83. Returnees

David is really happy tonight. After putting one red rose on top of the vase, his smile grew even wider. He had prepared a romantic dinner in his room. She was sure Amelia would not prepare something like this in her room.

David was in a hurry to get all of that ready. Finally he had to wait for a long time until seven o'clock in the evening because he finished his preparations very quickly. After seven o'clock arrived, David still had to be patient to wait for Amelia's arrival. However, after ten minutes, the woman did not come either. David smiled cynically. She thought Amelia was embarrassed to enter her room alone. Sure oes. Amelia was still a woman.

David had finished waiting for him. He took the only rose in the vase and took it to Amelia's room. The door to the room was not locked anymore. David becomes increasingly convinced that Amelia is indeed waiting for him. Otherwise, he couldn't possibly let David in that easily.

“Lia! Your red rose is coming!” david said he gave his arrival.

Upon entering the room, David became astonished. The room is empty. There's no one there. There was no Amelia in the bathroom. David went back to his own room. Amelia didn't come there either.

Ah, maybe Amelia is testing her patience again. It's mundane. Amelia has done it many times.

David was able to endure his patience all this time. This time he will win again. David was sitting sweetly on the chair while waiting for Amelia to arrive. I don't know what surprise the woman had prepared.

David was waiting. He was too busy waiting while imagining what surprise Amelia could give. Without realizing it, time goes on for a long time. Midnight has even arrived. However, Amelia came too. David could not remain silent. He looked for Amelia again in the woman's room, but there was none. Then he searched around the inn and the beach, but nothing. The desperate David returned to his own room. He walked in the hope that Amelia had been there. If not, he'll go crazy. Where can she go in the middle of the night?

After opening the door to his room, David was immediately shocked. A woman was already sitting in one of the chairs she had prepared. Then David smiled broadly. He was happy because his hope was fulfilled. The woman was Amelia who was sitting in a short red dress. It was really Amelia. The woman smiled with her right hand raised.

I'd love David to hug Amelia right now. But instead, he walked slowly. Amelia has tested it. David will not lose. David showed me how cool he was.

“Why did you just come? Didn't we promise to meet at seven? You broke the promise. Don't you like people who break promises, even if it's you?” david asked after he sat down.

“I'm sorry. I have business for a minute. You must have waited long for me?”

Sure oes. Even the little boy knows that. From seven o'clock to twelve. Only the dead don't know how long it was.

“Of course not,” lied David. “Didn't you see that I came from outside?” David pointed at the exit. “I'm only ten minutes waiting for you. Because you didn't come, so I took a walk outside.”

Amelia held back her laughter from being amused. Anyone knows that it's just a lie.

“Really?” ask Amelia.

“Of course.”

David almost let Amelia eat the food she had prepared. However, it seemed that the food was already not worth eating. The food had been left out for too long in the open air. David offered his hand. She asked Amelia to dance with her.

For a long time, the two men moved to and fro, dancing. Talking without using his mouth, but rather a smile and eye gaze. Really, David felt like there was no one luckier than him tonight.

“Wait, David,” hold Amelia. He immediately threw away his face as David almost touched his lips.

“There is something important that I have to tell you,” added Amelia.

“You have tested my patience long enough. What is so important to say on such an important night for us? If it really exists, we should talk about it tomorrow.”

David pushed Amelia's face to look at him. Then he went back to kissing Amelia.

“It's about your mother!”

David stopped his movement. That's really something important to say right now. David wakes up and lets Amelia wake up.

“I've met your mother,” said Amelia honestly.

“What?! When?! Why didn't you tell me?!”

“That's not important for now.”

“What do you mean?”

Suddenly Amelia woke up. David was astonished at what the woman was going to do.

“I'm not here to enjoy a romantic evening with you. Your mother threatened me to leave your life.”

“But-but you're not going right? You promised not to leave me forever.”

“If I don't go, your mother will kill me. I still love my life more than you.”

Amelia immediately turned around and started to move her legs.

“No! You can't go!” David immediately woke up and hurried quickly after Amelia. When he managed to hug the woman, David was delighted. However, he began to realize that he did not feel anything in his arms. When he opened his eyes, there was apparently nothing in his arms but the wind. Amelia wasn't there. David has failed to embrace Amelia. David begins to spin around to find Amelia around him. However, the woman did not exist, not even her shadow. David was panicking. She is confused as to where to find Amelia. When he was about to step up his legs, his legs were even fixed in place. He can't move. David was getting confused. He found no way to find Amelia. Finally, in his desperation, David started shouting, “Amelia!” David shouted many times. However, no one heard his screams. He kept shouting too. Until finally—

“Amelia ..” David opened his eyelids and immediately raised his head. Apparently he was still sitting on the chair he had prepared last night.
