Devan pulls Nayla's hand and takes her away from Liana's presence. She would not let Liana blame Nayla for their divorce. Even Devan was furious when Liana slapped Nayla on the cheek. He felt helpless and felt very guilty towards Nayla.
"Nay, sorry for Liana's attitude. He could not hold back his emotions. He always put his emotions first and did not want to know the truth" said Devan who was walking with Nayla to the residence of Nayla and Calista.
Nayla smiled faintly at Devan's apology and said,
"It's okay Dev. Maybe I should get slapped so I can be conscious."
Devan stopped his steps and faced towards Nayla. He held onto both of Nayla's shoulders and faced towards her.
"He should be aware of Nay, not you. She blamed Keyla for taking all my attention to her. And now he's accusing you of being the cause of our divorce. It doesn't seem like he can just be sober even though I've explained it over and over again" said Devan, who looks frustrated with his wife.
Nayla stopped her footsteps. Then he faced Devan and said,
"Dev, you shouldn't take your wife home. It's already late at night. Surely your wife will be home late in the city."
Devan chuckles at Nayla's words. Even in the current situation, Nayla is still worried about the person who slapped her cheek.
Devan looked intensely at Nayla's eyes and said,
"Nay, Liana is not that weak. And he never went anywhere asking me to be escorted. He'd rather bring his own car."
"But Dev, this is kan–"
"Trust me, Nay. He'll be fine" said Devan, who tried to make Nayla believe him.
Nayla can't do anything else to convince Devan to take his wife back to town.
To be honest if Nayla's current feelings are very embarrassed and hurt to get bad treatment from Liana. But he doesn't blame her. Nayla blames herself so much that a wife like Liana suspects him and runs him over.
Arriving in front of the house temporarily occupied by Nayla and Calista, Devan releases Nayla into the house.
"Nay, call me if you need anything" Devan said with a smile as Nayla closed her door.
Nayla smiled and nodded her head in response to the words from Devan. Then he closed the door and leaned behind the door holding his chest and said in his heart,
What exactly am I doing now? Why did I become such a destroyer of Devan's and his wife's household?
Nayla's daydream is stopped by a phone ring coming from her phone. He immediately took the phone from the bag he was carrying.
"Racca?!" nayla said when she saw the name of the caller on her phone screen.
He immediately picked up the phone call while reopening the door of his house.
"Hello, where is Caca now? Mama just got home" said Nayla, locking the door.
"Okay, wait there. Mama is on her way to Mbok's house" said Nayla who had walked to the owner's house.
Only a few meters away from where he currently lives, Nayla picks up Calista and invites him to come home soon.
"How's Ma the files? Did you bring everything Mama brought?" asked Calista who was walking hand in hand with her mother.
"Mama got it all. Even Mama has asked your Papa for permission" Nayla replied as she walked along with Calista.
Calista was surprised by his mother's words. Enthusiastically he asked his mother,
"How's Ma? Does Papa let Caca go to school here? Does Papa allow us to stay here?"
"Papa thinks you go to an international school" replied Nayla with a big smile on her feet.
"Will Papa just believe it?"
"Your father doesn't know where we are. And Mama is sure that your father won't come here" replied Nayla with confidence.
"So, Caca has to pretend to go to an international school if Papa calls me?" ask Calista to her mother.
"It's true Ca. Use English to make your father believe. Hows it? Can you do it?" asked Nayla who was feeling a little doubtful towards her daughter.
Actually he didn't want to teach his daughter to lie. It was just their circumstances that required him to do that.
Calista nodded her head and smiled widely agreeing to what her mother had said.
The next day, Calista was ready in her new uniform. He was very excited to go to his new school.
On her way after taking Calista to school, Nayla thought about her current finances.
The money in his savings is getting thinner and thinner. He could not just sit around all day without working.
Nayla saw many mothers shopping at a vegetable stall around the road to her residence.
"It is better from now on that I cook myself to be more frugal," murmured Nayla who was watching some mothers shopping.
Come near Nayla at the vegetable stall. He started to choose the vegetables and side dishes he would cook today.
Nayla was surprised when the vegetable seller said the amount he had to pay. In his heart he said,
It's very cheap. Is it because here the village, so the food is very cheap? I can save more now.
"Mom, is there a problem? Did I count it wrong?" asked the vegetable seller's mother with a look of wonder when she saw Nayla was daydreaming.
Nayla awakens from her daydream after hearing the vegetable seller's question addressed to her.
"Eh, no Ma'am. Here's the money," answered Nayla, giving her a piece of fifty thousand.
The vegetable seller's mother received the money and gave the change to Nayla.
"Mother's new here? Did you just move in here?" ask the vegetable seller's mother who looked at Nayla from top to bottom.
Uncomfortable with the greengrocer's gaze, Nayla immediately picked up the plastic bag containing her groceries and said,
"Yes Mom. Excuse me."
After that Nayla rushed to leave the vegetable shop to her residence to immediately cook the ingredients she had bought.
"All this I got only at a very cheap price. Even with fifty thousand dollars, there is still change" said Nayla with a cheerful smile while removing all the food she bought from a plastic bag.
Suddenly, Nayla's hand stopped when she finished taking out all the food. Then he said,
"But, my savings will also run out soon if I don't work. What can I do in a village like this? Ah, looks like I'll have to drive around looking for a job."
After a while Nayla was busy in the kitchen, she immediately got ready to find work in the village.
He walked by observing the atmosphere around. His breath that is done almost every step makes people understand if he is having problems.
"There are only rice fields and gardens. Do I have to work in the fields and gardens?"
