Disappear Without a Trace

Raiyan drives his car after the car driven by Alwi which is still visible at the end of the road. While Anisa was looking anxious sitting next to the steering chair.

Alwi drove his car quite fast towards ‘Hafa Resto’. The only goal that came to his mind at this moment, his mind was quite stifled at imagining how badly he was treating his young wife.

“I'm sorry, Fa ...” said Alwi repeatedly.

Arriving in front of the restaurant, without parking his car Alwi directly out of the car and rushed into the restaurant without caring about the screams of the parking attendant who was upset because of the act of Alwi.

Shortly after, Raiyan's car was seen entering the courtyard of the restaurant. After parking the car, the two of them rushed after Alwi.

But the second step came to a halt when they saw the figure they were chasing walking out of the restaurant with shameless steps and blank stares looking straight ahead.

Anisa and Raiyan exchanged glances, as if talking to each other from the glare of each other's eyes.

“You watch Alwi, Rai. I will go inside,” said Anisa, she guessed if her husband did not manage to meet with Lathifa, or even her husband was kicked out by the restaurant owner.

“Good, Nis. Are you sure you'll be okay?” asked Raiyan worried.

Anisa nods her head assuring Raiyan that she will be fine, then she passes leaving Raiyan still staring at her.

Anisa went inside the restaurant, she observed every corner of the place. As usual, everything looks normal and the waiters are on their way as usual.

But Anisa did not find the existence of the owner of the restaurant, namely the mother of Hana and Lathifa.

“Mbak Maya!” call Anisa when she sees the figure she knows as Hana's mother's right hand.

Maya who heard her name called immediately turned to the source of the voice, her face looked surprised when she found Anisa was standing not far from her place.

Maya calls another waiter and gives her job to the waiter, and she walks up to Anisa.

“Mbak Anisa, let's follow me.” Maya invites Anisa to get away from the crowd, she knows the reason why the woman came to the restaurant.

“Sorry Ma'am, if I'm not wrong .. is the arrival of Mbak Anisa the same as Mbak's husband who is looking for the existence of Lathifa?” ask Maya slowly.

Anisa nodded her head slowly. “Can I meet with Lathifa, Ms Maya?”

“Sorry Ma'am, but mom and Lathifa left this restaurant this morning,” Maya replied making Anisa stagger to lose her balance.

“Mbak! Ma'am Anis okay?” maya asked frantically, she led Anisa to sit in a nearby chair.

“Astaghfirullah,” said Anisa Lirih repeatedly.

 Maya offers a glass of water to Anisa to drink. “This drink first, Ma'am.”

“Thank you, Ma'am Maya.”

Maya looked at the woman in front of her with a look of pity, indeed Anisa looked very pitiful. With her pale face and puffy eyes, even Anisa did not care about her slightly messy appearance.

“Where did Hana and Lathifa's mother go, Ma'am?” anisa asked after drinking her drink.

“I don't know, Ma'am. Mom just say goodbye and leave this place to me, she just brought her stuff and did not say anything more.”

“Alright .. thank you, Ms. Maya. If there is any news about their whereabouts, please contact me immediately yes, Ma'am!”

After saying that sentence, despite the disappointment in her mind, with a heavy heart Anisa immediately said goodbye without pocketing any information about the whereabouts of Lathifa.

The three of them decided to carry out their obligations at the mosque not far from ‘Hafa Resto’ when they heard the voice of azan dzuhur. Not one bit they feel hungry even though their stomach has not filled anything since morning.

Tiredlessly, all day long the three of them walk down the city streets looking for Lathifa's whereabouts, hoping to find Lathifa and her mother.

But their search did not produce any results, they also had to visit several bus terminals and train stations. But just the same, they came back without satisfactory results.

Later that night, at the persuasion of Abi Husein and Umi Hanifa, Alwi and Anisa are willing to stop their search and decide to return home even with their bare hands.

“Where are you, Lathifa?” asked Alwi who was sitting on a bed that was usually occupied by his young wife.

“I'm sorry, please come back!” Alwi hugged the pillow that still left the aroma of shampoo that could be used by Lathifa.

While behind the door, Anisa sees her husband falling down. Her heart ached at the sadness of her husband.

Anisa slowly closed the door to the room quietly, without a sound she left her husband and did not want to disturb him and let her husband to be alone.

‘I know that you love her very much, Mas’.
