Not Intentionally Cheating

Not Intentionally Cheating
Chapter 17 Relationship between mother and child

On Calista's first day of school, Nayla asked permission not to work. He's been asking for permission not to work since Calista's accident with Keyla.

And today she was actually waiting for Calista from the beginning of school to school. He wanted to make sure that his daughter was doing well at the school.

Not far from Calista school, there is a cafe where it is very cozy. Nayla decides to wait for Calista at the cafe.

He ordered drinks and snacks to accompany her while waiting for Calista there.

"Caca's mother?"

Suddenly there was a shocking voice Nayla who was playing her phone.

Nayla turned to the source of the voice. He was shocked when he saw the figure of the man before him.

"Is that Caca's mom?" asked the man back as he walked forward towards Nayla.

"Yes Sir. How are you?" nayla said while smiling at the man.

"on your own? Or is she with Caca?" ask the man who is now sitting in front of Nayla.

"Caca is now in front school. And I was driving him, waiting for him to come home here" replied Nayla, pointing to Calista's school in front of the cafe.

"Oh, so Calista went to school there? After school, take her to eat here. Let me pay" said the man, smiling at Nayla.

"But Sir-"

"Sir Devan, I have prepared the report on the desk Mr. Do I need to bring it here, sir?" ask a man in a cafe uniform to Devan.

Devan turned towards the man who called out to him. Then he said,

"Leave it there. I'll check on him soon."

"Okay sir" said the man before he left Devan sitting in front of Nayla.

Devan turned to face Nayla and said,

"Sorry, I don't know your name yet. It doesn't feel good to call with the frills of Caca's mother" Devan said, chuckling.

Nayla also chuckles at Devan's jokes. Then he said,

"My name is Nayla. Father's Name"

"Call me Devan. I'm going to my room for a while to check out some reports. Please call me if Caca is home from school. I want to see him" Devan said, staring at Nayla.

Nayla smiled and nodded her head. He could not resist the good wishes of his daughter's friend's parents.

After that Devan got up from his seat and walked towards his room.

As for Nayla, she only suspects that Devan is the owner of the cafe. Soon he sends Calista a message to inform her that he is waiting for her at the cafe in front of his school.

Nayla really spent her time waiting for Calista at the cafe. For hours she used to read books and see many mothers' posts about their children and their work.

She's in the mother's forum. There is much talk about the experiences of those who leave their jobs to care for and educate their children.

Just like Nayla's current wish. He just wanted to devote his life to his family. All this time he was very sad to see his daughter whining because it was far from him.

Someone has to be sacrificed in order to be happy. And it's a life choice to live.

"Do I have to be like those who dare to take the decision to leave work for the sake of their child?" nayla said after reading some stories from the forum.

Suddenly a familiar voice rang out in Nayla's ears in response to Nayla's words aimed at herself.

"Eh Mr. Devan," said Nayla embarrassed after looking back and found Devan was standing right behind her.

Devan smiled at him and walked towards the chair he had been sitting in, precisely in front of Nayla.

"Don't call me Father. Just call Devan" Devan said, chuckling.

Nayla smiled and nodded her head to agree to Devan's request.

"Mr…!"

The cry of a girl made Nayla and Devan turn towards her.

"Honey, here" said Nayla, moving her hand to call Calista closer.

"Loh Om Devan is here?" calista asked after he was near them.

Devan smiled at Calista and nodded his head. Then he said,

"We eat first. Om wants to treat you because it has taken Keyla to her last place."

Calista smiled widely and nodded his head. He was very familiar with Devan, so he had told Devan and Keyla if he wanted to have a papa like Devan.

Bayu's care, who has never been close to Calista, makes her jealous of Keyla and wants her papa to be like Devan.

Unfortunately Calista was aware that it would not happen. He knew that his father could not be far from discipline. And Bayu will always keep his wife in front of anyone. No exception for his wife and children.

"Om, did Om come here with Auntie? Caca has never met him" Calista said after sitting next to Nayla.

"No. My wife has been out of town since Keyla's funeral day" Devan replied with a bitter smile.

"Sorry" Nayla said, filled with regret.

"It's okay" Devan replied with a smile.

Devan calls a waiter who is nearby to record their order.

"We order the food first. Caca eat whatever Caca wants to eat. Take it easy, Om the treat," said Devan with a smile and rubbed Calista's hair gently.

Nayla smiles bitterly at Calista's closeness with Devan. From the beginning he really wanted the closeness between Bayu and Calista like Calista's closeness with Devan who is like today and like when playing ball in his dorm.

But what power, it seems all just Nayla's desire alone. In fact, Bayu always send Calista away from home for educational reasons and the future of Calista.

It was very different from Devan who never agreed to send Keyla to the city.

Keyla himself is forced to want to go to school in the city and want to study independently.

Unfortunately Keyla was already at the school when Devan was traveling out of town with permission from his mother.

Liana escorts Keyla and enrolls her in the school and dormitory on the grounds of Keyla forcing her.

It is strange, Devan whose status is not the real father of Keyla, in fact more loving and caring for Keyla compared to Liana who has the status of her birth mother.

But Devan never knew the truth. He was a kind man, loving and always positive, so what Liana said was always trusted by him.

Until now, Keyla is gone, Devan has not met his wife and he refuses to talk about Keyla any time Devan wants to talk about their son's funeral even over the phone.
