This morning Nayla took the time to take Calista to school. He glanced at Devan's cafe in front of Calista's school.
“Mama, Caca there will be a football club entrance test later. Pray for Caca to be able to enter the school football club yes,” Calista said while holding both hands Nayla.
Nayla smiled and slightly bowed to equalize her height. Then he said,
“Mama is sure if this Mama's child can definitely become a member of the school football club. This Mom's son is good at playing ball. So, Caca does not need to worry and is confident in Caca's own abilities. Ok?!”
Calista smiled broadly at her mother's words. She kissed her mother's cheeks as an expression of her affection and gratitude.
“Caca went to school first Ma. Mama be careful yes,” Calista said as she waved her hand and walked into the school.
Nayla takes off her smile to walk her son into the school. He looked back at Devan's cafe which of course there was no Devan there. Devan's cafe is owned by more than one and the office he occupies every day is in his main cafe.
Over and over Nayla cast aside the shadow about Devan's sad face hugging her. Unfortunately, the shadow is often present when he is alone.
“Hufffttt.... What am I thinking?” nayla said after sighing.
Somehow his footsteps now felt heavy, as if he did not want to leave the place. But he couldn't just follow his premonition. The work that demands his responsibility is waiting for him. And he can't just ignore that responsibility.
Many times Nayla sighed while in her office to take care and prepare for her trip tomorrow. It felt like his chest was tight, as if there was something heavy in his chest.
“Nayla, tomorrow's trip is overseas. So we're going to be gone for seven days. You understand, don't you?” tanya Dimas seriously looked at Nayla.
“Iya Sir I understand,” replied Nayla while nodding her head.
“Just make sure you arrive on time and no more reason not to come. If that happens, you better just hand in your resignation letter,” Dimas said to warn Nayla.
Nayla smiled bitterly at the warning from Dimas. He realized that lately his life is not in line with his wishes. So many things happened that made Nayla want to resign from her job.
“Good Sir,” said Nayla while lowering her head while removing Dimas from his presence.
Nayla took her breath back. Even at this moment his heart was not calm. I don't know what happened, he doesn't understand. All he knew was that his heart was not calm and his mind was in turmoil.
Does this feel like leaving a child who desperately needs his mother? Can I work quietly tomorrow when mom is still in the hospital and Caca is alone at home? Right now I can only rely on Alvian. But he can't be completely with Caca either. Mas Bayu? What can I expect from him for now? All he knows is to keep his wife.
Nayla said in her heart as she sighed many times, just like a desperate person.
Suddenly, the phone rang from Nayla's phone. His phone was taken out of his pants pocket. Again he sighed, hoping nothing bad happened after seeing the caller's name on his phone screen.
“Halo Alvian, what's up?” asked Nayla who sounded very anxious.
Alvian, Nayla's younger sister, is currently on an order from Nayla to pick Calista up at school.
Meanwhile, Ms Ratmi, Nayla's mother-in-law, is now in hospital because her ankle was injured by kicking a ball that was played by Calista and rolling on her. And that leaves him with a small operation and a few days in the hospital.
Instantly Nayla snatches her bag and immediately runs out of her office towards Calista school. In a panic, Nayla stops the taxi and tells him to leave immediately after giving her the address.
Nayla's mind is fucked. He only thinks about his son. He could not think clearly at this moment. Even his work was abandoned without informing his departure from the office to his colleagues or superiors.
He immediately ran towards the school football field in search of his son. His steps stopped when he was near Calista who was being persuaded by Alvian.
Calista cried as he fell asleep and moved his legs shouting his protest about the results of the selection of members of the football club. He felt unfair about the outcome. Calista's practice was very satisfying, but she could not be included as a member of her school's football club just because she was a woman.
Calista's disappointment was so great that he could not accept the decision. He marched alone on the football field demanding the injustice he had received.
“Caca, let's go home, baby. This is not the end of everything. We go home now yes,” said Nayla who tried to persuade Calista to replace Alvian who had failed to persuade him earlier.
“No. This is not fair. I demand justice,” Calista said as she sobbed.
“Take justice! Women can enter football club!” calista shouted his demands.
Nayla hugged Calista and cried. What a shame this daughter's fate.
What keeps Calista alive is football. Even the lesson value is ordinary. Her only desire is to become a female soccer athlete.
“Come, we go home yes,” said Nayla back with tears dripping down her cheeks.
He was not ashamed of all the parents and students who looked at them. He only felt pity and guilt for his daughter who was not by his side when in his difficult times.
“Already Brother, it seems like he wants to vent his frustration on them alone. Let him be here until he feels tired and enough to fight for his wishes. After that we take him home,” Alvian told Nayla.
Nayla followed what her sister said. There was no harm in indeed giving Calista a chance to vent his frustration.
Finally Nayla and Alvian waited for Calista who was still struggling to shout her wish in between her cries.
For hours they waited for Calista who was unceasingly fighting for her rights. Until the day turned into an afternoon and no students were in school.
“You'd better go home. Let Big Brother accompany Caca here?” nayla said as she rubbed her sister's shoulder.
“Kakak sure? Soon the sky will be dark and Caca will be very tired. Can Brother carry her?” alvian asked who looked worriedly looking at his nephew.
Nayla followed Alvian's line of sight looking towards Calista. Instantly the two of them ran up to Calista when they saw Calista's body staggering like they were losing balance.
Bruyuk!
Calista's body fell on the grass of the football field. Alvian quickly holds Calista's body and Nayla runs to find a taxi for them.
