Devan was very excited this morning. He was ready to take Calista to try school at the school in the village.
Her steps were very light when she came out of her room. Unfortunately, the smile that had already adorned his face instantly faded away when he saw someone he was avoiding sitting in the living room.
"Honey..," said one woman when she saw Devan.
Devan breathed. He did not think that the woman in front of him would now follow him to his uncle's house.
He walked up to the woman and sat down in the chair in front of the woman. Then he said,
"Where would you be if I were here?"
"I'm your wife, so it won't be difficult if I look for you," Liana replied with a sweet smile.
Devan stepped up from his seat and said,
" Let me take you."
"Where?" liana asked with a confused face.
"Visiting Keyla," Devan replied firmly.
Instantly Liana turned her gaze in another direction while saying,
"Let's go there."
Devan breathed back. He was not completely confused by his wife's attitude. Sit him back in his chair and say,
"Isn't Keyla your real child? Why are you so cruel to her?"
Liana turned to her husband. She looked at her husband with a face filled with anger she said,
"What do you mean?"
"Stop dodging and theatricalizing in front of me. Leave immediately if you don't want to visit Keyla's grave," Devan said as he moved from his seat.
"What actually happened? Why are you saying that to me? What's wrong?" Liana flocked Devan with some questions.
Devan walked into his room. After a while, he came back out of his room with something.
Apparently he brought Keyla's cell phone and played Keyla's last phone recording along with Liana.
Liana's eyes widened to hear the recording being played by her husband came from Keyla's cell phone.
It was seen that Liana's hunting breath and her chest rising and falling held back her anger. Even his two hands were now gripping the chair he was sitting on.
"Now, what are you going to say?" devan asked with a stern look on his wife's face.
With a quick movement Liana picked up Keyla's phone placed on the table.
Braaak!
Liana slammed the phone hard to smash into pieces.
"Liana! Your outrageousness!" exclaimed Devan who had moved from his seat by staring intently at his wife.
"What's? Wh why? Keyla is dead and why is she always a barrier between us? You always put Keyla first compared to me. I hate him" Liana said hatefully.
"And you hate him because he's blocking your future. Don't you?" continued Devan with his cynical look at Liana.
Liana's eyes suddenly opened to hear what her husband said. Then he said,
"W-what? Whatchu mean?"
"I already know about your past. Remember, I don't hate you for your past. I hate you for your lies and hypocrisy. And I hate you for wasting your own good son like an angel" Devan said before he got out of his seat.
"Darling, I beg you, understand me" Liana told Devan.
"I've always understood your situation. But now, I can no longer hold it. I'll send you our divorce papers. Sign immediately and do not be convoluted," said Devan withholding his emotions.
Feeling unable to stand face to face with his wife, Devan immediately came out of the house leaving Liana still stunned with her tears that slightly dripped.
"You better get out of here. My house doesn't accept people like you."
Suddenly the voice of a middle-aged man shocked Liana. Uncle Devan who had been listening from the next room, now came out and drove Liana from her house.
Without saying goodbye and saying hello, Liana immediately got up from her seat and came out of the house with her annoyance and anger still lingering in her heart.
He walked without direction until he reached the river in the village. The sound of the river made him calm. He unknowingly sits on a boulder in the river and thinks about what he will do to thwart the divorce Devan has filed with him.
Without feeling it, he spent his time there. The sun is no longer visible there.
"Ear afternoon. How long have I been here? Why am I unconscious and missing so much time?" liana said as she got up from her seat.
He walked back to get to the streets. Many times he asked the residents to tell him the directions to the highway.
Suddenly Liana's legs stopped. He saw something that sparked his anger. Liana's hands clenched, her jaw hardened, her teeth chattered, and her chest rose and fell with irregular breaths upon seeing the scene not far from her.
Nayla and Devan meet on the road. They were talking and smiling when Nayla told her about Calista at her new school.
Without them noticing, there was a pair of eyes watching them from a distance not far away.
Unable to bear the emotion of seeing her husband's smile with Nayla, Liana quickly walked over to them.
Plaaac!
A loud slap coming from Liana's hand landed on Nayla's cheek.
"How dare you meet behind me! Fucking woman! Woman snatch men's husbands! Die you!" liana exclaimed with both hands that were already on Nayla's neck to choke her.
Nayla's body was shaking. She was ashamed to have been accused like that by Liana. Even he could not defend himself at this moment. She simply held onto her cheek which was hot by the hard slap Liana gave her.
Devan's hands immediately grabbed Liana's hands and led her away from Nayla. It was fortunate that the atmosphere on the road was quiet, so no one knew what was going on with the three of them.
"What's? Wh why? Why can't I kill him? Is it because of this woman that you want to divorce me?" liana asked fieryly.
"Silence you're Liana! Our divorce has nothing to do with Calista's mother. We just happened to meet here. Don't blame him for the failure of our household!" devan said by affirming every word.
"Calista's mother? Coincidentally meet? Whatisthis? It doesn't make any sense. You think I can just trust you?" suhut Liana while smiling cynically at Devan and Nayla.
Devan held onto both of Liana's shoulders and Liana tried to throw Devan's hands away, so Devan gripped Liana's shoulders very tightly and looked at his wife's eyes intently as he said,
"I don't care if you believe it or not. Because that's what it really is. Maybe that's how God brought us together."
