On Monday morning, James left for school as usual because teaching and learning activities for students of class X and XI are still held. But this time he came not to teach, but to be held accountable about the events that occurred at the camping event yesterday.
Cindy's parents demanded the school to take responsibility for the incident, because it happened when the school event was held. Therefore this morning, the parties concerned were immediately asked to come to the school to be asked for information and sought a solution together in a family.
"Excuse me .." said James entering the principal's room.
"Please sit down, Mr. James." The Chief invited James to sit down.
On the sofa in the department room, Cindy was flanked by her parents, Mr. Roy, and the supervising teacher of Cindy's group at a camping event.
Cindy looked down and scared. Unlike usual, this time he did not see James at all.
"So this is a teacher named James?" ask Mr. Prawira, Cindy's father.
"Yes, sir, " said Bu Kepsek answer his question.
Not yet had James sat down, Mr. Prawira had already risen from his seat and floated a ton to James' cheek, which made James fall with the corner of a bloody lip.
"Father!!!" cindy shouted straight towards James, trying to protect her teacher from being hit by her father.
While Bu Kepsek and Mr. Roy try to calm Cindy's father who already looks floundering. "Patience, Sir .... Patience .... We try to talk slowly .." they said almost simultaneously.
"How can you be patient?!! Which father can patiently accept, when his daughter is allowed to go to school, now home is already in a tarnished state??!! Worse still was the school teacher!! Try it!! Tell me, which father?!!!" Mr. Prawira exclaimed in his anger.
"Cindy told Papa, Mr. James doesn't realize, Pa! James is drunk! And that's because of Cindy too, who offered Papa's friend's brandy chocolate to Mr. James!" bela Cindy's.
"You can still stand up for the person who desecrated you!!" exclaimed Mr. Prawira did not understand the behavior of his son.
"That's why! How can anyone who eats a little chocolate just get drunk? It is from the beginning of his account that must be questioned. If a man has been living alone with a woman in a lonely place, where might not take advantage of the opportunity to satisfy his lust?!" Mama Cindy quips James.
"Please, Father and Mother, be patient. Don't be a vigilante. Can we talk one by one to clearly sit down the matter? Because the school does not understand exactly what happened, " said Bu Kepsek trying to control the situation.
Cindy's parents tried to hold back their emotions. Mr. Prawira immediately returned to his seat.
"Sir James can get up and sit down so we can start talking?" ask Bu Kepsek.
"May, ma'am, "James replied, wiping the blood on the tip of his lips. Cindy tries to help James get up, then sits next to James.
After all sitting down and things were quite calm, Madam Kepsek started her conversation. "Maybe we can start from Bu Lani? Can you tell me what happened, ma'am?" ask her to the supervising teacher of Cindy's group.
"Okay, ma'am, " replied Bu Lani short.
He also began to tell her what happened. It starts at around 3pm, where Cindy asks for her permission to go to the waterfall with the IPA children and has not returned until 5pm. Until finally he got the news that only the IPA children who were with him returned, while Cindy herself somehow disappeared to where.
A private search was conducted by dividing into groups, because the mountain supervisory section and the camp refused to conduct the search at that time on the grounds that it was getting dark. And finally Wendy Cindy's best friend who joined the group Mr. James was, who reported to him that Cindy had been found, even though James himself did not return with her.
Apparently Cindy fell into a steep area like a cliff. And somehow it happened, Mr. James experienced something similar so he could accidentally find Cindy.
Because it was dark and it was raining, Wendy told him that James told him to come back first and report to him to stop the search for safety reasons. Mr. James also told them to come back to help him and Cindy in the morning.
"Because we believe in Mr. James' words, we just returned to that place the next day. Unexpectedly as soon as we managed to get downstairs on the safety rope, Cindy burst into tears hugging me and complaining that Mr. James had desecrated her." Bu Lani ended her story.
"Br*ngs!! Teacher bi*dab!! Apparently you had planned to vent your lust that night! Why if you have not met directly helped?! Just say for safety!!" tipped Mr. Prawira to James.
James could only be silent on hearing the accusation. Something he did with a good purpose, now doubtful and misinterpreted.
"Quiet, Sir! Don't cut it first. Let each one speak first so that everything is open here, " said Mr. Kepsek to Mr. Prawira.
Because Mr. Prawira was silent, Mrs Kepsek continued her statement, "Maybe Mr. Roy want to add?"
"As Ms. Lani told us, we returned to the place Wendy had appointed the next morning. Seeing Cindy crying, Lani and Wendy immediately calm Cindy down. As for me personally, getting into the rock niche that Cindy said they were both sheltering last night. There I found Mr. James still asleep in his pants .. sorry ... already partially degenerated, " Mr. Roy's story.
Hearing that, Madam Prawira sobbed, while Mr. Prawira tightened her jaw. It feels like he's back to punch the bi*dab teacher. Mr. Roy's remarks further clarify what happened to Cindy.
"As I said, Mom.... Once we found a niche to shelter, we were starving. Understand, we haven't had dinner yet. I also remember that I carried brandy chocolate in my waist bag. The chocolate plan I will show off and share with my friends. That chocolate is what I offered to Mr. James to prop up the stomach. I didn't know James couldn't stand alcohol" Cindy said.
"You're fooled, boy! It's just his wits!" mrs Prawira exclaimed in the midst of her sobs.
"No, Ma .... James is really drunk! Cindy can be different from a real drunk or pretend! Like a drunk dad after drinking with his friends! Mr. James's face is red as a boiled crab. By the way uda ngawur kayak ngelindur people. Anyway Cindy's sure it wasn't something James planned!" cindy defended James.
Hearing that, Cindy's parents fell silent again. Bu Kepsek sighed.
"It's not meant to defend our teacher, sir, ma'am. But all the time working here, Mr. James has never been in trouble. You could even say he is a good teacher and liked by students. Maybe this incident was purely out of his consciousness, " said Bu Kepsek co-defend James.
"From Mr. James himself, would you say something in defense?" Mrs Kekek continued her talk.
"Nothing, Mom. I'm not going to defend myself, because I honestly don't remember anything at all. I'm really drunk. I am not strong with alcohol. For that part, it's up to you to believe it or not" James said.
"Because you're not evasive, you're ready to be held accountable?" Mr. Prawira asked James.
"Yes. As long as I can do it, sir, " replied James.
"All right! I'm asking you to marry Cindy. I can't possibly match her up to her condition which is no longer holy. It could be a disgrace to our family. You agree?" ask Mr. Prawira again.
James could only swallow the bitter reality that was plastered in front of him. With a heavy heart as if slashed, James said, "Yes, sir. I'm going to marry Cindy. But please permission, may I do so in accordance with my belief as a Christian?"
"Just whatever. Our family is not fanatical about any particular religion. The important thing is Cindy agrees. So how are you willing to marry James according to his beliefs, Cin?" ask the father to his daughter.
"Yes, Pa .... Cindy said, "indy answered with her head down.
"Of course he's willing to take responsibility! Perhaps that was the goal, raising the status of a poor teacher to the son-in-law of a businessman!" nyinyir Cindy's.
James could only resignedly accept the accusations directed at him. Is that the view of a rich person towards someone with a lower status than him? All negative prejudiced thoughts were thrown at him, as if he was not well.
"No, Ma! James has a director's girlfriend! So he has no motivation like the one you're accusing him of." Cindy defended James.
"Director? Where possible? It's just the shit! Can you be that naive, Cindy?! After you've experienced something like this, you still defend that b*jat teacher?!!" Madam Prawira shook her head.
"It's up to you to be honest or lie about your director's girlfriend. What I want to ask is, how will your relationship with him be? Because I don't want Cindy to suffer for being cheated on. No father marries his daughter without assuring her happiness, " said Mr. Prawira.
James swallowed his saliva. He was forced to say something implied never in his mind.
"I understand, Sir. I will break my relationship with him, " James said bitterly.
Mr. Prawira was silent. He began to appreciate the young man in front of him. It seemed like this young man was indeed a straight young man, who was unfortunately unaware of what he was doing while drunk. And for this event, it could have been a pure accident where this young man did not know that he would be drunk because of chocolate.
"alright. Looks like there's been a way out, sir, Mom. As we promised, we will keep this matter under control until it is finished as a proof of our responsibility. So later we just wait for news from Mr. James when the wedding, so?" asked Bu Kepsek trying to conclude the conversation.
"Yes, Mom. I will call later. I'll talk to my pastor first, " replied James.
"Don't take too long! I'm afraid that Cindy might get pregnant because of this and her son would be a bastard!" exclaim Mrs Prawira.
"I'll try to do it quickly, Mom. Mom and Dad can keep my contact number if I'm afraid I'm running away from responsibility" James told Cindy's parents.
"Mah HP numbers can be discarded and replaced at any time!" sindir Madam Prawira.
"We'll help keep an eye on Mr. James so as not to lose responsibility, ma'am. And with regard to that, please excuse Mr. James .... For the sake of the good name of the school, our father first home. From tomorrow on, I don't have to teach anymore. But the presence of my father remains I wait for the follow-up to the settlement of this case. That's it, sir?" asked the Principal more to confirm his decision to James.
"Yes, Mom. I understand, " said James with his head bowed.
The Headmaster's mother could only sigh at James. Honestly, there was a pity to see the fate of the young man. But how else? Even if he does it unconsciously, he still has to take responsibility for what he has done.
Thus the morning conversation ended with a temporary decision that had been made. Prawira's family also gave permission to leave the school. And so does James. He is welcome to leave school in the period of time either until when new he can return to teach.
