NARITA POV
--- In a college library ---
The atmosphere of the library is very quiet, very conducive to learning. I opened the laptop and the book I had borrowed. Only for a moment did I get to concentrate on the material I was writing, for a moment later my mind floated out of nowhere. I daydreamed.
I don't know why, I even thought about what Dave said this morning.
I don't know why my heart hurts to hear that she has a fiancee and is getting married.
I always assured myself that I had moved on from him.
To me, he's been gone since he left us.
I have convinced myself that I must look to the future.
No matter what happens, he is nobody.
So why am I worried now?
His presence returned at an unexpected moment, upsetting me.
Please help me to take care of my heart.
Just to keep it for someone I'm worth fighting for.
Just keeping it for someone who's right for my kids.
Hufh
Aishh,, stop. There's nothing I need to worry about. It is enough to establish the heart that he who is now is not the former. And, let him not know the presence of Daffa and Dafina. That's better for us.
“Hai!” greet Darren suddenly startled me who was daydreaming.
Darren then sat down on the opposite seat and smiled.
“Magging?” the question is still staring at me.
“Enggak” I replied briefly with a slight smile.
“You're the smartest at keeping things a secret, Na! But not for me. Just looking at your facial expression, I know someone is bothering you” now he is opening his laptop.
“Mumpung still quiet, tell me!” Darren looked to the right and to the left and whispered a little closer to me.
Seeing her funny expression, I couldn't help but laugh.
“Hahahha,, you are a paranormal rich. I just miss my family” I whispered too and looked back at her.
“I'm curious, what exactly is your family like? Why do you always miss them”
“I,, I miss my children” in a soft voice, I then stare at the book I have opened.
“A a a what? Your kids?” darren asked in a shocked tone of voice, his eyes glaring at me.
“You have a husband?” ask Darren and I answer with a headband. I saw Darren smile at me.
“I put my kids in my parents when they were 3 months old. I was forced to do it because I had to study this scholarship!” I saw Darren mangosteen at a glance.
“Me them?” ask Darren to make sure.
“Iya. They're twins. Daffa and Dafina” I replied.
“Bring here if possible. It is painful for a mother to have to part with her children. After all, S3 is not as crowded as the schedule with S1 or S2 lectures. Later I help keep it, if diijin” explained Darren later.
“Thanks for the offer of his help.” Saying later.
After that short conversation, Darren fell silent again as if he was in focus with his laptop. He did not continue to ask about my family, nor did I, I purposely ended our conversation with a thank you.
Darren is a type of person who is very familiar with sign language. He is more sensitive than my other friends. He didn't ask me more about my husband. He knew very well that with me ending the conversation with a thank you it meant that I was less willing to continue the story.
We both ended up immersed in our own world. Despite sitting face to face but we were consistent enough not to interfere with each other. Especially for me, when on campus especially in the library, is the most appropriate time to write.
After about 2 hours, the two of us decided to have lunch together at a cafe not far from campus. While we were sitting and preparing to eat, suddenly came some college students who were talking about something.
“Wah,, cool ya was his open lecture. Although he manages the family company, but it looks like he is very smart.” said person 1.
“Iya, where is young and handsome anyway!” continue the 2nd person.
“I was browsing, she is still single!” continue the 3.
“Masa’?” ask them to gather.
“Waahhh,, I hope later can research program in his company, who knows mate with him” said person 4.
“Then it is, let's compete!” said person 5.
“Ckckckckk, please compete! I'm not interested at all.” Said the 6.
Well, that's how they gossiped and I very clearly heard their conversation.
“Who are they talking about huh?” ask Darren who I thought from earlier did not care about the people around him.
“Which is clearly a male gender!” my words were immediately greeted by Darren's laughter.
Then we started to enjoy this lunch with small talk. After lunch, Darren was about to return to the library, and I chose to return home. Darren and I walked together on our way to the library. I had a bicycle parked near the library building.
But we were again surprised by the sound of a black limousine car horn that suddenly overtakes us and stopped suddenly not far from us.
From behind, I saw a tall, big man in a full suit who was very keen to get out of the car. How shocked I was when he started turning his body. It was obvious that I was surprised to see him here.
Because there was a car in front of me, Darren and I stopped walking, while he, who had turned his back, was now walking towards us. Slowly if made a slow motion scene, he walked slowly while his right hand opened his sunglasses. I saw Darren who was next to me also just standing dumbstruck by the sight that was in front of us.
,“Assalamu’alaikum!” greet the man dressed formally in the perlente when he has been in front of me.
“Wa wa wa’alaikum salam warohmatullahi wabarokatuh” I answered the sap with a little stammering.
