Not Intentionally Cheating
Chapter 16 First morning

Today morning Nayla starts by making breakfast as usual. It's just that she's at her mother-in-law's house now.

"You don't have to make me breakfast. I'm not the old man who troubles his daughter-in-law. My breakfast is just fresh fruits like this" said Ms Ratmi while cutting the fruits she had just picked up from the fridge.

Nayla watches her mother-in-law cutting fruits while preparing breakfast for her and Calista.

"Good morning. Prepare breakfast for me too."

Suddenly the voice of a man distracts Nayla and Ms. Ratmi.

"Woody, when did you come?" asked Mrs Ratmi who looked happy the arrival of her favorite child.

"Barusan Ma'am. You two are busy gossiping in the kitchen," Bayu replied as he opened the fridge to grab a cold drink.

"I make coffee first Mas," said Nayla while preparing the cup and coffee.

"Don't drink cold drinks first Bayu. Wait for the coffee that your wife made," said Ms. Ratmi while watching Nayla's movements.

Bayu put the bottle back into the refrigerator. Then he walked to the dining table to wait for his coffee.

"This is the coffee mas" said Nayla, putting her coffee in front of her husband.

Soon Bayu drank his coffee slowly. Feeling that someone was watching him, Bayu turned to his right side, where his wife was standing.

"What's? Why are you looking at me like that?" ask Bayu to Nayla.

"Mas Bayu came home yesterday at what time?" nayla asked as she stared intensely at her husband's bead eyes.

"Yesterday night. Why?" Bayu asked Nayla.

Nayla breathed heavily. She looked into her husband's eyes and said,

"Then, why didn't Mas Bayu come here?"

Bayu re-drinks his coffee. Then he put down his cup and said,

"I'm going home."

"That's what I wanted to ask. Why is Mas Bayu coming home while Mas's wife and son are here?" nayla said as she folded her hands in front of her chest.

"It is not good to leave the house empty for too long" Bayu said very calmly.

Nayla sighed in annoyance. Repeatedly she had to endure her husband's self-imposed annoyance.

"Why is it stormy in the morning? Nayla, you'd better prepare breakfast. Your husband is tired after his flight. You should not have to make a fuss when you meet your husband," said Ms Ratmi while carrying a plate containing pieces of fruit.

Nayla didn't want to make a fuss. He immediately rushed to the kitchen to pick up the breakfast he had prepared.

"For Pa" said Calista, who was wearing her school uniform.

"Morning. Remember Papa's message. Don't do it in a new school. Papa does not want you to be expelled from school again" Bayu said firmly.

"Yes, yes, Caca understands" said Calista lazily.

"Don't just talk. Prove," said Bayu firmly.

"Already Pa. Let's have breakfast first. Caca's not a stupid kid. He understands what he has to do. After all, everything he did was always there was a reason" said Nayla while bringing food from the kitchen.

"Ck, you've always defended her. Look what's going on. He's-"

Instantly Bayu, Nayla and Calista fell silent. They did not make a sound until their breakfast was over.

After their breakfast, Nayla prepares to drop Calista off on her first day at her new school.

"I will go home to rest" said Bayu after finishing breakfast.

"Papa's holiday?" calista asked after putting his spoon and fork on his plate.

"No. Papa leaves later in the afternoon," replied Bayu after drinking water in his glass.

"Why don't we take Caca to her new school Pa? It's her first day at school" said Nayla, who asked her husband to take Calista to school.

"Just go to a normal school, there's no need for me to drop her off. If you go to a better school like yesterday, I will definitely take you," Bayu said in a satirical tone.

"But yesterday Papa did not take me when my first day went there," said Calista who was honest and dared to express his opinion as taught by Bayu.

"That's because at that time Papa was on a flight. Never mind, leave now if you do not want to be late and punished on the first day of school," Bayu said firmly.

Calista was annoyed at the reason given by her father. While Nayla can only sigh and calm her child.

"Let's go, baby, we're leaving now" said Nayla with a sweet smile and gently rubbed Calista's hair.

With a heavy heart Calista moved from her seat and said goodbye to her father and grandmother.

Bayu really did not change his stance. He did not want to take his son on the first day of school.

With his heavy steps Calista went to school with his mother. They walk to the new Calista school.

At her mother's house, Bayu enters Calista's room to see her son's room. He sees all the things and will throw away the things that his son would not have needed.

"Well, did your wife say anything to you?" ms. Ratmi asked as she walked into Calista's room.

Bayu looked towards his mother. He remembered what his wife had told him through her messages. Then he said,

"What about Ma?"

Ms. Ratmi was nervous, she was about to tell the truth but was afraid of being opposed by her son.

"About the agreement mom and Nayla had when they lived here," Ms. Ratmi replied a little nervously.

Bayu scrunched his forehead, trying to examine what his mother said. Then he said,

"Is there an agreement between mom and Nayla?"

Bu Ratmi sighed in relief when she saw the reaction of her son who seemed to not know of their agreement.

"none. Just what he needs to pay attention to during his stay at home mom. And mom forbade him to stop working, according to your wishes. Mother also gave up the peaceful days of motherhood to take care of Calista" Ms Ratmi replied as she sat on her granddaughter's bed.

"really? Thank you ma'am," said Bayu flat.

Such is the personality of a Bayu. Arrogant man who is firm and disciplined. He also has not much expression. He looks more flat and authoritative.

All because of the upbringing of his father who was a military in the air force. His father required him to be firm, disciplined and authoritative like himself who was a commander when Bayu was a child.

Little Bayu was so depressed that he had a prolonged trauma back then. Fortunately, at that time he met Nayla who could turn his trauma into a very confident person, like this.

The role of Nayla is very important for Bayu's life. And Ms. Ratmi knew it. That was why he did not dare to put too much pressure on Nayla. She was afraid that her daughter-in-law would leave her son.
