LULA'S POV
A few days later..
I had just opened my eyes when I suddenly felt a severe nausea. I ran to the bathroom and vomited my stomach. Yuck.. Yuck..
When I finished, I sighed and leaned my body against the wall of the sink. I was just about to take a nausea reliever when my apartment bell rang. I rushed towards the door and opened the door.
Mother. He stood gracefully before me.
"Mother.." I'm shocked. Any idea where I live here? Must be from your father's men.
"Mom hope you don't mind Mom coming?" abugn.
"Ga, Mum. Absolutely ingga. Please, Mom." I let him in.
He looked around my apartment.
"Sorry, Mom. The place is simple." I said humbled. This apartment actually includes luxury apartments, only the size is small and only has one room. There is absolutely nothing more to it than Mother's house.
"Father." Mom sits on a one seater sofa. I sat in front of him.
"Then you're pale. You gapapa?" ask Mother.
"Father, Mom. Maybe it's just a slap." I replied.
Mother nodded. "You're off, aren't you, today?"
"Yes, Mom. I'm off on Saturday. Oh yeah, a minute. I made you a drink." I said as I walked towards the kitchen. Because my apartment was small, so we could talk to each other even though I was in the kitchen and he was sitting in the living room, our distance was only three meters.
I decided to make chamomile tea for Mom. I wonder what brought you here. Did he come to tell me to go back to Adrian's house?
I put a cup of tea in front of Mom. He thanked her and sipped her with elegance that I had never seen in any woman.
"So, my goal here is just to see how you are doing. I'm worried about you." she said.
"I'm fine, ma'am." I don't know what else to answer.
"Mama you know?" ask again.
I'm shaking.
Mother sighed. "Yes.. Just like Adrian. He was also afraid that you would know." said Mother.
"Ehmm. but, Mom. You know I'm here from your workers, right?" my many.
Mom shakes. "From Adrian."
"What, Mom?" many surprised. So he knows where I am but isn't looking for me at all?
"Yes.. Wait for.. Don't-don't.. She never came to pick you up?" search Mother.
I was silent, but Mom knew my answer. He shook his head in disbelief. Mom took her phone in her bag and it looked like she was contacting someone.
"You.. Get Lula today!" mom said half yelled at someone on the phone who I'm sure was a hundred percent Adrian.
I held tightly to Mom's one hand, trying to calm her down. His other hand held a cell phone in his ear.
"What's? You're.." Mom was silent for a moment and continued her words. "If you don't want me to know, do what I tell you!" he said again and then he turned off the phone.
"That kid.. Unheard-of.. The only thing that is taken care of is the Sakiiit house." Mother told me. "Sorry, La. I think Adrian has tried to persuade you a lot.."
I closed my mouth suddenly and as fast as lightning ran towards the bathroom. I threw up again.
Mom came up to me and stroked my back. "You sick?"
I touched my dizzy head. I'm nodding.
"When have you been vomiting like this?" ask Mom again.
"Ehm.. Two days, ma'am." I said.
"Let's go to the hospital." Bring Mom. Mom took the wind oil out of her bag and rubbed it on my nape.
"Did, Mom.." I got up and looked for headache medicine in the cupboard above the sink.
"Yep, to the hospital." I looked at Mom's suddenly beaming face. "Siloam" he said. Siloam is the name of the hospital where Adrian worked. Maybe he thought we'd meet Adrian there. Is this his way of reuniting us?
.
.
.
Thirty minutes later..
"Loh, Mum.. How are we going to obgyn?" I wondered as we waited in front of the obstetrician's room.
"Yes.. Come on, come in we've been called." said Mother again.
We went into the doctor's room.
"Aunty?" Greet the female doctor.
It's like I've seen it.
"Silene?" said Mother.
Syena? It's kan.. Ex-Adrian? So they're a hospital? The pain runs through my heart. Adrian spent more time in the hospital. Do they meet often?
"Tante ga ngeh if you're the doctor. Oh yeah, this is what you know, right? Adrian's wife, Lula. Lula, this is Syena, Adrian's friend from college in New York first." said Mom. Huh, buddy? You don't know or take care of my feelings, do you?
I just nod. Syena smiled and watched me from top to bottom. I want to get out of this room.
"Oh yes, Auntie. What complaints?" syena looked at us in turn.
"It's. um. It looks like Lula's pregnant." I was shocked to hear Mom's statement. Getting pregnant? But it seems that I am not the only one surprised. Syena in front of me also could not hide her shock. He looked at me dislikefully before finally turning his face into friendly again.
"OKAY. May I know the last menstrual schedule?" ask Syena.
"Ehm.. It's two weeks late." I said while remembering.
"OKAY. We're USG, yes." Syena said again.
After the USG..
"Congratulations, yeah.. You contain. It looks like the gestational age has been five weeks" Syena said while submitting the results of the USG.
"Gee.. Thank you, Lord.." said Mother, hugging me.
I still can't speak. Getting pregnant? I'm kan.. Oh, naw! Nah! Nah! I remember the Pill I should have taken every time we got in touch. I was snatched a couple weeks ago. Taskus. The Pill is there!
Mom and I walked out of the doctor's office after Syena gave me a prescription for vitamins. I can only bow down lethargic.
"Finally, La.. My mom and dad have grandchildren. Your parents too. You should eat healthy. Now we go to Adrian, let's go here.."
I'm shaking.
"Why?" said Mother.
"Adrian don't like to be disturbed, Mom. Oh yes, Mum. If you can, please don't tell Adrian first, yes."
Mom raised both eyebrows. "Why?"
I'm speechless.
"La, what's wrong with you?" ask Mom again.
"Mom.. I'm scared."
"Fear what?" My mother led me to sit on one of the benches lined up in front of the doctor's room. He sat next to me.
"Before marriage, we had an unwritten agreement that we would not have children."
"What?" Mom looked surprised.
"What Adrian.." I decided not to continue my sentence. Does Adrian want to take this kid, Mom?
Mom stroked my back. "That was before.. When you were young. Now, who the hell doesn't want his wife to get pregnant? Just calm down, yeah. Now we eat, keep your mother anter home. Later in the afternoon Adrian also picked you up. Later when you meet, you can definitely tell him. Take it easy, Lula. You guys could be good parents." My mother said to calm me down. But it seems that my worries are not that easy to assuage.
