Engagement Day

The engagement day arrived. The party will be held around 17:30. The invited guests are only two families, namely the family of the younger brother and sister of Mr. Adipratama. The event that will be held was simple, only in the form of an engagement announcement and dinner together. However, the preparation done is like a big party.

From about 10 am, the interior designer and all of his staff hired by Mr. Adipratama, have started to improve decorating the house. Starting from the entrance, living room, dining room, family room, swimming pool, to the backyard.

Because the house already has the impression of luxury and elegance since the beginning, not too much to change. Just move some furniture positions, combine colors and add decoration accessories. In just a few moments, the house that was nuanced residence was soon turned into a fitting place to hold an engagement party.

Large curtains in each room are equated with shades of pink and white. The ceiling of the house is decorated with a party tent with a model of a scarf that curves around the chandelier crystal lamp. Likewise with chairs and tables decorated with matching colored ribbons.

Ornamental flowers are installed everywhere with different types and sizes. There are those who decorate the walls of the room, some are in the form of a bouquet of display flowers, some are circling ornamental lamp posts that stand in the corners of the room by emitting a dim yellow light.

Especially the dining room and family room, the decoration is coupled with ice cube sculptures placed on the dining table. The ice cube sculpture is in the form of a charming goose and decorated with lights, so it adds to the elegance of the party room.

At around 16:30, catering officers began to arrive carrying orders for cuisine. Indeed, for this event, the cuisine that will be served is not cooked by the Adipratama family chef, considering the portions and variety of dishes requested are quite large in number. The chef is only asked to suggest a menu that will be served.

Food preparation is done in the kitchen. Fine-dining menu is placed there to enter the next stage, namely plating (noted: Plating is the process of arranging and decorating food on a plate to perfect its presentation).

Some snacks were taken to the living room. The food is then arranged on small tables that have been arranged spread in the room like a booth.

By 17:00, the whole family had gathered in the living room. They were all wearing red batik uniforms and were already preparing to welcome the guests who would be present in a moment.

The Wijaya family was stunned to see Mr. Adipratama wearing the same batik. Although Celine has said every family member will wear a uniform to avoid inequality, they still do not dare to hope that Mr. Adipratama will follow the agreement.

Because, although it has quite good quality and a brand that is known to the public, the batik they wear is not batik with number one quality. Could it be that a great businessman who used to wear the best quality clothes, would be willing to equate himself to wearing clothes like them?

The facts they get, make them grateful. It turns out that the candidates besan this time, not as arrogant as their previous candidates. Mr. Adipratama never demeaned them at all. At 17:20, the first guests arrived. Andreas Adipratama came with his wife and son. They were immediately escorted to the living room by Mbok Yani who was assigned as a guest greeter.

Not to mention the first guest getting acquainted and greeting, the second guest had already followed. Airin Adipratama came with her husband and her twins. Maybe it has become a habit for entrepreneurs to come on time, because for them time is money.

After everyone sat in the living room, Adrian Adipratama as the host stood up from his seat and said the opening words.

"Thank you to my brothers and sisters who have taken the time to share the joy of celebrating the engagement of our sons and daughters. To be closer, let me introduce the Wijaya Family who will be my besan." Hearing that sentence, simultaneously the whole family of Vijaya rose from his seat.

"They live in the city of B. They are not entrepreneurs, like the rest of us. They are a family who work as educators for generations. Only their first son was engaged in business as a business. After sitting down, the waiter began to turn over the wine glasses that were already available in front of their respective seats. The other two servants were seen standing waiting by holding crystals filled with a deep red liquid.

"As an opener, we will toast to pray for happiness for this young couple. Are there any of us who cannot drink wine, either for health reasons or for any reason? Of course our only little brother does not need to answer my question, " Adrian Adipratama said referring to Rico.

James raised his hand. He was hesitant to confess, but Celine, who was sitting next to him, coded him. Finally James chose to be honest, rather than later he made a fuss like his experience had been.

No one raised their hand. They are all accustomed to enjoying wine that is commonly served in socialite meetings in upper economic circles.

James caught a slanted smile emerging from the Twins face. I don't know what exactly is on their minds, which is clear they like laughing at James because of his inability to consume alcohol.

After that, one of the maids, holding a jar, began to come to each guest and fill the glass in front of them. While the second waiter immediately moved to fill the glass owned by James and Rico. Apparently only the first waiter brought wine in his jars. While the second waiter carries a similar colored syrup, so as not to see a noticeable difference.

After each glass was filled, Adrian Adipratama stood up from his chair and raised his glass. Everyone in the room followed what he did.

"Cheers !" sir Adrian Adipratama.

"Cheers !" Reply to everyone. Then they sip a drink in each glass and sit back down.

Food began to be served. Fine-dining themed menus begin to be delivered to everyone by the waiters. One by one the food began to be eaten, from Appetizer, Main Course, to Dessert.

After making sure everyone has finished enjoying his dinner, Adrian Adipratama stood up and invited everyone to move places.

"As I have said before, we will all move to the living room to enjoy togetherness as a big family there. Let's take a moment to talk to each other and familiarize ourselves with each other. There is also provided food and drinks that we can enjoy together so that the atmosphere is more relaxed, "he said. Then he began to walk and again led the line.

Each family rose again and followed the Host from behind. No exception the Wijaya Family who became one of the main stars today. They walked towards the living room feeling tense. Now is the time to face Adipratama's extended family. Celine's father had accepted them, but what about the rest of the family?
