Amelia hurried back to the apartment. He forced the taxi driver to go through the red light. Arriving at the apartment, apparently David had not arrived there. For a moment Amelia breathed a sigh of relief. Then he looked at the clock, apparently half an hour had passed. David said he would arrive in ten minutes when he called. Amelia immediately felt anxious. He is worried that David has reached the apartment, but does not find Amelia there. If that's true, then Amelia has been caught off guard for the second time.
For a while, Amelia tried to calm herself down. David may not be back yet. Because if David did come back and didn't find Amelia in the apartment, David should have contacted Amelia again.
After an hour of waiting, David really did not return. Amelia ventured to contact the man. David did not pick up the phone from her. Amelia became increasingly worried. He doesn't know who to contact to find out where David is. He finally decided to be patient and wait.
Amelia waited all night, but David really didn't come home. I don't know what's wrong with David or Amelia. Amelia wanted to get that explanation. The next day, Amelia decides to meet David at David's place of work.
Amelia meets a bespectacled man who claims to be David's secretary. Instead of showing David's den, the man drove Amelia to a room, where David had been staying all this time. The man told Amelia to wait for David there because David was seeing some guests.
The room was not much different than the room in the apartment: simple and quiet. Then what is the difference so that David prefers to live in this room than in an apartment?
Feeling that there was nothing interesting to see, Amelia decided to stretch herself while waiting for David. However, in the middle of the bed, Amelia found a long white dress. It couldn't be a surprise for him. David didn't even know that Amelia was coming here. Amelia also hates the color white. Moreover, the dress was almost the same as the dress she stole from Levina. Does the dress belong to someone else? A girl dress in the middle of a boy's bed?
Amelia started thinking. She took the dress and brought it to the mirror. She wanted to make sure the owner of the dress was of her size.
“It's yours.”
Amelia's surprised. He turned right away. Apparently David was already standing behind her with a cold face.
“Oh.” Amelia felt caught off guard. However, realizing that it was indeed his, he immediately smiled happily. “Really?”
Amelia turned around again to look at herself behind the mirror reflection. The dress was perfect for her. However, the dress was not her taste at all. Amelia lowered her smile. “But ...”
“Do you not like it?” ask David.
“Actually ...”
“I don't care about that, but you have to wear it for dinner later,” said David without hospitality.
Amelia drowned her disappointment at the dress. He raised his lips again.
“Not so. I really like it. This dress is so beautiful,” praise Amelia.
Amelia turned around, but David was no longer behind her. Apparently David was walking out without a word of farewell.
“David!” call Amelia.
David stopped just before opening the door. He didn't answer.
“Where did you go?” ask Amelia.
“It's still noon. Of course I work. You just wait there. I'll pick you up tonight.” David finally left without looking, even once.
Amelia sat down limp on the bed. David has changed. He's far from usual. Even Amelia had never seen such a cold face. He wondered what was really wrong?
