Restore Your Smile
Mental Hazing

Tuesday is back. This time James brought a change of clothes to school just in case. He did not want the incident to be thumped by the grandmothers because it was suspected that the stingy doctor was repeated.

As usual too, he again fell silent in front of the door of the XI class of IPA. It does take more careful preparation before entering this class. He took a deep breath.

With a quick movement, he opened the classroom door while rewinding his body. He was afraid that something was happening from above, like the last time.

Sudden silence for a few seconds. The students of class XI IPA were surprised with the door suddenly opened. James himself was deliberately silent with a distance splashing in front of the classroom door, waiting for something to happen.

Apparently nothing fell. But, not James if satisfied just like that. This time with jelly he noticed the area around the door. Is there something hanging? Something that could trip him? Anything of that shape that could hurt him?

Once it felt safe enough, James entered the classroom. His ears began to redden from enduring embarrassment, considering his attitude earlier which could be categorized as strange for anyone who saw him. But with all his might, controlled his facial expression so that it looks indifferent.

Some of the students were whispering about the absurd behavior of their teacher they had just witnessed together. Some who do not want to take a headache just keep quiet waiting for the start of the lesson. While some who understood the reason James acted like that, had already put a smile on their lips.

Of course Priscillia is a smiling student. From their debate at that time, a little Priscillia can already guess her BK teacher has the nature of not losing.

After being in front of the class, James began to bring the material. The material he chose to present today is about honesty.

A student raised his hand as a sign of permission to speak.

"Yes, please." James let the student voice his opinion.

"We received this material in Class X, sir!" he said he was protesting.

"Certain why? Have you mastered and practiced this material in everyday life? Then I ask, which one of you has not lied in a year? For those who feel like they have done it, please raise your hand!" james said casually.

None of them dared to raise their hands, including the protesting student. Some of them could only grumble themselves with a manyun face, showing their dislike for James' question.

In contrast to some of her friends, Priscillia's smile widened to see the behavior of the teacher in front of her. Tuh ... Don't you? How unwilling to lose this one teacher, he said inwardly.

"Because no one raised their hands, it proves that you still need this material. But in that case, I should praise your honesty. By not raising your hand, you honestly admit that you still like to lie. It's okay, it's a good start" James said, clapping his hands.

After that, James began to expose the material. He discusses what honesty is, examples of honesty in everyday life, tips to be able to continue to maintain honesty, and why we must be honest.

"Well... Got any questions up here?" ask James to end the material.

One hand held out in response to James's question. Looking at the figure brandishing his hand, James's heartbeat began to increase. What's the matter? Signs of mental hazing? Relax, James! Remember Mr. Arif! It all starts with the way you think! Don't be so ugly first ! he thought to remind himself.

"Yes, Priscilla?" Trying to look calm, James let Priscillia ask.

"What do you think of the term lying for good?" ask Priscillia.

Hearing that question, James smiled stiffly. Really sharp question! A really critical kid! He realized that he had to be very careful in answering this question.

"Good question! Many people tell lies under the pretext of good. Now I'm going to ask you guys back, whose kind is this here?" James asked back.

"Of course it's for the good of the person I'm lying to, because I don't want to hurt him with painful facts." One of the students answered.

"Rubber! You think so. But what if things are reversed? Would you rather your friend lie to you for not wanting to hurt you? Or do you want him to be honest about you?"

"Sure I want him to be honest. Though it may hurt, but friends should be open, sir. If he lied to me, I would feel sad, because it means he does not trust Me" replied the student.

"Well ... That is how it is. A relationship needs trust. To build trust, it takes honesty. So here I disagree less with the term lying for good. Lying is still wrong. To lie is to convey false information that is misleading.

Distinguish by avoiding to give information, because not all things must be disclosed. But the truth that is already clear as something to be revealed, must be expressed honestly!

Indeed, in life, it is rather difficult to distinguish these two things. It takes wisdom to tell the difference. How's Priscillia? Pretty clear with the answer?" james closed the explanation.

"Yes, Sir. I understand." Priscillia replied with a smile.

James stunned. Already been? He just takes my explanation for granted? So he was purely asking because of his curiosity? Not because you want to make it difficult for teachers, such as the issues that are circulating ? inner James. And slowly, James breathed a sigh of relief.

But it turned out that too soon James felt so. In just a few seconds, another hand appeared.

"Yes, Sir. So here's ... I already have a boyfriend. But I don't like him anymore. I like other people. Do I have to honestly say that to my girlfriend?" ask Cecilia.

The whole class was excited to hear that question. James himself is gawking. I didn't expect to get a question like this.

He quickly tried to control his feelings and expression. Then wisely, he tried to answer the question seriously.

"Try asking yourself first, did you really like your boyfriend before? What is your motivation to date her?

Then, check also, is it true that your love has moved? Or maybe just a runaway? If there is no love anymore, just say it. Break away. But in that case, there may be another problem in you, which is loyalty. For that, we need to talk about it further. If necessary, you can go to my room to discuss it together. How's it?"

"No, Sir. Just get here," replied Cecilia as a manyun.

"Well, if you are satisfied with your answer. Any more questions?"

"I, Sir!" This time it was Rebecca's turn to raise her hand.

"Please Rebecca."

"If my girlfriend does ML, do I have to honestly say that I'm not virgin ? I'm afraid I'll be cut off, sir!" rebecca said bluntly.

Boom !!! James's face was instantly red upon hearing such a question.

Oh goshaaa!!! What is this question? Children today are gini so great ?!! inner James.

The whole class was back with that question. Especially after the students saw their teacher's face flushed red. The cheers and temptations leading to James were heard from all directions.

"Gee ... Our teacher is still innocent, guys !!"

"Cieee ... Mr. James has a red face, euyyy!!"

The class laughed together. The students who were still trying to keep James feeling, desperately limited their expressions just by smiling.

"Enough! Enough's enough! We're back to the question. We don't need to talk about me!" james said after being able to control himself.

"If you want to talk, we're okay!" rejoice Rebecca with a smile. Some of the other students nodded their heads.

"No! Let's just discuss your questions. So back to you, Rebecca! Rather than being honest, you find there are more important issues to discuss. ML can only be done by married couples. Beyond that, including adultery!

So if your boyfriend invites you to do that, it must obviously be rejected! Teach him how to respect and care for you! Wait till you get married! If he doesn't want to, just decide on a guy like that! It means he doesn't really love you!

And you ... Learn to respect yourself! Regardless of what has robbed you of your sanctity in the past, appreciate yourself from now on, if you do not want to be considered an immoral or lazy woman! You understand, Rebecca?" ask James firmly.

"Understand, sir," Rebecca replied quietly, more like a mutter. Rebecca's face reddened hearing that scathing reply. He did not expect to get a counterattack from his teacher.

The second break bell rang, a sign the fourth lesson was over.

"Alright, get here first the material this time. You guys can rest. If there is anything to ask or discuss, please go to my room. Good afternoon!" James closed BK lessons that day.

The whole schoolgirl stood up from her seat and greeted James, "Good day, sir. Thank you, sir."

Then James came out of the classroom and the class was back in a fuss behind him.

James returned to the teacher's room with his heart still somewhat rumbling.

Thankfully, he was able to answer those questions wisely. Thank goodness the lesson ended well enough. Apparently this is what has been categorized as mental hazing, because it is true. His mental and emotional well-being was thoroughly tested.

Mr. Arif... You are amazing if you can still consider questions like these are questions from ordinary critical children. It turns out that it's not that easy to debunk when faced with things like this, sir ... James complained in his heart. Whether he can still follow in the footsteps of Mr. Arif or not, at this time he does not want to think anymore.
