this food." Daniel chuckles.

"My heart has suffered enough, I don't want to make my stomach suffer too." Adel chuckled while holding his stomach.

"All right, let's go home now. It's late, you need to rest."

"Aren't you here until the cafe closes?"

"No, my servants will shut it down."

"Mmm, okay."

Daniel and Adel leave the cafe. Daniel drove the car to his house not too far from the cafe. It was not until fifteen minutes that they finally reached Daniel's house. Daniel escorts Adel to the guest room that will be occupied by Adel.

"Del, rest comfortably, think of it as your own room."

"Thank you, Niel, you've helped me."

"Yes, I'll go to my room. If you need me, just knock on my room."

"Where's your room?"

"That." Daniel pointed at the door that was the most different in the house.

"The room with the door is strange." Adel laughed softly.

"Hey, that's good."

"The doors in your house are all black, why is your door yellow?"

"That color means that no one can enter that room but me." Daniel chuckles.

"Is that a forbidden door?" Adel laughs.

"Yes, that kind of thing." Daniel chuckled again.

"It's ridiculous." Adel kept laughing.

"I'm used to your taunts."

"Are you immune?" Adel chuckles

"Of course." Daniel chuckles. "Well, I'll go to my room."

"Yes." Yeah." Adel nodded.

"Rest, good night." Daniel smiled and passed from before Adel.

"Good night, Niel." Adel closed the door.
